This book store has all sorts of interesting books as well as other items. Be prepared to look at books that not only discuss meditation and the eastern philosophy but also blends the Western philosophy of religion and Jesus within its theories.

Absolutely amazing bookstore and gift shop! You can find various books from all of the great major religions, incense, candles, prayer beads, jewelry, and so much more! Most of the items are made in India and are sold at extremely reasonable prices!

Read my other review about the temple please. Otherwise if you have a keen interest in Eastern philosophy, Vedanta-​Hindu philosophy. They also have a good selection of Buddhism, Gnostic Christianity and «New Age» literature. Plus incense, candles and craft items are for sale. Please drop in and chat with the staff that work here. They’re knowledgable and quite friendly. Please buy something too it’s a nice non-​profit gem of serenity in the midst of Hollyweird. Aum… Shanti. Peace…

This bookshop is one of the hidden treasure of L.A. Established in the 1930s, I’ve been coming here since the 1970s and it remains one of the best places to find books about Hinduism and other Eastern spiritual traditions in the Los Angeles area.
Whereas the Bodhi Tree Bookstore, (before its closing), offered a vast section of spirituality, covering all realms of the subject, this bookstore is far more focused on the spiritual traditions of India. What you find here is a large selection of books that have been directly imported from India. So, you can discover truly unique and informative information.
This bookstore also offers Hindu and Buddhist religious objects such as posters, artworks, jewelry, prayer beads and the like. So, it is a one-​stop shop for all your spiritual needs
