Called and asked for my dozen donuts at 5:45am, I’m here at 6:19 and it’s still not ready. Lmfao this place is a joke! That’s why the tip jar is empty.

Excellent glazed donut. Good variety, friendly staff. The Winchell’s dozen looks like the way to go.

Heading out of LA decided to grab some donuts and Winchells was the closest. The fresh orange juice was fantastic.(Reason for the 2 stars) The donuts however, not only tasted like old oil but had no effort in appearance… frosting spilling over the edges and the glazed donuts, barely glazed. I never really experienced a «bad» donut until yesterday.

When I order a sandwich the ladies don’t like making them. That’s it. Everything else is cool. If you ask for a donut and coffee they are cool about that.

I like this donut shop and the people who work here. I just hate all the bums and beggers that crowd the donut shop inside and outside the shop! That’s the only reason why I give it a 3 stars. The OWNER and manager of this place needs to get better control of the business to make it a pleasant visit for MONEY spending customers. Other then that, delicious donuts :)

Service suck. They take for ever to make a bagel sandwich. Slow workers and they ignore customers.

I’ve had better donuts from those mom and pops places. Having said that, this place is always busy. Parking gets challenging because they don’t have too many parking spaces and there are a lot of homeless people hanging around near the area. This is DTLA folks. I appreciate that they have a security guard manning the area and helping people back in or out of their teeny tiny spaces. The ladies inside are always busy and they sure know what they’re doing. I always order a dozen and they always give me 2 donuts more for the total price of $ 8+. Keeping them techs happy and fat.

This Winchell’s was a godsend after seeing the Polyphonic Spree at the nearby Bootleg Theater. I wanted a little treat and this place was still open. After midnight, there were still a number of people inside. My apple fritter was similar than countless donut shops I’ve had, but kudos for opening so late though! I think it opens 24 hours.

This Winchell’s is just a walk away from the office so it’s pretty convenient when you’re wanting some donuts for breakfast. When you walk in, be aware that there is no formal line and remember who came after you so they don’t end up getting their order in before you. The ladies that work at this place have pretty good customer service; though it gets busy in the morning, they don’t rush you through your order. They make sure that they got your order right and they even check to make sure that you wanted a regular bagel instead of a sesame seed one. I’ve ordered the egg, cheese, and bacon bagel sandwich and it was alright. I wouldn’t get it again. Today I just ordered a regular toasted bagel with cream cheese and it was pretty good. Their cream cheese is room temperature and their bagel wasn’t toasted too much to the point of it cutting the roof of my mouth. It was perfect. I also ordered a Piña Colada Chilla and that was pretty bomb. The donuts are what you’d expect from a donut shop and they’ve been pretty fresh every time we’ve gone. I could imagine that by the end of the day, they wouldn’t be as well-stocked as they are in the mornings.
