i thought i was the only one who had the blurry lense problem from them. When I brought it back, the young man working there made a comment for me to go see an eye doctor because I probably had an eye problem. I was appalled at his attitude. However, Nicole tried to blame the angle of the frame — that I was seeing blurry because of my flat asian nose. So, she popped the lense onto a different frame, which I had to pay additionally for… what choice did I have to salvage the money I already spent. Even after the new frame, it was a bit blurry. Seriously, I could even see better with my old scratched up lenses! The quality of the lenses are questionable. I guess you get what you pay for.

Wynn Optical barely qualifies as a legit eye wear store; first of all, it’s in Chinatown, secondly, they make you sign a ton of waivers in the event that THEY f*ck up, and third, I’m guessing they don’t run their operation out of a real high quality optical lab. This place seems to prove the adage: you get what you pay for. It is very very cheap, but you run the risk of them doing a crap job or worse, destroying your frames. I bought some Wayfarers for dirt cheap in downtown, tax-free and needed to get prescription lenses placed in them. I came here and against my better judgment, signed some waivers in the event that they broke my brand new frames, which I thought was somewhat shady. The lenses were ready in a day which I thought was very quick. However, when I tried them on, the color on the plastic was ROSE instead of brown and way too DARK. I had asked for the same color as the originals and they were NOT. It took some arm twisting to get Nicole(who at first gave me a bunch of excuses about how plastic was a different material than glass so the color was different) to agree to lighten the lenses. I was satisfied with the final results, but it was not really an enjoyable experience. In the end, I’m not sure if it’s really worth it, even with the money I might have saved coming here. I’m nearly blind without my glasses and need high-index lenses, so I expect to pay a ton of money whenever I get new glasses. I paid about 120 altogether, which seemed like a decent deal but really not that much cheaper than my optometrist.

Product Rating: Zero Stars Customer Service Ratings: Five Stars Prices: Five Stars So, what does that mean? Why do I give this location 1 star? First of all, because a chinese lady named«Nicole» led me to believe that she was giving me a wonderful deal by first dropping the price of a pair of glasses by $ 20, then, $ 40 and finally $ 80 and she would throw in a free set of lenses. Most legitimate eyeglass locations require a prescription to produce a pair of seeing eyeglasses, to do so without a prescription would be FRAUD and against medical board practices. While I was caught up in the happiness and gratitude towards Nicole for the GREAT deal, I didn’t stop to think about how legitimate the whole situation was? I was obtaining a pair of $ 300 Marc Jacobs glasses for $ 200, lens included!!! It wasn’t until I put on my amazing pair of brand new designer brand glasses that something didn’t seem right. I kept seeing blurry. «Nicole» told me that this was because of the new frame. But I insisted that the Channel frames that I purchased from Lenscrafters where the exact same shape! I even showed her a picture! She insisted, no they’re wider. Then, she went back and told me that it was because they weren’t anti-glare. And, after this, she insisted that it was MY fault because I didn’t know my prescription. The same prescription I’ve had for 15 years!!! After this, she ripped the glasses out of my hands and told me to leave. That if I was causing so much trouble over a pair of glasses that she had gone out of her way to discount it. She insisted on me giving her back my debit card because she wasn’t going to give me the glasses. And so, I handed it to her. After that, I asked her for the receipt of the refund. She said, no purchase no receipt. No transaction. But after this lady started acting out of control, the only thing that would make me feel at ease after she’s stuck her greedy little claws into my bank account. I took the«fake prescription» off of the glasses tray and tucked it into my back pocket. She started screaming at me to give her back her receipt! WHAT??? She’s denying me a transaction receipt showing a charge or refund… she’s holding my debit card hostage… and now she’s screaming, I mean SCREAMING at me at the top of her lungs to give her back her receipt. I ran out of there with her husband yelling at me that they’re going to call the police. What are they going to tell the police, I thought? That they have fake goods and MY debit card that they wont return… I kept running. I got online to my bank’s website from my cellphone and cancelled my debit card. Then, on Monday I filed a dispute for a refund. I’m on the verge of reporting this group of frauds to the optometrist board, etc. etc. Stay away! The reviews on this page are probably from«Nicole» and her husband. Mine is not. Stay away and be careful. So, if you want cheap prices, excellent customer service, and junky products! Go here… but the thing is, the moment you call Nicole out on her bluff, you’re going to unleash a demon!!!

So after a long time without glasses. I finally decided to be a member of the geek club. I had my eye exam in Koreatown then came to Chinatown to get prescription lenses. I already had my own frames so I popped in and everything was so simple and affordable. My lenses came out to wait for it… $ 30 in just one hour! I dropped them went home did laundry, talked to roomie, cleaned room then headed back to dear Chinatown to pick them up. If you don’t have frames not to worry they have a great selection there for great prices.

This place is FANTASTIC!!! I’m Asian, so it’s very hard to find frames that will stay up on my nose, but they have a great selection of «Asian Fit» plastic frames. The saleswoman was also great, helping me sort thru their vast selection and suggesting items that would fit my face well. I went on Black Friday and got 2 pair of Gucci frames at a HUGE discount Best of all, I got 2 pairs of glasses done in about an hour. I would fly back from NYC to get glasses here again!

I am a no bullshit type of girl by any means. I love it when business owners are the same way too. I came here with a pair of vintage frames that no one was willing to do because the lenses are shaped a special way. The owner said it would cost $ 60 to do them including the lenses because they had to be done in a special lab. At Hotel de Ville, they said it would cost $ 135 for the special procedure alone, and that wasn’t including the lenses. I opted not to fill my vintage frames, but my regular frames instead. It cost $ 30 to fill them, $ 10 extra because I had oversize frames, and then I opted to have a darker coating on them to make them like sunglasses. $ 10 extra for that. Overall, I paid $ 50, but thats nothing compared to soooo many other places. The best part? It took an hour to do everything. You want something quick, effortless, and inexpensive? Go to Wynn Optical Express.

A day after getting a prescription slip i looked up this place on Unilocal and just figured to give it a try. I looked at a few places before actually walking in the door to the establishments, so i walk into this one, and i am glad i did. The turn around time is extremely fast, and if your leaving on vacation or need a pair asap then this is the place for your. Paid a total of $ 115 for something that would have cost me anywhere from $ 150 — $ 280 at other stores. I actually went back a few days after getting my glasses to get a new frame only because when i first picked out a pair of frames the first time, i was naïve and in a hurry. Anyhow, Nicole(the young lady behind the counter) was very helpful from day one, i even forget a pair of sunglasses and she called me the very same day to let me know they had them and they will be there to be picked up as soon as i returned. So if you need glasses and are in the market to get a set for a reasonable price, i would say you need to check this store out for yourself. They have name brands as well. Parking is tight, either on the street unless you call ahead and if your not taking that long they can accommodate you in a small lot a few doors down.

This tiny shop has the best deals on lenses. Their plastic lenses are $ 30 and anti reflective coating for only $ 30 more. Other optical stores were charging $ 50 for just the lenses and $ 50 more for the anti reflective coating. And they’re fast — it only took three days to get them done. There’s no optometrist on site so you’ll have to bring your prescription from elsewhere. They also sell sunglasses as well. But I’d be a little careful about buying their name brand stuff. Nothing against them, but this is Chinatown after all.
