Decent food for basically a fast food joint. A lunch staple for me with them located across the street from my job in the Los Angeles Mall. Today, I had one of my favorites here, the Chinese Chicken Salad with sweet and sour sauce. You can choose between dark and white meat, I change up from time to time. I’d also recommend their combos, with your choice of rice or noodles and two items. I almost always choose the Chow Mein. And their chicken items are all quite tasty; BBQ, Orange, Hibachi, Kung Pao and Lemon. The Spicy Tofu is also very good as well as the Green Beans when they’re available.

Best Chinese Chicken salad ever! I get the sweet n sour dressing. I crave this on weekends sometimes. I’ve been coming here for over 25 yrs now. This salad is so good it has its own line! You don’t need to wait in the food line if this is all you’re getting.

Basically your run-of-the-mill express Chinese restaurant nestled in the very back of the LA Mall. You’ve seen this kind of place before, probably more generically named, but still giving you that unknown feeling of whether or not you’ll feel sick in an hour if you decide to eat there. Rest assured, I’ve gone here a couple times now and I have yet to find myself cringing in fetal position. I believe their popularity, at least among other restaurants nearby, comes from the amount of food they give you for the price. For like $ 7 – 8, they quite literally pack it to the brim with 2 entrees and your choice of carbs(rice/noodles). Some of the more popular entrees are definitely some of the heaviest. The orange chicken doesn’t taste all that bad but is heavily battered and sauced which makes for a really soggy dish. The bbq pork is good if you can get a fresh batch, if you let it go too far down, you’ll mostly end up with super chewy end pieces or just fat. The chow fun is a bit oily and is good to an extent; just do a half portion with like brown rice or something. I usually stick with the teriyaki chicken and the brocolli. For those that eat their meat with preferences, the chicken is all dark meat. They also offer to-go chicken salads which really aren’t all that bad. Definitely a quantity over quality kind of place. I would only recommend this place to those that have jury duty, have run out of things to eat within the area, or want a salad. Earnestly speaking, I would rank it a notch below Panda Express, but a notch above your local Hong Kong Express.

I have been a big fan of this place for a couple of years now, and have only recently found out the name after I asked for a business card last week. The Wok Inn is located in the LA Mall(which is not really a mall), with a few other food joints, including a Carl’s Jr., Japanese and Mexican food places, and a Robek’s juice among others. There is no ambience to this place, as it really is just a part of a food court. Also, don’t be surprised if you are sitting inside and someone comes up to you and asks you for money. Because I work across the street, it’s a convenient location for me and others who work near the LA City Hall and the Federal buildings. A coworker recommended this place for their Chinese chicken salads, and they are great! You get a healthy-sized(large!) salad, with lettuce, crispy noodles, crispy wontons, scallions, and your choice of either white meat, teriyaki-style, or crispy chicken. The white meat chicken salads are usually pre-made, and is the typical kind of grilled chicken you will see on a chicken salad at most places. The teriyaki and crispy chicken salads are usually made to order and feature the chicken that they serve in their teriyaki chicken and lemon chicken dishes, are usually what I go for since they have a lot more flavor and are freshly made. The best part of any salad is going to be your dressing, and they have a great selection of home-made dressings, including Italian, ranch, poppy seed, honey mustard, lemon, and my personal favorite, sweet and sour! For 25 cents per additional dressing, you can mix and match dressings as you please. Share with a coworker if you are both looking for a lighter and healthier meal, as a whole salad with dressing is probably worth a normal meal in calories, but definitely worth it! I have yet to try any of their regular food, but the teriyaki chicken and the lemon chicken on their own are both delicious, with just the right amount of sauce, and I am sure that they’d be equally as good when served with the typical standard fare of white and fried rice, noodles, and egg rolls. So overall… The good: The salads! Get the teriyaki or the crispy chicken. You won’t regret it. The bad: Lines can be long during the lunchtime rush, even the separate salad-only line! Environment leaves a bit to be desired. The ugly: Cash-only places are a big pet peeve of mine, but sometimes I’ll bring cash just so I can have a great salad!

I’ve been eating here for years. It’s food court fast food, so of course I’m not comparing it to a sit down place. I’ll give that it is on the pricier side for a fast food place, but the portions are large and the food is comfort. These days, I normally get the chicken salad with the creole honey mustard dressing, and the salad might be simple, just chicken(choice of either regular or teriyaki), two types of wonton and lettuce, but the sauce is good. They give you an option of several types. They also have bow-tie pasta, which is also pretty good. When I don’t get a salad, I get the egg roll and lemon chicken. The egg roll is a guilty pleasure, with thick breading filled with processed meat. The lemon chicken’s breading is on the lighter side, which suits me fine. Their chow mein is a cut above the standard fast Chinese food, and their spicy tofu is pretty good, too.

Great chinese food! So much better than Panda. This is fresh chinese food compared to those other places. Even their salad dressing is to die for! It’s even their own special recipe. Want something cold and spicy, their spicy cold noodle salad is the best!

Decent mall Chinese food, reasonable prices. They’ve got your standard selection of noodles, fried pieces of meat drenched in sauce, a couple of sauce-drenched vegetarian dishes, rice, etc. Just walk down the line and point to what you want and they’ll scoop it into a Styrofoam container for you. They also have a couple of soups on the menu, but be prepared to wait for those(I think they cook it to order). If you want a quick meal, stick to what’s in the trays.
