My wife and I met at this bar a few years back and wanted to visit since the change. We loves our experience here last night. The view is priceless and the food was delicious. Such a great spot for a date. The dinner was delicious and for a Saturday night, it was full but not crazy full. Lobster and Truffle Mac is the choice for some appetizer and the salmon dish was soooo yummy. I like that the dinning area is separated from the lounge. We walked over for more drinks after donner and enjoyed the view again. I highly recommend Wesr for a special evening.

Hands down, my colleagues and I love this place for a Happy Hour. We visited last night, and let me advise you that a Gent by the name of Paul assisted us with the happy hour list of libations, and he was so attentive and efficient. This place lends itself for a romantic evening and/or meeting of the minds. All of the times that we have been here for lunch and/or happy hour there is always a nice crowd of people of all ages. All of the staff is inviting, and Paul did his part. Please visit around 430ish so that you may enjoy the amazing views this lounge has to offer. I LOVE L.A. and recommend those visiting us to give this place a whirl. You will not be disappointed.

This place is a not so hidden hidden gem off right off the 405 South. If you live in LA you roll by it 100 times… but you shouldn’t. You should STOP and head up to the rooftop of the Angeleno Hotel and feast your eyes on one of the best views in LA dining… incredible service by the likes of Carlos Sanchez, Brandon and Chef Laura. The general manager of the hotel {Scott) has done a killer job putting together an remarkable vibe and menu. It’s the perfect meet up spot for folks meeting between the valley and Westside or Westside and Hollywood. Travelers will enjoy some Southern(Californian) hospitality @ this spot. My wife and I are big fans of these guys. Check out her blog post at .

Terrific view of LA and the Pacific Ocean. Convenient if you’re staying at the Luxe next door or the Angeleno. Food is overpriced like most hotel restaurants.

Unilocal sure knows how to do an Elite Event! Thank you Brittany and the West L. A Team for another exquisite evening! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like superstars. I was expecting paparazzi as we pulled into the Valet area. We were handed a glass of bubbly, dashed onto the red carpet, and whisked to the top of the Angeleno Hotel for an elegant, sophisticated tasting of seasonal delights, starting with prosecco and continuing with a house created ginger bourbon mule. It was poured with a heavy hand, and free flowing. After meeting and mingling with the other Unilocal-EEs, we ushered into the dining room with a gorgeous view of the city. Unilocal swag adorned the dinner table. We received hip Unilocal portable battery chargers and a sachet of Unilocal rainbow post-its. We savored five courses of creative cuisine each with its own wine pairing. The wines were generously poured and definitely stand alones, as well as notable with its partner dish. I really appreciated the vegetable dishes which were delectable and well executed. The proteins were a little rare for my liking. My favorite course was actually the dessert of pot de crème. It was rich, decadent, and purely orgasmic. I would definitely return to the West Restaurant and Lounge for its ambiance and panoramic view. It is perfect for an intimate, romantic evening of strong cocktails, lovely wines and provision.
Thank you Patty S. for letting me celebrate your first Unilocal Elite Event Ever(YEEE-P, YEEE-P hooray!)

This was probably my favorite Unilocal event I’ve been to thus far. I’ve passed by this hotel hundreds of times in my life. It’s right off the Sunset exit, tucked into its own little corner. Hotel Angeleno lives up to his name. You can see to the beach and downtown LA and the Santa Monica mountains. What I loved so much about this event was that you can tell the entire restaurant was completely invested. We weren’t showered with perks and gifts, but we were simply presented with their best food(and a wine pairing with each). I was approached several times by the chef, restaurant manager, owner, and food and beverage director looking for suggestions and making sure I liked what I ate and drank. I told the food and beverage director what kind of drink I like, and he immediately came back with something I’ve never had but was perfect for me! Also, a special touch was when we were presented with a glass of Champangne as soon as we got out of valet. I posted a picture of the menu, but needless to say, I loved the detail and depth of flavoring of every dish. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the graham cracker lamb. The salmon was perfectly cooked, love the combo of the crispy skin and the soft meat. The live band was a spectacular addition to the atmosphere. It created sort of a swanky lounge vibe, without seeming snooty/pretentious. Loved the xylophone player! They were also really helpful in getting me to set up a happy hour event for my grad school class, thank you West for all your help! Thank you so much for hosting. I hope this event brings you great feedback and helps attract people to your location.

I came here for my first Unilocal event and it was an AMAZING experience! The view from the restaurant lives up to the name… Hotel Angeleno. The staff is very hospitable and the enormous attention to detail made us feel like royalty. We were greeted by a hotel host at the outside entrance(next to the valet drop-off) with a red carpet and a glass of Prosecco champagne. The restaurant is located on the 17th floor of the hotel and it has a spectacular view of the city. Chef Laura introduced the winter menu and Hotel manager was there to welcome us. We had a five course meal including dessert. First course: Cider-glazed scallops cooked just right(not chewey) with rainbow cauliflower over a bed of truffle parsnip purée was a great start to a perfect evening — while paired with Santa Ynez Valley 2012 Grenache Blanc. Second course: Small serving(perfect size) of Honey ginger salmon over a delicious bed of forbidden rice and shiitake mushrooms(my two favorite items on this dish) on a soy butter sauce — paired with a Napa Valley 2012 Viognier Miner White Wine. Third course: Duck confit(couple of slices) with cherry demi glaze over rosemary polenta and a not so crispy brussel sprout. paired with a wonderful California Pinot Noir, ZD, Crneros 2013 Fourth course: Graham cracker lamb over lavender honey grits, rainbow chard(not my personal favorite, but my friend loved them) and apple-garlic jam paired with a California Zinfandel, Easton from Amador County 2012 — which turned out to be my favorite wine of the night. Fifth course: Bailey’s pot de crème with a side of vanilla chantilly and shaved dark chocolate on top. The crème was smooth and the chantilly complimented it well. The Bailey was a little strong — but the nice cup of coffee complimented the dessert well and I very much enjoyed. All in all — the evening was a delight. There is a live band playing. The atmosphere is relaxing, the furniture is comfortable and ambiance is conducive to conversation. I recommend and I will be back.

I live ten minutes from Hotel Angeleno yet I never knew there was an upscale restaurant there until I recently attended an LA West Elite even at West! For food with a view I don’t think you can beat the scenery from this 17th floor restaurant and lounge. Sure the 405 stinks when you’re stuck in traffic, but watching the zooming white headlights and red taillights stand out again the night sky was mesmerizing and quite relaxing. West has it all — great views, a comfy lounge, a bar, plus intimate seating that would be amazing for a romantic date. At our Elite event we had a four course tasting menu that included Scallops, Salmon, Duck and Lamb chops. My favorite items were: the truffle parsnip purée; forbidden rice and shiitake soy butter sauce; sliced duck; and the perfectly prepared and buttery soft lamb chop. The dessert of Bailey’s pot de crème was decadent and rich. Also I’m a bread lover and the sourdough served at the table was delicious! I think West is the perfect place to go to relax and unwind with friends or take a loved one for a special night. They also have a brunch menu I want to check out. West is definitely more than a restaurant just for guests of the Hotel Angeleno. It’s perfectly nestled between West LA and the Valley so from either direction you’ve got a great restaurant to get a very uniquely Los Angeleno dining experience.

I was lucky enough to visit West for my first Unilocal Elite event. Getting to try out their fall menu was such a treat! The food was delicious. My favorite was the lamb, which was cooked to perfection. The wine selection was also fantastic. Plus, there is a live band in the lounge area! And, since West is located at the top floor of the Angeleno hotel, the views were pretty nice! Service was also superb. Carlos, our server, was very attentive and even shared with us a little bit about his home town. He made us feel very welcomed and taken care of. Overall, I loved West and look forward to going back!

I came here for a Unilocal Elite event yesterday and it was AMAZING! Located at the Penthouse floor of the Hotel Angeleno right off of 405, as soon as we stepped out of the elevator, we were greeted by friendly West Restaurant & Lounge staffs who led us to the check-in table. First thing I noticed about the West Restaurant & Lounge Los Angeles was how beautiful the place was and what an amazing view it had — even the crazy rush hour LA traffic looks beautiful at night from this place! Shortly after we got to have a look around the restaurant, we got to meet the hotel managers who immediately ordered us the house specialty cocktail and then really took their time to let us know about Hotel Angeleno and set us up a preferred guest card with a lot of awesome perks from free valet to discounted room rates to 15% off drinks & food which I definitely plan on using. Afterwards, we got to enjoy their live jazz while sipping on their cocktail which was Bourbon with cinnamon. We were then led to the dining area that was beautifully set up just for us, with awesome gifts for everyone — portable charger and post-its! My boyfriend and I got to sit in a small table just for us and got excited for the four course meal with wine pairing & dessert while we enjoyed yummy breadbasket. We ate all of these amazing food by Executive Chef Laura Scollan in very nice pace served by super friendly staffs and we were definitely stuffed and nicely intoxicated by the end of the meal. –1st course: cider-glazed scallops, rainbow cauliflower, truffle parsnip purée with Grenache Blanc, Curran, Santa Ynez Valley 2012 –2nd course: honey ginger salmon, forbidden rice, spicy haricot verts, shiitake soy butter sauce with Viognier, Miner, Napa Valley 2012 –3rd course: duck duo, rosemary polenta, crispy brussel sprouts, cherry demi-glaze with Pinot Noir, ZD, Carneoros 2013 –4th course: graham cracker lamb, lavender honey grits, rainbow chard, apple garlic jam with Zinfandel, Easton, Amador County 2012 –Dessert: Bailey’s pot de crème, vanilla chantilly, shaved dark chocolate I am for sure going to come back to Hotel Angeleno and West Restaurant & Lounge again for their superb hospitality!

Beautiful view, farm-to-table style dining, and a well curated California wine list make for an excellent LA hot spot. Visited West by invitation for a Unilocal Elite event and was blown away by the experience. The restaurant is located on the Penthouse floor of the Hotel Angeleno right off the 405 at Sunset. Street parking is few and far in-between in this area but valet parking is only $ 7 with restaurant validation or free if you sign up for their free rewards membership. The ambiance is upscale, chic much like many of the place in the Brentwood/Santa Monica area but I still spotted a nice«after work» crowd sporting loosened neck ties and such so it’s definitely a nice spot to get a drink before heading home. The view alone is worth the trip– panoramic views of the westside and it’s kinda nice to look at all the traffic and not be in it. For the event they assembled a four course meal with wine pairings to highlight their expertise in local, California offerings. All of their wines are curated from California wineries and their menu is based on in-season produce and proteins. This particular menu included a seared scallop, grilled salmon, roasted duck, and a lamb shank. Each protein was beautifully paired with a balancing vegetable like a parsnip purée or grilled cauliflower. The balance of flavors in all four dishes was incredible and the pairings were excellent! The lamb was my favorite because it’s more often then not overcooked and my piece was perfectly medium rare. The West is quite a destination. The service is 5-star, the menu is impeccable, and the drinks are great. I’m definitely bringing my girlfriends here for an elegant night on the town!

Stopped in for their daily 4 – 7 happy hour after visiting the Getty. Lured in for the great 17th floor view overlooking the 405 freeway and west LA. There’s valet or street parking across the street. Good ambiance — a bit more towards the classy side. Servers seemed busy setting up for dinner, so it wasn’t the greatest. but not terrible. However, it felt as though waiting on our table was something they did not want to do. Happy hour menu had several small bites and a few different wine, beers, and cocktails to choose from all ranging from $ 5-$ 7. We had the buffalo chicken bites and the tomato flatbread both of which I could have done without.

Great view of LA when the fog or smog aren’t intervening. Classy casual atmosphere from this circular 17th floor bar & restaurant. Nice wine selection. Simple menu but delicious. We had the lemongrass chicken and the lobster & shrimp cioppino followed by the chocolate lava cake with salted caramel ice cream and the black cherry ricotta cheesecake. The lemongrass chicken came with greens & saffron risotto. Delicious! Wonderful lemon flavor. The cioppino had less shrimp than calamari and ½ of a lobster tail. Good flavor in the broth, but far too many clams were sealed up tight. Overall, beautiful view and atmosphere with very good food. The desserts were both divine.

Ridiculously slow breakfast service. We had two single people in front of us and the hostess was excessively slow. I’ve been sitting here in the restaurant right now waiting 19 minutes for a simple hot tea. My husband got his latte before I got boiled hot water. We have watched people around get their orders taken and eating food but 19 minutes later I finally got some hot water. We had to flag down a waiter to take our order. After he took it he has to ask me again what did I want to eat. I then asked how long would it be since we have waited now 25 minutes and we needed to leave within 35 minutes he said I was free to go. If I wasn’t so dang thirsty I would have threw my hot tea in his face. So now 43 minutes later I finally have hot tea or order put in who knows if he got it right. And it sucks because more than likely we will be forced a tip surcharge as we are staying at this hotel as well. … And then the food came as suspected not what I ordered undercooked literally just got up and left and the«supervisor» barely took the time to ask my name or room#

Breakfast was included in the room package I booked at the Hotel Angeleno. It was the«American» breakfast, $ 16 per person. However, the server insisted we couldn’t get anything different, even if it was cheaper(but he said I could get something more expensive and pay the difference, which made no sense). Service was stunningly slow. Our food was fine but nothing great. And despite having the card to give the server each morning to comp the breakfast, I was charged for it one day and had to hassle with the hotel to get the charge reversed. Absolutely not worth going here to pay for a meal, that’s for sure. Oh, and the view is good — but the window next to me seat had(what I hope was) ketchup splattered above eye level even. Ew.

Today we tried this restaurant for dinner. We didn’t have any reservations however they made room. For dinner we had Halibut and Ribeye Steak. What could go wrong? Nothing. The steak was cooked to medium rare and the halibut was extremely tasty. Service was excellent. I have to say, this is a keeper.

The West Restaurant at the Hotel Angeleno in Brentwood is good. Actually 4 stars… The food is 3 stars and the view 1 star(amazing). My Real Estate office is on the Westside but I live in Agoura Hills so occasionally in lieu of traffic a nice meal beckons. I like the happy hour good food, good prices, good atmosphere and a spectacular view of the city and all the poor souls parked on the 405 freeway as I dine and relax above the fray… Dinner is good not great a bit on the pricey side but then again were talking Brentwood here even if it is a remodeled Holiday Inn underneath the facelift. The happy hour and view work great. On the other hand for dinner I would probably opt for much more creative and refined culinary options nearby in Brentwood especially at that price point.

Friendly and nice staff. Seemed like a formal setting but they made me feel comfortable considering I was a party of 1, sat at the bar solo, and was wearing jeans and zories. Brandon was welcoming and the bartender, Eric, I think was his name, were both nice. Ordered the ginger steak salad. Had a mild Asian spice. Was good. Also had a Cosmo, which was made well and pretty strong. Gave 4 stars only bc I don’t believe I should ever have to pay $ 14 for a standard Cosmo. Average glass of wine and cocktail drinks were at $ 15ish. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Had breakfast here twice and a late night dessert ice cream trio. The view from the restaurant(on the 17th floor of the hotel) is gorgeous. Breakfast #1 — Crab cake benedict. This was my very first time having a benedict of any sort. Sadly, I hate runny eggs and for the longest time I believed that the eggs in my egg mcmuffins were poached(FYI: They are not poached, they are fried). Poached eggs, in case you also didn’t know, have totally wet yolks. Ummm… gross. But I can’t fault them for my ignorance. The bacon and coffee were delicious. The crab cake… was not the best. Too corn-mealy(AKA not enough crabmeat) for my liking. Breakfast #2 — Buttermilk pancakes w/lemon curd and fresh strawberries. This was delicious. Great job. I got bacon to go with that too. Because bacon is the breakfast king to my café au lait queen. Late night dessert — I was unable to decide, so they brought me 3 types of ice cream because I didn’t want anything too heavy. Mind you, THREE ice cream scoops ISINDEED heavy and I was unable to complete even one… — Dark merlot/wine sorbet(SCRUMPTIOUS!!! I wanted to bring it back with me to Phoenix so I could lay on it while our temperatures steadily climb to the 110’s) — Salted caramel ice cream(a bit on the salty side… but still tasty) — Champagne sorbet(YUMMMMMMY!!! and oh-so-refreshing) All in all, I’d say that they did an A-OK job and prices were decent.

Sitting on the 17th floor of Hotel Angeleno, West Restaurant and Lounge offers sweeping, gorgeous views of the city. We sat next to the bar, at a table by the window overlooking Sunset Boulevard in the early evening hour. When we arrived, the quietness of the restaurant starkly contrasted the rush hour traffic outside. It was an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Everything on the menu sounded incredible but some of the specials sounded even better! Although almost everyone at the table ordered the Brentwood salad, I tried the seasonal soup of the day — sweet potato soup topped with prosciutto, cilantro, and crème fraîche. It was amazing! The soup was smooth with a bold sweet potato flavor. My entrée was the duck duo — five spice breast, confit spring roll, and sesame soba with an orange and plum sauce. This was excellently prepared. The slightly sweet sauce created a nice glaze over the noodles and complimented the seasoning on the duck well. For dessert, I had the hazelnut pot de crème. The vanilla custard was topped with a rich hazelnut spread and shortbread. It was delicately presented in a glass jar and quickly destroyed after I took the first bite! We all enjoyed eating at West as we admired the beautiful sunset. Our server was attentive, the ambiance was inviting, and the food was definitely on par with an upscale hotel restaurant. This was a great find!
