This is our go-to local taco truck. Valentino and his wife are very nice, and their carne asada tacos are just perfect. Very reasonably priced and a solid meal. I have a 12-year-old boy and he gets six at a time! The parking lot is a bit sleazy, but I usually bring my Rottweiler/German Shepherd and we take a walk while we’re waiting for our tacos.

Valentino’s Tacos Food Truck sure doesn’t seem to drive around much … as it’s always(like all-the-time, yo) parked in the Fox Market parking lot on Lincoln Blvd. south of Rose Ave. … and that is the good thing. Because even though Valentino’s isn’t the type of food you drive out of your way to discover, it is the type of cheap Mexican-style grub you want when driving by … especially if you crave a massive $ 5 burrito bigger than your hand and packed with Cheese, Beans, and Meat. The meat selection for tacos or burritos is typical at Valentino’s including Carnitas, Asada, Chicken, Al Pastor, and, my favorite, Lengua. The Tacos are even cheaper than the Burrito if you can’t tackle the monster-size Mexican wrap. The guy inside is quick and efficient. Because the truck is in a huge free parking lot, pulling in, getting stuffed, and heading back out onto Lincoln is easy. Valentino’s has classic L.A. food truck Mexican food at very good prices and a-ok quality plus Se Habla Burritos Gigantes.

I’ve had several different Carne Asada tacos from different restaurants in San Diego(they have, arguably, the best Mexican restaurants in America), Los Angeles, Riverside, Malibu, Orange County, and Mexico. Now, when I had the Carne Asada taco from Valentinos’ Taco Food Truck, I was blown away. It was seriously the best Carne Asada taco I have ever tasted in my life. Sure, the food truck itself doesn’t look super hipster like Kogi Truck or Meet the Greek or the Green Truck, but don’t judge a book by its cover. You need to go and check this place out!!!
