very simple and very tasty! I got a bowl with half veggie and half chicken, had good enough chiken in the bowl! I loved it! ^^

I swear I wrote this review already, but maybe only in my head… We’re lucky to have food trucks at work and I was excited about Yalla since it advertised gluten-free options. I went to the line and was grateful I didn’t have to wait too long – I ordered the falafel and chicken combo for $ 8. It was SOSMALL! The salad bed under it was all soggy and the sauce was leaking through the thin paper bowl so that it could’ve fallen out if I did not hold it carefully. The chicken was not tender nor moist. The falafel was the only thing alright. And, there were spicy peppers in here, they should have noted that since not all can eat spicy. What a GIP for the tiniest little bowl, not to mention they charge $ 2 extra for hummus. I will never eat here again.

Not worth it! First off all seven of my friends and I ordered from the truck and they got the order wrong/did not add extra charged items. When we brought it up no attempt to resolve issue was made and just received attitude that it was our fault. Food was bland and underwhelming. I will recommend this truck never come back to our location.

Ordered the half falafel and half chicken yalla bowl topped with feta cheese. The chicken was not shredded and came in huge chunks, which subsequently made it dry and unappealing. The falafel was just okay… I’ve had better. The hummus with pita bread was really good.

I enjoy falafel, though I have not had it in quite some time. I decided to try a classic falafel sandwich with feta and hummus added. I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it was. The pita was very soft and easy to chew. Sometimes I find them to be a bit tougher than I care for. The hummus was very good and the falafel so tasty. I almost passed up the truck as they we have them every day at work and it gets a bit expensive. I enjoyed it so much I went back out to let the guys know just how much I enjoyed it and I do not bother doing that unless I really thought it was something special to me. I am very glad I did not pass up the Yalla Truck and encourage everyone to give them a try.

Best falafel I’ve had in my entire life. Light and crispy. I am going to have to follow this truck!

I had a chance to grab a falafel sandwich from the Yalla truck during FYF Fest. There were a lot of options for food, and it was nice to have something a bit lighter for a hot day. The classic falafel sandwich was $ 10, which was a lot for falafel, but not too bad for festival food. It was a really large pita, stuffed full with flavorful falafel and a bunch of other stuff. I wish I had gotten the Greek version because I think those flavors are just more my style, but it was still really good.

Was very excited to try this food truck, not because of the Unilocal reviews but because there are many choices near my work and this was a fresh change. Sadly after waiting a while for my order(they forgot to do it or something?) it wasn’t nearly as good as I hoped. And I’m easy to satisfy and rarely give bad reviews… Bummer

So I decided to check this place out because it was hidden behind all the other food trucks at AX. It was certainly a nice surprise, since I didn’t see this place on the official list of food trucks. I ordered a falafel wrap, and compared to most street food portions, I thought it was pretty huge. Defnitely worth it for 8 dollars. The pickled vegetables were nice and they complimented the light tahini sauce. The falafels were pretty awesome. They were nice and crunchy, though maybe they could have used a little bit more seasoning. Overall a pretty satisfying lunch, and I hope that they have a better location next time so more people are able to find it.

Alan and Mike just served 40 of our employees in an hour and everyone raved about the flavor, options, and portions. Fries were mouth watering. And the healthy options left everyone happily in an afternoon food coma. Willl definitely be calling on them again in the future.

Enjoying the falafel sandwich with all the fixings… Cabbage, tomatoes, onions, turnips and of course tahini sauce! Lots of lemon and zing to it which brings life to the sandwich! The falafel has a great crunch to it! I had them as hot sauce and it rocks! I’m a sucker for food trucks and they’re parked at my work this evening! It’s a welcome surprise! Simple and awesome! Thanks for being in the right place at the right time!

Huge fan of this truck. I had it maybe 4 years ago in Hollywood and have been searching ever since. They pulled up next to my office today and I was beyond happy. This is a healthy food truck, which is beyond rare. It’s normally fried pork smothered with sugar. The chicken is all white, has fresh ingredients and came out in about a min. Follow these guys, it’s really good.

Consistent and reliable, tasty chicken and falafel. I always order the same thing, 50⁄50 bowl southwest. I say it in that order. I get this in a bowl maybe 50% of the time… Pretty sure the people taking the order stop listening after 50⁄50 and are busy scribbling and ignore the rest. Maybe I need to say BOWL first, or say it like BOOOWWWWLLLLL. I probably go to this truck maybe once a month or so.

Here for Ciclivia and the food trucks were running low on food options. This place seemed to have something I could enjoy and I had the falafel pita greek style. The falafel itself was absolutely delicious and wonderfly spiced but that’s when the good things I have to say stops. The tzatziki had no flavor and the use of black olives in this sandwhich is not correct, they should have been kalamatas. It was pretty underwhelming except when I took bites of the falafel. Too much red onion which overwhelemd the sandwhich. Will avoid in the future.

I guess I would eat this again. Not sure what to make of what I just ate. A chicken bowl by name. I didn’t finish it. Loads of chicken that will keep me full the rest of the day. The cabbage, onions, cucumber, tomato(wait, was there tomato?), pepperoncinis, olives, and tzatziki sauce made for a soupy mess. I live for tzatziki, and I was not into this. Felt like something I could make myself. Someone else noted the presentation. I don’t expect much from a food truck but this was pretty shoddy. I’d probably try the wrap if I was in a jam again.

Yalla makes me holla! It’s hard to find vegetarian food, much less good vegetarian food, in the world of food trucks. Had a falafel pita with a side of fries that totally met my expectations. Falafel is not easy to perfect, by it is seriously very well made, surprisingly so from a food truck. In the future, seeing this truck in a line of other food trucks will definitely put a smile on my face :)

Tasty food. I got the classic wrap with half chicken and half falafel. Next time I think I would get the classic falafel bowl — the chicken was good, but the falafel was better.

Suzie Q’s Fun Fact: «Yalla» is an Arabic(and later, Hebrew) colloquialism meaning«come on,» «hurry up» or «let’s go.» The word originates from an abbreviation of classical(traditional) Arabic words«Ya Allah,» literally meaning«Dear God.» =≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅≅ This was my first time eating at Yalla Truck. My office brings in 2 food trucks a month for a little lunchtime variety, and today, it was Yalla. At first glance, Yalla Truck doesn’t seem quite as exciting or unique as some of its funkier, trendier brethren(like the Grilled Cheese Truck, or the fusion Kogi Truck, or Coolhaus if you’re craving dessert). Yalla’s menu is straightforward: Pick your format(bowl, wrap or sandwich); Pick your protein(falafel, chicken, or both); and pick your salad(«Yalla» with shredded cabbage, pickled turnip, onion, and tahini sauce; «Greek» with essentially the same veg, plus pepperoncinis, olives, etc.; and«Chipotle» or something, with southwest flavors and sauce). I ordered a Yalla bowl with ½ chicken, ½ falafel for $ 7.50. They asked if I wanted feta cheese with that. Smelling a rat, I said«does it come with my bowl, or is it extra?» and he responded, «well, it’s .50 extra, but it’s worth it!» I declined. I saw the patron after me in line fall for the feta cheese option without even asking if it cost extra. I’ll bet that’s how Yalla makes most of its money. Meanwhile, the food: they do give you a sizeable portion… but my bowl was comprised mostly of cabbage and onion, with not all that much protein. It was also incredibly salty(was it the pickled turnip? It was hard to tell). And the presentation was awful, with the salad mounded on top of all the protein; you have to dig deep to even find the chicken and falafel. Plus, the bowl is so narrow and deep that half of its contents fell out onto the table as I prospected for protein. Why not a wider, shallower bowl, Yalla Truck? Ever think of that? I have a feeling that a wrap version of this meal would have been less salty and more satisfying, only because the bread would have absorbed some of the salt. But those, like me, who are trying to cut down on carbs shouldn’t be penalized; not if a bowl is a standard menu option. Next time, I think I’ll stick to the Century City mall food court’s Massis Kabob, which offers a much more robust menu with fresher flavors, a larger serving of protein, more types of veggies, and a much less jumbled presentation. For the same price or in some cases, even lower. But if I’m in too big a hurry to leave my office complex, I suppose Yalla Truck — when it happens to be here — is a fine alternative. I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. (Personally, I think food truck grub can be overpriced and pretty darn overrated, but you can’t fault the option for convenience).

I had the Falafel with the Chipoltle option(Andale) on a pita. Wow! it was super good and only $ 6. The service was excellent. They are really friendly and on top of things. I skipped the pickled carrots, only because I don’t like pickled things. Being vegetarian it is not always easy to eat at the trucks, but they not only have vegetarian they have vegan options too. You can have your food in a wrap(pita or tortilla), a bowl or a sandwich. They also have fries and hummus. I’ll definitely try the sides when I come next time.

I was walking down Food Truck Ave. in Santa Monica for my lunch break and the Yalla Truck caught my eye right away. The line was short but the wait. .. not so much. You would think, hey its pretty much a salad. .. how hard is it to toss? I wasted a good chunk of my lunch break waiting. The staff working was a-okk but, definitely not my friendliest encounter. I ordered a Grigora(Greek) Chicken Sandwich, which came with tomato-cucumber salad, onion salad, green cabbage salad, pepperoncini, black olives, and a tzatiki sauce. I also opted for feta cheese because they give you that option when ordering and my total came out to $ 7. I also ordered that fries which was another $ 3. So for a whopping $ 10 I was hoping for something a little worthy, worthy it was not! The sandwich was pretty big, the chicken was somewhat tender, the ingredients seemed fresh but the tzatiki sauce had NOFLAVOR. The sauce is what is suppose to bring it all together and it just failed miserably. I’ve had my fair share of tzatiki sauces and that one was definitely at the bare bottom. The fries on the other hand had amazing flavor. They seasoned them perfectly and were nice and crispy. However, I only had a few of them because they weren’t settling well with my stomach. Overall I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again. For what I was paying the food was just not worth it.
