@TinosPizzaTruck Tried a couple of different slices from this truck. Tried the artichoke and the bbq chicken. They were both good but I feel they could have been better. As others have noted I found the crust to be a tad chewy, The toppings were good but they didn’t blow me away. The different combinations offered put them squarely in the gourmet pizza category but, they are on wheels and serve by the slice so that would put them in a different category. So instead of trying to pigeon hole them I’ll just judge it as pizza and not look at them comparatively. I would like them better if the crust was a little thinner and crispier. That’s just my preference though. Not everyone agrees on that point. But they’re good and besides, how many mobile pizzerias are there?

Sooo the pizza was good. It wasn’t spectacular. BUT, the service definitely was. I ordered the bbq chicken pizza combo(with salad and a drink for $ 10). They were all out of bbq chicken, and I was really upset, but the truck owner was super nice and made the pizza for me, special order. Talk about good customer service! The salad had homemade croutons which I loved. The pizza crust was perfect. It warm and soft on the inside, but perfectly crispy on the outside. I probably could have duplicated the main flavors of the pizza itself, but it was still a really good meal. and A+ to the truck owner. Great customer service is always an extra star in my book.

3.5 in my book! I was so full at the Santa Anita Food Truck Festival but I saw Tino’s & just HAD to try pizza from a truck. They only had a limited selection on their menu since it has the food truck festival but I still had a hard time deciding what to order! Narrowed it down to two & the dude in the truck recommended the BBQ chicken. Received my order relatively quickly. So my question is: do they make the pizza on the truck? I understand that they heat it up for you in the oven but… If it’s the former, it’s much more impressive. Overall, it’s good for pizza from a truck. I’m glad that their BBQ chicken pizza still has tomato sauce as opposed to using straight BBQ sauce all over(like BJs). The bottom had a nice crisp to it. Large squares with plenty of toppings. Flavor just wasn’t really there for me though. Eh, at least now I can say I’ve had pizza from a truck!

Had the BBQ chicken 2 weeks ago… similar to the comment below they merely put chicken on a regular slice of pizza. It didn’t taste like any BBQ chicken pizza I had ever had. That being said it was good, just not what I wanted. The crust was great and I’m not a crust person. All in all I’ll give them another try although prices did seem a bit on the expensive side for a slice of pie.

NOTBAD, BUTNOTWORTHTHEPRICE This truck comes by pretty regularly in front of our office building. THEPIZZA: They have a display window showing pizza of various toppings, much like you would find in a pizzeria, except all the pizza are cut into squares instead of traditional triangles. The good part is there’s a decent selection in terms of availability, so you’ll probably find a topping of interest. I’ve only had the BBQ chicken, so I can only form an opinion on that one. They pretty much just added BBQ chicken topping(i.e., chicken in BBQ sauce) to a regular marinara-based pizza. Most people know a real BBQ chicken pizza is one whose sauce itself IS the BBQ sauce, with chicken on top of that. For what it was, it wasn’t bad, however. The problem was the price. If you look at the menu, you’ll see a bunch of items for $ 7 and only the Margherita for $ 6. I asked the guy in the truck what I’m getting for those prices because it seemed odd that a slice would cost that much. He said you get a «personal size.» I’m thinking, so maybe one size below a small pie. I was skeptical, so I asked him to specify. He finally said, «One of those rectangles.» Ok, so basically $ 7 for a SLICE?!(The rectangles are about the equivalent of one regular NY slice, which should be roughly $ 3 for a «specialty slice,» no more than $ 4 for a very good pizzeria.) I don’t know of anyone who would take a slice and sell it as a «personal size,» unless I guess he really believed that’s what a personal size ought to be. Again, it wasn’t bad pizza. But I expected 2 of those rectangles for $ 7. If you look at the sign on the truck, it says«Pizza by the Slice,» so obviously even the company itself believes these are slices, so don’t let anyone convince you that one piece is more than a literal slice. THESANDWICHES: Not bad, with well-baked bread that comes out soft and warm. It’s good if you like pesto/basil flavor. I find that the layer of olive oil on top makes the bread too greasy, however. Also, for some reason, they take forever to make the sandwich even if the contents are cold ingredients(like the Caprese), probably because of the bread. It’s still better value than the pizza perhaps, but not by much. Overall, as Unilocal itself words it, «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» 2 stars.

The BBQ chicken pizza was delicious. I tried this truck at Union Station several months ago and the crust was delicious and crispy. A little pricey for a large slice of pizza, however, the taste was phenomenal. I would definitely grab the BBQ chicken pizza again and maybe try some of the other flavors.

Valentino’s was the last truck I ate at during the IE Food Truck Festival this weekend in Ontario, and so I had to think small. My eyes said«pizza,» but my stomach said«appetizer». I decided to try the prosciutto wrap. I’m not sure what the earlier reviewer was looking for in terms of flavor, but the wrap I had was delicious. Very fresh flavors. Prosciutto wrapped around mozzarella and served with chopped tomatoes and basil. Honestly, this was such a refreshing surprise that I had to go back to the truck and thank them. Next time, I will plan ahead so I can try their pizza, but in the meantime, I’ll be dreaming about this little taste of Italian heaven. Grazie!

I had the prosciutto appetizer. Wasn’t on the menu and was 3 pieces of prosciutto wrapped around mozzarella topped with chopped tomatoes and basil. It was bland. Consistency was way off. Would not try this again but would be open to trying the pizza next time.

I’ve been thinking about this pizza since the last time I had it…2 months ago. The crust was legendary and the toppings were so perfectly covered in the melted cheese. The serving size was adequate. Enough to make me too full to order the delicious sounding dessert pizza. I’ll get it someday though, and I’m absolutely positive that I’ll love it. The price was good for the portion, too.

When it comes to the topic of pizza, only religion and politics are more divisive. New York, or Chicago? Thin crust or deep dish? Round or square? And that’s not even mentioning toppings. Nations have gone to war, brother against brother, houses divided. Civilizations have crumbled. Roommates have argued. This is the first pizza truck I’ve seen, so I’m not sure where the curve lies. But you still gotta compete with traditional neighborhood places, so no getting off the hook for being on four wheels. This is pizza we’re talking about, the Food of the Gods. I dunno the logistics of cooking pizza in a truck, but I’m sure there ain’t no wood-fired ovens on board. That’s not a big deal, I can accept that and take it into consideration. It seems this pizza is baked en masse like a sheet cake, and then cut up into smaller slices, not unlike square pizza. I went for the Maple Bacon Cheeseburger pizza cuz it sounded awesome. Visions of sweet meaty cheesiness danced in my head. Unfortunately those delicious-sounding toppings all disappeared in the morass of oppressive dough, which was all too soft and not quite crispy. It reminded me more of a Stouffer’s French Bread Pizza-too much bread base, not enough of everything else. I got nothing against the big deep-dish style, where you find a thick hearty crust. But that’s balanced by equally large amounts of sauce and cheese, and that balance was lacking here. This just wasn’t what I was looking for in a pizza. Others Unilocalers have said they like the fluffy, doughy, cushiony squares, and thats fine. But if you like a good ratio of sauce, cheese, and *crispy* crust, then this will leave you wanting.

I had the pleasure trying this pizza outside of XIV on Sunset & Crescent Heights! Can I tell you it made my night! In my opinion the key to great pizza is good sauce and dough. Valentino’s had the best of both! It was amazing! I only wish that this truck was outside of every club I went to! Hahaha I definitely recommend it! If you see this truck, pick up a slice stat! You’ll love it!

I had the pleasure of trying the Valentino’s Pizza Truck at the IE Truck Festival. This pizza is a must try, it is incredible. My kids love pizza but I have never seen them devour a pizza slice so quickly. We ordered the Italian sausage pizza and then it was gone. What makes the pizza so good is how the cheese and pizza dough melt in your mouth. I can’t believe pizza can melt in your mouth like that, but this one did. The sausage had a small spice to it but not enough to stop my kids from eating it all. Great pizza and a must try if you are near this truck.

Tino’s pizza is a must to try! When I first saw the crust it did not look too appealing to me but wait… you need to bite into it and… OMG! It is sooo yummi! It has to be eaten right there and right then. The taste is very satisfying and the crust crunchy and fluffy. So delicious. I am 8.5 pregnant and my baby started kicking after I ate Tino’s pizza ;-)

If I was directly correlating this truck to the other pizza truck I have tried then this would be a 5 star truck. But since I am also comparing it to pizza in general we can stick with a very satisfying 4 stars. It’s quick serving since the pizza is ready to go when you arrive. Kim and I decided to share a slice of Hawaiian pizza. It was under $ 5 and I thought very reasonably priced for the 6 little squares of pizza you get. It’s notable that they had actual tomato slices on their pizza. I LOVE that(and it’s the only time I will eat cooked tomatoes). The pineapple was yummy, the Canadian bacon was hard to find, there just wasn’t a lot of it. But the overall taste was still great. Their bottom crust was pretty thick which means it can hold its own while you walk and eat. My hands got a little messy while I was trying to separate the slices. They hadn’t been cut all the way through so I ended up with pizza sauce hands. That’s fine with me! Though pizza isn’t one of my go to eats I would still be very happy enjoying one of Valentino’s slices any day of the week(preferably a Tuesday).

Tino’s Pizza Truck has hot, cheesy pizza on-the-go and you can follow them on Twitter @tinospizzatruck . Tino’s sells single serving pizzas not slices. Thus I was a little overindulgent when I ordered both a pepperoni pizza and a Hawaiian pizza for lunch at $ 5 each. At first I thought I was ordering expensive slices, it was only upon receiving my order that I realized Tino’s gives generous portions of individual thick crust rectangular pizzas cut into 6 more-than-bite-size squares. I spent more than 30 minutes trying to investigate Tino’s online for this review. I was confused as to whether they’re related to one of many Valentino’s bricks & mortar pizzerias which they are not. Tino’s Pizza Truck is its own deal. I spent so much time tracking them down on Google because I was baffled that they didn’t already have a review on Unilocal. If the truck drives up and you’re hungry for pizza definitely try them out. I’m a tough rater and 3-stars means that I’d go back to eat again. The pizza is good and ample for a meal.

This is a tough one to rate. Do you compare it to a high end pizza place? Do you compare it to a take out place? Do you take the logistics of making pizza on a truck into account? Valentino’s Pizza truck is not as good as a neighborhood place, but a heck of a lot better than the national chains; even the one who recognized their pizza sucked and started from scratch. It is also amazing that they carry 2 full ovens capable of 700 degree heat on the truck and turned out a decent slice in about 5 minutes. I ordered a slice of the Portobello for $ 4.75, and while there wasn’t enough cheese to suit me(there seldom is), it had a sweet tangy sauce, a perfectly done crust that didn’t have that twice baked texture so common when you buy a slice. They serve it in a rectangle which is subdivided into 6 square slices. Only 2 of the 6 slices have crust to grip onto, so eating it is a bit awkward; but it is good. The owner John, also comped me a small sample of his«Chocolate Pizza», which is his crust coated with Nutella instead of tomato sauce. I can see that becoming the signature item; especially if he works the bars at night. It was awesome. I wondered if the trick was owned by the same folks who owned Valentino’s Pizza and John told me it wasn’t. All told this is a wobbler between 3 and 4 stars; John being a nice guy and the Chocolate Pizza earned them a bump up to 4. Now I have had my issues with the idea of pizza on a truck. I mean, it just seems like it’s pretty much Vanilla. Not to mention that the whole notion of driving around with an oven sounds like it would be a nightmare. I can’t help it that I have had a very bumpy past with a certain pizza food truck in that they’ve called me out twice on their website on my poor review of their terrible pizza. Tino’s, or Valentino’s Pizza on the other hand. is a whole different beast. In fact, I think they show that you can actually do pizza from a food truck and do it with both authentically good taste as well as adding that food fusion spice that the gourmet food trucks have been doing to everything they touch. I tried a couple of their stuff. The Italian Sausage was pretty good and did hit the spot in the craving for a slice of heaven. The difference between this Pizza food truck and the previous other one I have tried in the past that… well, were pretty much no SLICE of cake is that this one takes the classic pizzas and actually makes them good, but also plays around with them as well. Take for example their Chocolate pizza. They give you a dessert pizza that comes with Nutella. The Hazelnut delicious treat known the world around. though oddly enough it seems to really be getting more attention in the states just recently. I have to admit, this sucker is good. very much good. I’m not even much of a chocolate person and this one does hit the spot. The prices on the truck are pretty much average for the mobile food industry and you really can’t go wrong with it. Let’s just say that your wallet will not hate you like it will on some other food trucks that have been making their rounds. This food truck, it hits your eye with it’s nice pizza pie. Now that’s some amore for this food truck.
