Wow. I have never complained about a restaurant on Unilocal but this place is unbelievably rude. At first I was excited about eating here especially after seeing some of the good reviews but my appetite was ruined before I could even order, simply because the customer service is so off point.

Great food, very fresh, spicy and delicious! The price is reasonable and the service is good! Also a good choice to go there with the family, because they have big round tables with many chairs.

I was in the area and I decided to try Vims Thai food(Vims Style). It was absolutely delicious, the chicken with mint leaves was rich with spice and peppers, the Pad Thai was enough for three people(2 servings each) it was flavorful, and unique. The white rice was perfect, fluffy and huge! They supplied me with hot sauce soy sauce a good amount of napkins and soy sauce. I defiantly recommend Vims Thai Food!

I don’t understand why they’re called Vim If they are not affiliated with the Original Vim Thai restaurant in Hollywood! I moved to downtown and didn’t feel like driving to the Hollywood location so I went here instead thinking it was a partner location. I was craving beef broccoli and shrimp fried rice that I usually order at the Vim Hollywood location that I’m obsessed with lol, and I was so disappointed with their version of beef broccoli and shrimp fried rice. I felt deceived lol…

Oh the food is great and kids enjoy the food as well. Lines tend to wait for about 20 min but the dinning it’s worth it. People are somewhat kind of friendly. Parking is limited, but you can always tip the guy guiding traffic, to park your car.

Ok, first of all parking sucks. Second of all customer service is a joke. The server sagging his jeans to his knees was rude, lacked experience(literally no exp.) did not ask our party for any services, just looked at us like a child molestor. They got our order wrong then had it to go like if they wanted us to leave, and to top that said we weren’t allowed to share our plate we ordered. Every time we asked for a simple task like extra ice or a cup of water, they forgot!!! If you love crappy service and good food America this is the place for you!!!

Vims is owned by Ocha now, so everytime you go to Vims you have to ask for the Vims menu, and Vims Style when ordering. Or else your eating Ochas food in Vims. I’ve been coming here since I was a child, my uncle found it in the early 90’s when he worked in the area. This is a staple for the locals, every holiday there is going to be a line out the back door near the back parking lots. **notice every bad review was a first time visit and they didn’t get what locals get or long time customers, yes they have a big menu, but they have a fan base because everyone that’s been here more than 50 times in their lifetime know the gems pouring out of it! I’ve always loved their Pad Thai with shrimp(make sure it’s orange-Vims Style remember), Seven Seas Soup(make it spicy– and don’t be afraid if it’s not spicy enough, ask for more spice, and they’ll give it to you) always get steamed rice– my family puts it in our soup cup then pour the Seven Seas soup on top– wha la! We also mix the rice with the Pad Thai try it! The Chicken with Mint and Garlic is always on our list, and recently I tried Beef with Mint and Garlic– maybe like a little more(love to ask for spicy, occasionally I eat it regular and it’s still good– TIP-you have to sprinkle the sauce from this dish on your rice and Pad Thai – you won’t regret it. Tom Kah with Chicken is delicious, still remember being a picky little girl and curious because the grown ups loved it and tried it(so happy I did) and now I always debate getting this one or Seven Seas Soup! Also, always get the Thai Iced tea in a Togo size– it’s huge! Stays in my fridge and enjoy it every time I eat the left overs.- microwave bad, stove good So these are the items my family gets: Seven Seas Soup* Pad Thai with Shrimp* Chicken with Mint and Garlic* or Beef(: A order of steamed white rice* Thai Iced Tea Togo size* Tom Kah Togo for Grandpa* (Make any spicy, if you like it spicy, if it’s not spicy enough ask for more spice and they’ll give you some) Good news, I recently tried some new items because my friend doesn’t like Traditional Thai food(picky eater that doesn’t eat sea food) He loved: The Orange Chicken* The Pinapple Fried Rice w/Chicken* I never tried these and I loved them. Big portions! He was in heaven! Also, the day I came back from a Hawaii trip I tried the Coconut Shrimp– they were huge and delicious! As a long time loyal customer, I hope I helped you with the Vims experience and taught you some neat ways to enjoy your dishes! No extra soy– because everything compliments eachother. Park in the back in the larger lot at the end 5 bucks worth it(they let you keep your keys sometimes when it’s not crowded). Every portion if huge! FYI, sit on the Vims side, if they seat you on the Ocha side and you ask for Vims style they get bothered and sometimes give you Ochas style anyways, then it’s a longer wait time cause they messed up – bugs Ochas, but never bugged me ha, but I know it’s because the locals/loyals all want Vims! Btw– my family lives in Culver City, and we have no problem with the distance because it’s that good, perfect for special occasions, family occasions, after doc visits or small group outings– uncle back in the day used to eat here alone, imagine that, this was his 1950’s diner, always taking care of him:) Thank you Vims for bringing family together and not keeping us waiting forever when we come in a big group on holidays, — they accommodate pronto.

For the Thai lover this is the place for low prices and good food. The atmosphere is very family oriented and at this location 99% are Spanish speaking patrons. Tom Kah and Tom Yum are delicious, as well as the Shrimp fried rice and the Pat Thai… Be careful if they offer you a LARGE Thai tea… the large cup is like a gallon!, so unless you are to thirsty for your shirt, stick with the standard side.

Actually it’s called Ocha, I came here looking for a place I’ve been to that’s actually called Vim-Thai Chinese restaurant and was lead to this location. I thought I would give it a shot but unfortunately was disappointed. I only ordered the seafood soup, it tasted of nothing besides tap water and sour. I’ve had this soup at other places and I know it’s supposed to be sour, but usually the sour flavor comes from the lemon grass and it usually tastes of ginger and fresh seafood as well as; this soup was just BLANDBLANDBLAND. To top it off we were served by a guy who seemed to be the only male waiter, he was so inattentive compared to two other young ladies that were attending the tables around us. Definitely not worth the price either.

I have to say I like Vims. I’m not a big fan of the interior style of the restaurant but hey who cares the food is good. I’ve been here twice and their food is amazing. Their Thai Ice Tea is a must get every time I go. The portions of food is just the perfect size and for a reasonable price as well.

I wanted to go to Langers with my dad, but the line was way too long, so we wandered into K-town and ended up here. I don’t understand the high ratings for this place. I ordered a sausage and chasu pork fried rice and my dad ordered a thai curry beef dish. The fried rice was bland and mediocre at best. The beef dish was terrible. There was no curry flavor at all — they just used chili! They also used low-quality meat. It was super tough and almost inedible. We couldn’t even finish it. The only okay part of this dish was the green beans. Also, it didn’t come with rice, so we had to order that separately. On a side note, when we were walking out, we saw lunch special menus at the other tables, but they didn’t offer or mention it to us. For ~$ 20, you can get much better food elsewhere. If you’re looking for good authentic Thai cuisine, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Normally i don’t like fusion style, but this place is good. I’ve been there several times, the food is good and price reasonable. The fried crab leg dish is awesome! They even cracked it open so it’s easier for you to eat. Also the thai soup with coconut milk is just good. A bit sour, but i love sour flavor anyways. :D Curry is good for sure! rich and tasty. The taste is just right. But one thing, both their thai tea and thai coffee, both are way too sweet. OMG! I only sipped like 2 sips and stopped, it’s too sweet that i don’t even think of trying one more sip. All the drinks at our desk were wasted, none of my friends like that. But it doesn’t bother the good food! And i think the place has been expanded over the years, so you can always get a seat pretty fast there.

My wife & I were hungry. Saw some great reviews on Unilocal,so we gave that a try. Now my wife told me she will never read/try anything from Unilocal! Those who know about ‘Ocha Classic Restaurent’ know what I’m talking about. ‘Ocha’ has purchased ‘Vim’ & destroyed it completely. We ordered: 1.Thai Iced tea: Okey 2.Hot Shrimp Soup: extremely salty(EXTREME!!!), clear as water 3.Shrimp spring roll: again… salty, yet edible 4.Steamed rice: local rice, tasteless. not sticky… stinky for sure! 5.Shrimp Chow mien: 4 piece shrimps & greasy-oily stinky burned noddles 6.Squid curry: Awful! Squid tested like dried fish. We’ve tried many thai places & we don’t have any grudge against the owners, but seriously… if any1 likes this place… they should try some other places too(any other place)

Good Thai food in Koreatown? Yes please! For those days when I do not want to drive to Thaitown, I can walk for 30 minutes and come here! The pad see ew was huge and really quite good. I devoured it. And I think it was around $ 6 or $ 7. The restaurant looked like a remodeled diner, with bright red vinyl booths and mirrors all around. The service was average for a Thai place and I think they even give you some candy with the bill. Good food + Big portion + Reasonable price + Close to my house = Happy Meow Bird!

Went here for a quick dinner before I headed back to NoCal. Food was overall pretty good. We ordered coconut shrimp soup(technically not on the menu) which was great and different from any other version that I had had. We also had Pad Sei Yu(good), red curry(excellent), and Mongolian Beef(alright and different than others). Staff was very courteous and friendly. For example, they double checked how we wanted the bamboo shoots sliced for the red curry(brought out a sample). One recommendation is to ask for spicy. We made the mistake of asking for«medium», so the food came of bland and the Mongolian beef seemed to be as sweet as ketchup. I would go back again to test out the food when requested spicy.

First off this restaurant isn’t located in Koreatown, it’s actually Thai Town on Hollywood Blvd and Winona. The parking here sucks because it shares its parking in a small plaza with other shops. It’s usually crowded and people double park. If you choose to, pay attention to your car because someone will be hunting you down to move it. You can also try to find street parking. The food here is pretty good. They give you great portions. Some of my favorites here: seafood soup(great taste and a variety of seafood), the rad nah(yummy pan fried noodles with gravy, and even though it’s a little bit cliché’ but the pad thai here is pretty darn delicious too. Also, there is this appetizer which is like a pork jerky. The sauce that comes with that is off the hook, mildly spicy. This place is also great for take out if you don’t choose to sit in. If you come in during peak hours, the place will be packed. The price is very affordable as well.
