My family tried out the place with our groupon voucher. We were not so please with the food, it was okay… decent but not like wow! I appreciate the service from the waitress as she was really kind to us and our kids. I don’t mind give it a try again but definitely some other dishes.

Let me start off by telling you this is a five star diner. There are a few dollars left in the central area of Los Gatos, Campbell, Saratoga that maintain its beauty, originality, and delicious food. This place is the king of bolts and shakes. There are delicious homemade pies daily, there are cakes daily. I came here for the cheese sandwich on sourdough of course a hot ham and cheese sandwich on sourdough. I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful my sandwich was. I took pictures of my sandwich and also the surrounding area of the location and the restaurant in general. Now for the beauty of this restaurant surrounded as a quote unquote Mills type of Diner where you can come get yourself a malt or shake and enjoyed the 1950s look of old-fashioned diners that have been slowly disappearing in America. There are vital records pictures of Marilyn Monroe and things from the fifties and sixties that make you reminisce while enjoying your time here. There is a nice bar with drinks if you decide to have a beer or so but it is not a standard bar that serves drinks mostly beer. There is a sports area with a big screen TV to sit and have your dinner and watch TV or there is a restaurant area which is a traditional diner all rolled into one. There is plenty of parking remember this is a small restaurant. My food was great the customer service was great the environment was great. This place was great great great. There are not too many places I wish that had 5 + stars As I am a connoisseur of diners drive-ins and Dives in their own right. This is one place you need to go and add to your check off list.

Don’t order the fish and chips. Three of the smallest portions of fish I’ve ever seen in a fish and chips order, looked like they used bluegill instead of cod. The breading was a disappointing coating of dry breadcrumbs, the fish itself was flavorless, and the texture was mush. I guess it’s good the oil they fried it in wasn’t fresh as that was the only flavor I detected. Microwave nuggets from the freezer would be better. And of course overpriced.

We were seated instantly and the service was beyond excellent! I ordered the hash brown benedict which was large and had a pancake! I couldn’t finish but I didn’t leave unhappy! The mimosas are also quite tasty! Definitely going back!

Good, basic food cooked well. Generous portions so you’ll never go home hungry. The menu is just what you’d expect from a diner and the atmosphere is cozy and fun. Lovely wait staff who are very welcoming and friendly.

diner — yep. like, 1950s style. you get what you want, and the breakfast is ON-Point! the wait staff is friendly, the owners are involved. It’s one of the best breakfast spots I’ve been to in Silicon Valley my 9-yr old says their chocolate shakes are worth doing chores for.

Place is just horrible. If they aren’t repeatedly trying to short change you– they are serving up crappy crap. I realize Los Gatos is a high-rent district, but that’s no reason to have poor service & food at a place that is suppose to have good service & food. This place is dead to me. Dead!

Great breakfast, great place for real burgers too, and don’t forget a thick old fashioned milk shake with that! Nice wait staff, good full menu, happy atmosphere, happy all around! Homemade soups include Clam Chowder on Fri. And wait till you try this, it is full of tender clams, creamy in fact silky texture, enough potatoes to make it authentic! And you meet the nicest people here, we will keep coming back.

Good diner breakfast. The first thing you notice when you walk into the diner is the décor. I love the retro feel and the music playing from the juke box. The turkey bacon scramble was half avocado, half everything else. The everything else consisted of eggs, cheese, green onions, and turkey bacon. I never thought I would say that something had too much avocado in it but this comes close. I loved the crunchiness of the outside of the hash browns and the softness of the inside. It also comes with two pieces of buttered sourdough toast and jam on the side. The tostada scramble is packed with meat, cheese, avocado, sour cream, and a side of pico de gallo. The home fries are pretty good but the hash browns are better. Overall, a good breakfast. I will definitely want to come back to use the Unilocal check in to try the milkshakes here.

As far as diners go I love this place. It’s the closest I’ve gotten to an East Coast diner. Food is good and service is great. I just wished the juke box worked at the table. Defiantly a great place.

We were pleasantly surprised that this diner is actually a diner! Hard to find Chicken Piccata and French Toast at 9:30pm in California. Both were seriously delicious!

Our Sunday regular breakfast place! You’ll see the two cycling older gents, the classic auto enthusiasts clubs, the locals and us! I get the Benedict Florentine. The waitresses are great and remember us all the time. Join us for coffee and become a regular too!

Came here randomly on a Sunday morning at 10am and the boyfriend and I had to wait for about 5 minutes which is nothing compared to all the other breakfast joints in the area. We got seated at the bar and waitress there was extremely talkative and friendly. For breakfast, I like to keep it as simple as possible. I was in the mood for waffles and fresh fruits so I ordered the Nutella waffles with strawberry and no whip cream. It was yummy. Can’t go wrong with simple orders. Boyfriend got an omelet(I forget which one) but that was also tasty. Great experience. I would go back if i was in the mood for something simple and quick.

I stayed in Los Gatos during a recent business trip to the Bay Area and on one particular night I got off work fairly late. I made it to The Diner just in time for them to serve up some of their certified«Diner» fare. Everything was as it should be including the décor, service, and food. I had plenty enough left over to take back to my hotel room and snack on while I continued to wind down from a long day.

Every diner i’ve been to has always had this nice black/white theme with a splash of one color. This one, however, had a black and white checkerboard theme with a huge wave of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and any 50’s décor. Still absolutely cute though. Parking is a bitch, so i like to park in the side streets and walk on over. I really only came here for the milkshakes. I have tried the strawberry and vanilla! both taste amazinggg. They put a dollop of whipped cream on top and the milkshake can serve two! The only other food i’ve tried here is the Chicken Avocado Club with fries. I wasnt a big fan of the club sandwich, but the fries were light and crispy! My friend’s dad used to come here all the time so i’m guessing the rest of the food is also delicious! the waiters/waitresses are always super nice when i come in and patient for my order. I’ve seen the dessert cases and i DROOOOLLOL. But i’ve been craving breakfast foods a lot latelyyy, so i’ll def try to stop by and try out the rest of the menu Unilocal checkin ! get a dollar off milkshakes hehehe

Why are there such low reviews for this place? Okay locals, let’s get real for a sec: YES, this place isn’t your typical fancy los gatos eatery. Would I come here for a meal that wasn’t breakfast? Eh, probably not. BUTFORBREAKFAST?! YES. This place has one of the best waffles I’ve ever had. The service was super friendly and SOFAST. Definitely got more than my 2 scrambled eggs. Mimosa was simple and didn’t have a strawberry garnish on it as described in the menu, but it was $ 6…so I’ll take it. The waitress even asked how we wanted our back: crispy or chewy. Which was awesome. I would totally come back if I was in town. The only thing I would maybe try to fix is those darn booth seats: the tables sit so high, you have to sit perfectly straight to eat, and I like to be a bit more relaxed eating my waffles!

It’s open late, and it’s traditional diner food. Quite a few steps up from Denny’s! This place has turned into date night with my SO for some reason or another. They make a good burger, an excellent waffle, fantastic Monte Christos, and have great service. The same server who has been there each time I’ve been there has been nothing but nice and accommodating. This is totally traditional 50s-esque diner with décor to match. There are(non-working?) individual juke boxes on each table and the posters on the wall are all Elvis and Marilyn, etc. etc. The place sticks out like a sore thumb in snooty Los Gatos, but that’s kind of what I like about it.

This is what a DINER should totally look like from the outside to the inside. The Diner of LG totally reminds me of Ruby’s Diner in SoCal. I love the 50’s themed décor. From Marilyn Monroe portraits to Jimmy Dean ones and cute little jukeboxes set at some tables. Our hostess was extremely courteous and super sociable. Apparently she recognized us from our Unilocal reviews! Too cool! Shout out to Ngoc, the lovely hostess! I ordered a veggie patty melt with fries AND of course went with their Oreo Milkshake(one of the most popular ones). I knew the milkshake would be no bueno for my belly as I’m slowly cutting dairy out of my nutrition plan again but lemme tell ya… it was EFFING worth it! Mmmmmm. Loved that the shake didn’t taste too milked down and there were plenty of Oreo cookie bits all up in it. Now when it came to my interesting sandwich I chose for the dinner, I’d honestly have to say the fries were the best part of that meal due to the fact that the veggie patty wasn’t all that great and the cheese tasted pretty cheap and old. Even with that being said, I know that if I came back to try some of their breakfast plates AND another milkshake, I’d be at least 99% pleased with my meal. Kudos to you guys for the great customer service, great atmosphere and top notch milkshakes.
