Dear Pretty Ricky, I, from the bottom of my heart and my clogged arteries would like to thank you for another magical KBBQ dinner in which you lost your title of grill master. That’s right, Rick lost his title to our waiter who grilled most of our meats & non meat items. Woo is a small joint compared to the other in K-town. Most of the tables fit no more than 4 peeps each and the ventilation system does its job nicely. The décor is simple not fancy which i dig. When we arrived, the waiter threw down some whole cow stomach & intestine this was the whole shebang not like the little tiny pieces you get at other KBBQ places. He brought out a ton of side dishes for us to munch on and never once did he give us flack when we requested additional rice paper, salad, and meats such as pork belly, marinated steak, and other goodies. We were treated like royalty and most of our meats were grilled for us(hence Ricky losing his title). I think some of the other patrons were jealous of our VIP treatment or maybe they thought we were newbies to KBBQ. We had a really good night with some cool friends and some kick ass KBBQ.

Yup, that’s right! You didn’t see it wrong. I just gave it another 5 stars. My table was treated like Kings! I mean I’m surprised, but in a very happy way. It’s a small restaurant. There are only 10 tables with 4 seatings in each of them. Only 2 were working at the front, and the waitor really took care of us. I was the first to arrive and at first it was empty, only one table with 2 patrons were in the joint. «Is this woori? the kbbq?» They smiled and welcomed me in, that’s when I know it’ll be a great dinner. Initially I asked to be seated first and then have the banchan while I wait for the rest. «Sure. How about I start the grill first and bring out the cow stomach, since that takes a while, by then it will be ready when the rest are here» Oh sweet! At that time, I was still in awed! Few mins later, the fellows showed and more patrons came and filled up the next 5 tables. The waitor really took care of us. He brought out the different kind of meat one by one, and grilled it for us throughout the dinner. At one point he even said, «You guys are slow, not fast enough. This is an all you can eat joint.» Ain’t that priceless? It’s like another KAPOW! Oh, they didn’t even run out of the rice paper which other joint normally do when we asked for more. Anything we asked, they kept coming and coming, sometimes they even pushed us with more until we eventually threw in the towel and called it a night. For a 16.99, this is my gem. What made it even more special? Besides the excellent service, marinated ribs, regular ribs, brisket, and pork belly, they served cow stomach and intestines! It’s so good that i’m still hurting and is that even possible?

The beef is very good for a $ 15AYCE joint. On the other hand, the selection is limited and changes from time to time. When I went recently, their offerings were thinly sliced beef, unmarinated rib meat, cow intestines, and pork belly bacon. Gone were the marinated chicken and cow tongue from my last visit. I liked their thinly sliced beef this last time, although I usually prefer the rib meat for Korean BBQ. I also liked the pork belly too, but some might not like the smell or taste of the insides, which tastes kind of like pork liver. It’s also pretty chewy. The grill is a butane-powered one, and you definitely come out smelling of smoke despite the huge windows of the house(Yes, it’s in an old house), and ceiling and floor fans. Also, since the grill sits a bit high, oil can definitely splatter onto your clothes and sometimes into your eye! The restaurant staff uses butter to oil up the grills and also help in the cooking the meats. In addition to the meat, they serve a decent salad, a steamed egg dish, and a variety of side dishes. The side dishes are pretty good, which includes daikon, bean sprouts, and kimchi; my memory fails me for the rest of the dishes. And you get two sauces with raw garlic, green chilies, a soy paste(?), and rice paper. I had to ask for sesame oil on this recent trip. Service was pretty good, and in my experience, better than at Soot Bul Gim Rim 2 when SBGR2 has a button for service. They had no problems seating our large group on both occasions(10+ diners) and accommodating young children. In fact, they’re very considerate about kids. I wish this place had marinated rib meat, which I heard it had at one point. It would really synch the deal. The parking is excellent for Koreatown, in my opinion. You have to deal with tandem parking, but they’ve got their own lot and there’s no parking/valet charge.

Another wondrous 15 dollar all you can eat joint made possible by the glorious people of Korea. This place is much better than Manna in my opinion because the meat isn’t frozen onto the serving plates and you don’t smell like a dead cat after you’re done eating. The salad is also better than Manna’s, and you get all the egg and banchan you want. the only downside is that the oil splatters on you from time to time, BUT you don’t smell. so i guess oil splatters are okay.
