Stop. Do not order from this hell hole. There’s a reason for the low ratings. Terrible food. Terrible customer service.

Love this place for the best Chinese food I’ve had since I moved here from NY… Clean, fast and friendly service… We’ve tried most of their dishes and loved them all…

Really disappointed with my experience. Ordered a sweet and sour shrimp lunch special to-go. Rice was old and dry. According to their menu the lunch specials to-go do not come with the soup or salad but they still come with a wonton. But my order didn’t come with the wonton either. So $ 10 for a scoop of sweet and sour shrimp and dry rice. Food was not good and definitely not worth the price.

My office is walking distance to this Wacky Wok location and my coworkers always hit this joint to pick up their lunch. I was hesitant at first. Given that I’m from the Bay Area where the Chinese food is BOMBDIGGITY. Gave it a try and honestly the food is just mediocre. The prices are outrageous for the price you pay but then again it’s right by the airport in Westchester so what do you expect. Food is made to order so it’s never sitting out but the entrees are 11.95CHEAPEST. And this is for subpar Orange Chicken in a tiny little Chinese take out box. Not even the entrée size bento box. #OUTRAGEOUS. Came with a side of white rice and we also ordered the Pork in Garlic Sauce. Pork was decent, sauce was pretty tasty but then again 12.00 for a little Chinese take out box. You know the ones that fold on the top?! Edited: small portions but when I tried the seafood I was pretty impressed. Cool people who work there!!!

Everything we had was great! Green beans, general tsos, and chow mein were yummy and had tons to bring home between the two of us. Service was good too :)

Wow! Such delicious and creative Chinese food! This is an excellent spot for vegetarians, with some amazing tofu dishes! I highly recommend trying this place for anyone in the area. Favorites: Orange tofu and Kung Pow tofu.

New York and Chicago… East Coast vs Midwest… at least with pizzas. The two do share a common food… Chinese food. The immigrant Cantonese style of cooking is what I grew up with in Chicago. I had some time before picking up at the airport, and I saw their sign, «New York Style Chinese Cuisine». Glad I did. I had the egg roll and chicken fried rice. The egg roll was spot on. Big, thick and crispy. I am ok with the Tai or the other spring rolls, but nothing tops a Midwest/East Coast egg roll… and dipped into the mustard sauce… ahhhhh, there are my sinuses. The taste is the chicken fried rice was just how I remembered! Same taste. Only thing, the chicken in Chicago, is cubed white meat chicken. No biggie. Now, all you need is the classic Egg fu Yung! Absolutely no one here has the egg fu Yung the way it is to be(patty style with brown gravy). The only other place I know that has a sort of style of that is Hip Louie in Chinatown. Your business will boom when people know of the EFY!

I’ve been coming here for the past couple of years, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. The staff is hard working and always very friendly, even when the restaurant is very busy. The place is busy at both lunch and dinner, and there are always people ordering take out. Their food is also very requested for delivery. The food itself tastes great, and never had any problem. Always made fresh and flavorful. The kitchen is open, so you can watch the chefs while they cook. There’s always a tv on, so you can watch any sports game of the night. It’s a great place for those who work around the LAX area, or for people coming to drop or pick someone up at the airport.

The food had great flavor but the texture wasn’t what I really preferred for the Wacky Wok chicken and beef in their lo mein. Their hot and sour soup was decent.

Let’s look at the facts. It’s fast, it’s well priced, friendly, and has very decent flavors. My lunch special for under 10 bucks had brown rice, Szechwan Chicken, and a little salad, although it normally comes with a soup. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The sauce was a little too sweet for my taste, but overall a great dish. Like I said, the facts are the facts, friendly, fast, and quite enjoyable.

Being from New Jersey I had to come and check this place especially if they are claiming New York style Chinese food. A bit of a drive the restaurant is located near LAX. Not spacious but well kept. The staff are nice and friendly. The menu is basically the same at any Chinese restaurant. The difference is in the preparation of the food. I must say the food ordered is very close to NY style. I tried ordering off the menu items(Cantonese snails) but my disappointment they don’t have it. Nice place. I will definitely come back and try the other dishes.

I have not tried NY/East Coast Chinese Food, so I can’t compare. We ordered this delivery and it was pretty good. I enjoyed the Chow Mein, orange chicken and wacky wok beef. I will be ordering from them again! Quite tasty, good portions and better quality than panda express with a gourmet/restaurant feel to it.

Ordered delivery using Unilocal/EAT24…very happy with how fast my food arrived, being that I ordered several items. Food was hot & thai tea was cold & refreshing! Already I’m happy! Hooray! Right away I ate the NY style Eggroll-which was my favorite out of everything I ordered! Its oh so warm, crunchy & very filling — I actually stopped there & just picked at everything else… at least I have lunch for tomorrow now! ;) Tip: You can order the kung pao chicken as mild, medium, spicy or xtra spicy. Kudos: It was nice of them to give so many condiments… siracha, soy and duck sauce! Fortune cookies & almond cookies came with my order as well! Yummy!

I went back to this restaurant hoping to update my review with something positive. I’m sorry to say the food was possible the worse Asian American food I’ve ever eaten… Wish I took a picture. The presentation was horrific. I got the chicken and broccoli. Not a complicated dish. The taste made me want to vomit. Prices are way too expensive. Lunch special prices are a joke. Do not go here. On the positive side. The service wasn’t too bad this time around. And the food got to me in less then 3 mins(not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing at this point). STAYFARFARAWAY!!!

I was around the area so I checked Unilocal for lunch special and I was referred via this place. The prices on Unilocal are outdated as I gotten the chicken garlic with egg fried rice, salad and(soup if u dine-in) for $ 8.50. Over all, I really enjoyed the places it was clean, modern and had a New York feel to it, even tho I never been to New York, go figure.

Wacky Wok gets an extra star for sheer convenience — being that the LAX area is in desperate need of more(Americanized) Chinese restaurants. However, this place doesn’t exactly raise the bar when it comes to Cantonese-inspired cooking. The variety of lunch specials at WW offer some solid bang for your buck; the portions themselves are pretty substantial. For example, the Orange Chicken Lunch Special consists of a styrofoam container brimming with crisp chicken and«fried» rice(so to speak). Similarly, I ordered a Beef & Broccoli lunch serving not too long ago, and was surprised to find that my order consisted of two doggy bags filled to the brim with B&B and rice, respectively. Unfortunately, quantity does sometimes come at the expense of quality! The fried rice served at Wacky Wok doesn’t really taste all that different from the standard steamed variety. I’m not sure if it’s because of a lack of seasoning and/or sufficient soy sauce mixed in, but this take on Chinese-style fried rice lacks the savory taste that I’ve come to associate with well-made fried rice. It’s basically just some white rice that decided to go get a spray tan. As for the Beef & Broccoli, the classic garlicky flavor is there, but the dish itself was a bit too soupy for my liking. This may have been a result of the lone container used to package the stir fry, but each individual beef would quite literally drip with liquid as I lifted it out of the container. Some lunch special orders at Wacky Wok are accompanied with a lone wonton — but sadly, this practice almost seems to be carried out as little more than a formality. The wonton itself is dry — wafer-like, almost — and lacks any sort of filling whatsoever. In effect, it pretty much acts as a palate cleanser, and nothing else. So what, exactly, is it that makes the Wok so «Wacky?» My girlfriend and I have been debating the origins of the restaurant’s name for some time, but haven’t come to any answers. Is it the fact that this«New York» style Chinese food is such a long way from home? Or maybe the chefs like to crack jokes to one another in their spare time? Maybe it’s the mountains of rice that accompany each and every entrée order? My guess is that the wackiness comes from the fact that for as international, high-traffic and densely populated of an area as LAX there STILL isn’t a go-to«Chinese» style restaurant in the immediate area. You’re practically forced to venture to Chinatown, Alhambra, etc. if you’re truly trying to satisfy an(Americanized) Chinese food fix. This place will satisfy your hunger, but it wins points more for practicality than for innovation and/or excellence.
