I enrolled my son for Winter Camp. It was a HUGE dissapointment. My son is mild autistic(Mellow, not under medication, nor violent or hyperactive) regardless I’ve explained the staff that he needed some warming encourage, and he was not verbal, when I picked him up today, he was completely ignored unnatended laying down on the floor, the guy(I didn’t bother to ask for his name and he was not wearing any tag at all) that gave me the list to sign was telling me that they don’t offer one on one services which I knew that and my son follows directions since he’s been at school since he was 2 and now he’s 6! The employee also stated that my son had been left laying down the floor the entire day! When I pick him up he was very emotional and irritable … The main reason: He wasn’t fed!!! except for one small portion of broccolli I put in his lunch bag. everything else was intact: the breakfast, snacks, etc. He was so bad that I only went back to request a refund and still the guy told me that it was going to take over 8 weeks and they were going to deduct todays fee. I am sharing this for anyone else that might have special kids. This is not the right place. The staff don’t care at all, and it’s sad because the location is great, they shouldn’t say they welcome kids with disabilities.

Great playground and park. My kids have participated in the basketball and karate programs which are excellent. The library nearby is a plus.

I love the new structure they have put it. Very challenging for the older kids who are not interested in swings-n-things. It is also an enclosed park which is a huge plus. My only complaint is the sand… can anything be grosser than that?

The Wetchester Rec Center has recently upgraded the outdoor facilities. As a stay-at-home mom, this park is one of THEBEST in the area. The park is fully gated all around with access to clean [enough] restrooms within the gated area. The equipment is perfect for ALL ages. It really has some great new obstacles for older children, but has lots of pockets of fun for even my one-year-old. It is half sand and half rubber, so do come expecting a sand park. The nautical theme with whales and pelicans is a fun interaction for the tots too. OH, I can’t vouch for it myself, but they added a skate park too. It’s pretty large and as the morning went on, it got pretty busy, so I would assume it’s good. I included one picture of it from the playground. Located between the Westchester Gold Course and Loyola Library, this is a great park for the whole family, a quick outing, or go on a Wednesday for the farmer’s market as an added bonus! Enjoy! I know we do!
