Uncle Berch’s Foods

Russ, I believe, is the name of the proprietor at Uncle Berch’s. He used to partner with Uncle Berch in Northern-​Central California and now distributes his fine oils here in Southern California. He’s straight-​forward, knowledgeable and passionate about his oils, which range from jalapeño– to garlic-​infused, with some habanero here and there.
The real treat, however, are the pure olive oils — from the smooth Ascolano to the complex Mission. He has unlimited bread (on toothpicks) for you to taste-​test your way to happiness, eventually culminating in the purchase of one of his small/​medium/​large sized bottles. Warning: this olive oil is VERY good, probably the best I’ve been able to have in California, likely because it was pressed in recent months (the degradation on OO is extremely fast).
