I think this is love… very calm, cozy coffee shop. I walked here with my roommate and was pleasantly surprised by how zen it was. It’s small but the interior is amazing. Coffee was delicious too and at an avg price. Loved it!

Finally a café in Thai Town. Little by little this neighborhood it’s taking off. I give this place three stars because of the food. Second time there today and they still messing up with my order. The stuff is very attentive but apparently don’t listen very well. The coffe is very good as well as the lemonade but the breakfast is so mediocre. Eather beagles or croissant are dry and not to tasty. If you are coming for just a coffe and read a book or work a little bit with your computer is a great places though. Ok, third time in this place and I still don’t understand why has so many good reviews. I gave them another chance because is the beginning of 2016 and I was wondering if they changed. NAH! Everything still the same. They change the girl attending to the public but they still messing my orders. I ordered a big breakfast to go, since it’s Saturday morning and I’m still on holidays. After waiting peaceful they run out off almost everything I ordered. WTF?! Really? Ok we can fix it I’ll just do my best to make the breakfast worth it. After getting my order they told me they didn’t have any trays for the coffees or bags for the rest… What?! Could you have told me that before I said TOGO?! I looked pretty dumb walking down the street joggling with coffees and containers full of bagels. Seriously I think this place should change. It’s a good spot and Thai Town needs a cafeteria but man it such a bummer.

I’m giving them 2 stars because once we actually receive the food, it’s pretty delicious. But today was the third and last chance we give these gals. We were so excited when we so an independent coffeehouse in the hood, but from now on well walk over to UCB or Sabor Y Cultura. They never get our orders right. Never. And they’re offering is so limited. We were kinda hoping this would be our new breakfast-brunch spot, but they don’t have anything like that or even simple things like plain croissants. I really don’t understand all the great reviews this place gets.

I just tried to order a macchiato and the cashier basically refused to take my order. she acted like it was a thing that wasn’t on their own menu, «like at Starbucks?, she asked me after I ordered. she made me get a more expensive drink that I didn’t want. Really annoying and rude.

$ 5.75 for a latte and a bagel, and service with a smile! How can you beat that! Highly recommended cute little independent coffee shop that plays awesome music.

Beautiful place, great variety of drinks and really reasonable prices. Owner Melissa is tops. Very nice and attentive. Great and hidden quiet spot amidst the chaos of Hollywood Blvd.

This coffee house is pretty cool on the inside and pretty good in my tummy! The prices are great and they have a good selection of drinks! Hot or cold. They also serve awesome breakfast egg sandwiches for $ 6! You can choose any bread– toast, bagel, croissant Then your meat Then your cheese Next your veggies(as many as u want) Finally, your sauce My fav is their chai latte with vanilla! As for the sandwich, I really dig their chive cream cheese. The get their ingredients locally too so you know it’s fresh! They have free wifi, tables in the main floor and second floor, and games to play while u are there. The place has a very cool vibe to it and it’s a nice break from Starbucks which for me is very fast paced. Come into the urban social house, sit back, and relax!!!

I’ve walked by many times, curiously peeking inside, making a note to come back and give it a try. I did. Please, do too. They have chessboard, sandwiches, and comfortable seats; coffee, tea, fat fruit pies, and sticky pecan bars. Plus, it’s absolutely charming. It is so warm and beautiful, I wish I could hide underneath that one really comfortable sofa upstairs and spend the night. No really, this teahouse is so out of place, and so out of time, it wouldn’t surprise me if one of its stocky 5 foot 2 lamps started talking.

Walking by, it is really easy to miss this place because their sign is really high up and kind of discreet. The windows itself don’t have much on them and are really dark so you pass by the place several times before realizing you are in the right place. The interior is super cute and has a vintage library type vibe. There’s 2 floors. The first floor is where most of the normal tables were, but go upstairs and the seats are old vintage couches. Overall the place is extremely dark, so if you’re wanting to go to a place that has a lot of natural lighting, don’t go here. The coffee itself was pretty good. Nothing too memorable and was standard. The pumpkin pie here was super good. My mom who normally hates pumpkin pie even thought it was super tasty and could not stop eating it!

I am just SOHAPPY this place is so close to my job and that its doing so well. Mel(the owner) is incredibly nice and her service is great. It wasn’t until recently that I started ordering food and guys, please — please, try their Tuna Salad sandwich and Chicken Pesto and fruit bowl. Obviously, their coffee is really good too. OH — and the décor! Such a great little spot that you HAVE to stop at.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the best latte I’ve had in a long time! The food is made with fresh local ingredients and they’ll cater to your diet needs. It’s a little dark inside but I guess that’s part of the atmosphere. Still a great vibe!

Was out running some errands this morning in little Armenia, decided to give this place a try, so glad I did! Reasonably priced food and café items. I got the ham Swiss and egg breakfast sandwich and added tomato and onion on a croissant. Accompanied with an iced chai. The food was so bomb! You can taste the freshness of what they serve which is rare in most places in this neighborhood. The chai was pretty fantastic too! Service was amazing and came with some super kind and friendly faces! Keep it up, I’ll be back!

I live around the corner and at first didn’t realize this was a café or coffee house. I am happy it is there, and hopefully it will get better. The café has free wifi, and is dark, making it a nice place to work on your computer. I have had the iced coffee, which I liked. Although the price on the board was $ 2.50 and I was charged $ 3.00. When I asked why, they said the prices on the board were not up to date. Huh? No biggie, but from a business perceptive seems pretty lame and possible illegal. I think by law you have to sell items for the price listed. The food from what I have seen and ordered is disgusting. I actually threw it away and it was not cheap. The weird part was they actually believe their food is really good. I wish now I had taken a photo of the disgusting microwaved chicken pesto sandwich. Although the package brownies were pretty delicious. This neighborhood really needs better local spots and I just wish Urban Social House was one of them.

A fine establishment for wifi, coffee, and a snack. It is quite dark in there when the sun goes down and the table height compared to seating height is a little off, but maybe they were going for eclectic and mismatchy?!? The tuna sandwich I snacked on while working away on their free wifi was generic, but for $ 6ish, no complaints from me. I was even offered a croissant instead of a roll, so that might have given it a bit more flare, if I was feeling the flaky option, that is. The ladies working were kind and welcoming.

THELADYBEHINDTHECOFFEEBARISANANGELANDFIVESTARSTOHER. (I left my purse there like a complete moron and she quickly took it and guarded it behind the counter — I owe her my life). I support local businesses that aren’t charging me a million dollars for an artsy scone and doesn’t relish in correcting you on the difference between cold brew and iced coffee. While the wanna be hipster punk in me doesn’t want to admit it, sometimes you just want to walk into a shop and have easy good service. It’s dark inside(which I love), chess set was out on the table set up, old books out for the reading — big open space. I used to live down the street — the area deserves a business that is honest and promotes walking around.

This coffee shop has been a blessing to the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and their breakfast croissant is sooo tasty! Their coffee is strong and freshly brewed. This is definitely my new favorite spot.

The cons: the lighting is very low, the bench seats are high and narrow, and the décor looks like it came from a movie set about medieval vampires. In short, this is not a place to do work or sit for long periods. The pros: the service is friendly and the lattes are strong and reasonably priced. I recommend this place for a quick visit to grab some espresso.

I hate to say it, because I’ve wanted good coffee(hell, even mildly-decent coffee) in these blocks for years — but this place is awful. The actual coffee is so bad(the iced coffee is an extra step down to full on un-drinkable), it’s got that ashtray & insomnia flavor that truck stops nail so well, without even the high-octane jet-fuel kick that kind of bad coffee usually offers as a consolation prize. I’ve tried four times out of giddiness at walkable coffee, but it’s just… Awful. Threw in one more star because the people are lovely. But damn. Fix your drinks!

Urban Social House is surprisingly nice and the only independent coffee shop in a mile vicinity of this area. I reluctantly came in last night when I was too tired to bike over to H Café and I was pleasantly surprised. I guess I had low expectations coming in but the spacious and quiet atmosphere along with the nice barista won me over. I’ve seen the opening of this place from the outside for the past month and somehow it not being located on the corner of the building like every other indie coffee shop turned me off a little. Weird thing to set me off huh? I mean, why o why does the corner of this building have a wheelchair and walker store allocated to it when everything else in the damn neighborhood is being removed? I get that this is an old persons’ building, but yeah — I actually was really impressed going inside of this place after seeing the front of it closed down for quite a handful of years. Was this the place that was supposed to turn into a Hookah Joint? Hmm. The vibe perhaps most closely resembles a combination of the sumptuous dark looks of Bourgeois Pig and the neighborhood crowd of Sabor y Cultura. It has the looks to attract a more hipster crowd, but the people of Harvard & Stone have yet to cross the street. The iced coffee is only $ 2 and is as good as iced coffee gets. The atmosphere is dark, kind of sexy and is incredibly bigger than it looks from the outside. The only issue I have had with it is that it is incredibly warm inside at 10pm. I am not one to complain about warm weather but even I had to take off my sweater and sat near the door to feel the ventilation of the air.
