I found this place by accident, & am so glad I did. My friend & I needed a quick stop for breakfast, a snack & coffee. This place had it all! The staff is sweet, attentive & helpful. The shop is cute & smells delicious! The coffee bar has all the classics & some amazing concoctions I hadn’t heard of(purple rain-lavender & vanilla bean latte) um yes please! I am already planning on what I’ll order next time I’m there. I ordered a filthy chai with almond milk(they have milk alternatives for you vegans) & a delicious bagel, my friend the breakfast burrito & an iced coffee. They were absolutely perfect! I cannot wait to come back & try something else on their menu! See you soon Undergrind

Yay! Finally a coffee house with real food in the neighborhood! I drove past this place a few times before I got to try it. Super cute place with well made espresso drinks and seriously good food. I got an Americano and my friend got a latte and ham and cheese croissant the first time. Usually I have to add milk to Americanos because of the bitterness, but I didn’t have to at all to this one. Awesome! My friend loved her goodies too. The next time I came, I tried their breakfast burrito. Holy moly! Probably the best one I’ve had in a very long time. It was the perfect portion size and there was the right amount of eggs, sausages, and veggies. The owner came up with all of the menu items and they all sound delicious. My friend and I were standing there for a good 10 minutes because it was so hard to decide. Btw, for milk options, they have: dairy milk, coconut, almond, and soy. I’m hoping hemp/flaxseed milk will come into the mix soon.(If anyone else reading this would like it too, please mention it to them.) A must try now.

Coffee and Espresso is excellent and the food is even better. I had the all American breakfast burrito and my fiancé had the shrimp and grits. We split both and couldn’t decide which was better. The burrito was filling, fresh and just damn good. The shrimp and grits were kind of a surprise considering it’s a bit more complex but was excellent too. Add veggies to the shrimp and grits and it’s a somewhat healthy and complete meal. If you are not a hang out and ponder over a newspaper type, order to go by calling ahead of time. The food and espresso is super fresh so it takes some time.

The only reason I wanted to take one star off but I didn’t was because their sandwiches are sooooo good!!! I almost put 4 stars for their drink order system. When it’s on weekday or not that busy time of weekend, you don’t have to wait too long for your drink. However when I came on Sunday rush hours for lunch time, it was a bit of mess. They put your name on your food orders so they know who ordered what, but for drinks, they don’t put your name… So if there are multiple people ordering the same drinks around the same time, you can see it can be a bit of mess. Other than that there is nothing to complain about this place. Awesome food, drinks, atmosphere and people working there. My go to place for breakfast/quick bite or drinks :)

As far as I know this café’s the first of its kind on the stretch of Robertson north of the 10 and south of Cadillac(with Beverlywood to the west and Rainier Village to the east). Rumor has it they may be expanding this year to one or more locations in the same area. It’s not an in-house bakery like Dolce Isola or the Bagel Factory, which both serve coffee and breakfast goods nearby on Robertson, but overall it’s a better deal. They always have decent croissants(not as good as the ones at New School of Cooking over on Washington, but few are), the sandwiches are reasonable while covering a lot of ground, and the salads are substantial and fresh(the beet salad’s a meal of its own, with crunchy roasted beets… usually not done that way but I like them). Specializing in blended drinks, the folks at Undergrind aren’t coffee nazis, and don’t pretend to be, so theres on ‘nitro’ option. But they do use Stumptown beans, and provide a nice cold brew alongside the dessert-like latte and frappé drinks. And the loose leaf teas they make are nice. For blended options I like the salted carmel frappé, and I have an ongoing love affair with Purple Rain, a lavender tea-vanilla powder ice drink with milk. That one is killer. Other pluses: The people are friendly, there’s good, free wi-fi, the espresso’s not half bad. The shrimp and grits can be really really on point; I was eating them a lot a few months ago. Downsides: not a ton of seating, and no seats outside(and no awning for cover). Interested to see what else they do this year.

Undergrind Café is a pretty good spot. The atmosphere is chill and I’d go back. The décor of the café has a nice bright feel and not many cafes have that bright vibe. The staff there is very friendly and can see that they enjoy their costumers. I ordered a breakfast bite and peanut butter cup blend and I must say it was reasonably priced and tasted fantastic. This place is a must try :)

Undergrind Café is my new favorite! Only a mile from my house, I expect to be a frequent customer. I ordered the purple rain tea latte iced, which is a combination of lavender and vanilla. I’m a HUGE fan of lavender drinks, and this one was absolutely delicious. Sweet with the perfect amount of lavender! My friend ordered the salted caramel, and while I just got a sip, it was awesome! Sweet and yummy! The owner is very friendly and seemed to have known her customers. The décor is very cute! Love the little decorations and plants… Only issue might be the parking, but what’s new in LA? Definitely try this place out!

This place was decent. I liked how quiet everyone was and the service was friendly enough. I ordered a lox bagel but didn’t eat it cause it was fishy and the bagel was burnt and cut up my mouth. I stayed hungry but enjoyed the venue enough to try again in the future. I’ll just avoid the fish.

Hidden gem in the Pick-Robertson neighborhood! Very reasonably-priced, as most menu items are under $ 10. Their breakfast sandwiches are really good, especially the Breakfast Bite Supreme($ 7.00), which has eggs, thick cut maple bacon, baked sharp cheddar cheese crisp, arugula, tomato, avocado and black pepper spread on croissant. The flavor combination is outstanding. Each bite melts in your mouth. There are so many yummy textures. The bacon is cooked to a perfect level of crispiness, and so is the cheese crisp. The black pepper spread adds a lot to the sandwich. I didn’t care for my chocolate muffin, as it was pretty dry and not very fluffy at all. I could tell whether it was stale or just a bad flourless version. As for lunch, they have different specials on a chalkboard(it’s gumbo now), and they have many different sandwiches. The Cali sandwich($ 8.00) is fresh and tasty! Try it. Parking can be a challenge. If you can’t find a metered spot in front, there is free neighborhood parking. It’s pretty informal, so you order and pay at the counter, and then you pick up your food there as well. There isn’t a table service option, but the staff does check on you. The coffee is great, too, and they have a little fix-it-yourself station where you can make your coffee and take any condiments or utensils you need. Overall, this is a pretty solid place! If you can’t find it, it’s right next to an art gallery with a funky mural on the wall.

Le sigh… Part of my life’s philosophy is that the only acceptable thing to eat after a night of drinking is a breakfast burrito. Sadly, the break of day burrito here doesn’t count. It was more like scrambled eggs wrapped in a tortilla. Even worse is that the«hashbrowns» we’re practically raw. If you see my photo you’ll notice it’s just a very monotone color of yellow. Barely any bacon or avocado and those weak potatoes. Womp. Now on to the positives… Their marshmallow latte was delicious. And my sister enjoyed the croissant breakfast sandwich. I’ll definitely come back and try other food and drinks because the atmosphere is really pleasant and adorable. Think family run and local art on the walls.

Coziest coffee shop decorated so nicely! place was impeccable, the food was amazing, and the service was great I have absolutely no complaints. Visited this place with a few people so I got to try their food too, and out of the 4 different things I tried, everything was finger licking good. *Rich girl sandwich, *Bollywood burrito, and *breakfast bite croissant sandwich were made to perfection. I’m a fan for *Mac n cheese and that didn’t disappoint me either! now about their coffee .: the Dutch I can drink all day… everyday! :) make sure you visit this place with a few people so you can get to try not just one thing … all worth it. every penny worth it!!!

The staff, the food and the overall vibe makes this my go-to coffee shop and I’m so glad to find you close to by neighborhood. I wish they had more room because there’s always people coming in. Other then that small negative the Undergrind Café is amazing in it’s details. Details like the amazing staff who always seem to be pleasant even when they are busy, decorations on the walls, the funk music that comes on once in a while, the flavors specially put together in every dish. These details equate to things that all add up to a business I want to come back to and support. As far as their coffee, the Dirty Chai has been the only thing I can order(they have other things) but when I find something this good it takes a while to try something else. The food; me and mrs have tried several items and all of them were amazing. Who knew I liked grits? I now LOVE grits. The breakfast burrito is a meal for two or the only one you need for the day. The maple bite left me speechless. Got to go back this weekend, just thinking about it.
