Elizabeth Basham, MD

I hate going to doctors offices, but Dr. Basham put me at ease. She is very personable but also straight to the point. I had a complicated issue and she was the first to correctly diagnose it.

Dr. Basham was recommended to me by another reputable female internist. I needed a second opinion for a problem that was scaring me and my current long time gyn wasn’t listening and had clearly decided I was just a peri-​menopausal worrier. Dr. Basham was so good about not only listening to the medical problem but the quality of life impact. I had two family weddings coming up and complex Board meetings in my job and I needed to solve the problem that had been going on for more than a year. Dr. Basham got to the bottom of my bleeding issue and really helped move things along quickly — which is hard when surgery is required. Deni Gilbo the surgery scheduler and Riscia Dr. Basham’s assistant are all excellent as well. My husband and mother were with me for the surgery and they were really impressed with Dr. Basham as well. She is a rock star surgeon and a really pleasant doctor. I wish I could go to her for everything. I trust her completely.

I was relocated to the Bay area, and needed a new gynecologist. Los Olivos Women’s medical group was recommended highly to me by a friend. I read the profiles of all the doctors, and selected Dr Basham.
I could not be happier with my choice. I felt a connection with her right away — we met in her office prior to my exam, and she encouraged me to ask questions. I have never had a doctor make me feel quite so comfortable. She also gave great advice on some questions I had. Highly recommended if you are looking for a obgyn

I totally recommend Dr Basham. I was very nervous in my search of a female gynecologist. I was new to the area and looking to get pregnant. So I needed to feel extra comfortable with THE doctor I choose. The first visit was very intimate and explained everything in Detial and didn’t feel rushed at all. The experience during my pregnancy was also very pleasant. She was caring and very attentive. During the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy I had to visit her almost every other day due to my high blood pressure. She had to go out of town for a conference but was very worried about me so she did my c section on her first day back which was her day off. She was there every day of the 5 days that I was in the hospital. She was very professional and caring. I totally recommend Dr Basham
The one thing I didn’t really like was that when you call her office you always get an answering machine. They do call you back but it’s a bit annoying when you always get the answering machine

I have been a patient of Dr. Basham for several years and I think she is awesome. She even tolerates my attempts to be amusing while in the stirrups. I have recently brought my older teenaged daughter to her as well. My daughter REALLY appreciated the fact that Dr. Basham was very matter of fact. When I had my tubes tied, I was a little afraid (I am afraid of anesthesia) and I will always value how she held my hand as I went under.
I highly recommend Dr. Basham and the LOWMG staff.

After two visits at Los Olivos Women’s Medical Group, I highly recommend Dr. Basham. She seems young, but very competent. She has a no-​nonsense demeanor, which I personally think is a good thing in a doctor. She may not be warm and fuzzy, but I found her to be caring and considerate. I had to have a painful procedure done and she explained everything and was encouraging and reassuring. I also brought up an emotional (and probably irrational) concern, and she was respectful. Another doctor could have been dismissive, but she was matter-​of-​fact about it.
I felt that Dr. Basham treated me as a partner in my health care. She took the time to educate me about my options and let me make the choice that was best for me. I am glad to have found an ob-​gyn that I like. I wish she could be my regular doctor, too, but I asked and they only handle women’s reproductive health issues at Los Olivos.
