*** this review is for the Southwest Breakfast Burrito from one of the breakfast stand****** Burrito was not even warm(did they defrost and forgot to cook the burrito?) the cheese weren’t even melted, the turkey sausage inside tasted like cardboard and plastic mixed together, and finally one of the most important complement to a breakfast burrito is the salsa, which is not even offered. If you want a good breakfast burrito, go to North campus, heck, even CHS has a burrito that tasted better with less ingredients.

***This review is for the Fusion restaurant at LuValle Maybe it’s because I ate a late lunch around 2:30pm, but when I got my à la carte sides of the Indian Roasted Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, they were served room temperature and definitely not fresh. My standard of food goes way down when I’m super hungry, but at least try to keep the food warm! Anther tip: the Indian roasted cauliflower did not have the Indian spice kick that the ones at the Fusion at bombshelter have. Definitely try the ones at the bombshelter!

Love this place! Not a better coffee shop on campus, always so quiet and a great place to study too! The staff are friendly and accomadating

*This is for the store underground only* They have your general snacks of Swedish fish, sour patch kids, and all them Haribo goodies!(: A wide range of soda variety and also chips. They even have my favorite spicy Cheetos fries! The cashiers and the textbook department are sweet people and helpful especially the managers. There was one time I witnessed a girl that couldn’t afford a blue book for her final and she was late and stressing like crazy, and the cashier paid for her.

This is the closest«cafeteria» near the Public Affairs building. The food is okay, and a little pricy, but it is cheaper than the restaurants like Sbarro in Ackerman. There are cheaper meal options if you read the menu closely. The coffee is cheap and good. The eating area is a patio surrounding the building. You can easily connect to UCLA wifi, so it’s a great place to be when waiting for your next class. One huge issue I have with this place is that I believe I got FOODPOISONING from the pastrami sandwich they sell. It was the only thing I’ve eaten, and I was bed-ridden for two days. Went to the doctor and said it was most likely from my lunch. Could it have been tainted vegetables? Tainted meat? My friend ate out of my sandwich, and got sick as well, but not as bad as me. Ever since then, I can’t trust to eat at this place again after that incident. Be careful with what you order. Try to get something that is completely cooked. For me, I will be sticking with Northern Lights from now on.

Actually, as far as campus eateries go Lu Valle ain’t that bad. Sure, its just burgers, subs, salads and stir-fry, but they’re all reasonably well priced and filling. Personally I go for either the chicken teriyaki and rice or crispy chicken burger with fries. Surprisingly good, consistently. One thing I will ding them for is drinks; even a bottle of water was ~$ 2.50. Solid choice if you’re on campus and don’t want to walk all the way to Westwood.

This place is basically my main spot on campus to grab something quick to eat, replenish on caffeine, or just a nice place to study/relax in between classes. Although there isn’t anything eye-grabbing or noteworthy about this place, I have a fondness for it and will be sure to miss it when I graduate): It’s located near the sculpture garden and obviously I’m biased, but north campus is beautiful and this place is no exception! It’s always nice to sit under the trees or just simply people watch. This place has an underground(or basement level) small student store where they sell all the basics like scantrons, bluebooks, an array of school supplies and apparel, as well as snacks! I come here sometimes to grab a quick snack and it’s like being in a customized UCLA7 – 11! On to the food choices, there’s a chicken teriyaki stand where you can get an Asian style lunch(rice, noodles, tofu, teriyaki chicken, steamed veggies etc.) a sandwich stand(nothing special in my opinion), pizza and salad where they change the options throughout the week(personal favorite is the bbq pasta salad) and a hamburger stand that offers pretty good breakfast deals in the morning. Prices are obviously on the more expensive side, but what can I expect from UCLA): Always trying to take my money even though I pay tuition): My favorite place is definitely the coffee shop because although the coffee is mediocre at best, it really does give off a college vibe with students buzzing about catching up, laughing, studying or grabbing a quick bite. Luvalle, you are the ackerman for north campus students.

It’s the most convenient food and school supply store. Law students don’t really have any other choice. Whoever running the store is being either wantonly indifferent or does not care about the customer service or the food quality for the students. Food: In a quality-price comparison, the price is average and the food is below average. The only food I enjoy is breakfast, the lunch menu isn’t a bit nasty. The only reason I eat lunch there is because I’m hungry. Bookstore: School supplies are overprice. Bookstore return policy is strict and does not even make one time exception.

Nothing special, just proximally located to the law school and offers students the necessary caffeine fix.

The store is great for all the essentials, but the cafeteria part upstairs is sickening now. The food never changes, so after a full year of the same crap it gets overbearing. One time Jimmy’s brought chicken marsala and it was wonderful, but I never saw it again :(I would recommend going to Il Tramezzino once in a while to get some real food(within 5 minute walking distance)

Reviewing the store only. It’s way smaller than the main store which I like so much better. But, if you’re looking for specific school items(Anderson mgt, public health, law) then you’ll find those specific t shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, glasses, stuffed animals, etc, here. Still, the quantity of items is limited. It’s located downstairs like an underground area below the commons.

I usually only get the English muffin with no ham in the mornings. It’s 2 bucks and its good. But honestly, I can make this at home. I guess I really like the convenience As for lunch, the only thing I get are the pasta salads. The spinach and BBQ chicken one have been of no disappointment at all. I recommend getting a half rather than a full because they really fill it all the way to the top. Don’t come here during lunch hours 12 – 1 you will be standing in a long line while your appetite suppresses.

Having eaten at this commons for 4 years, I am not very pleased. It’s just always too crowded, and the food is not very good. With the law school right next to this eatery the school would really do a service to all it’s students to update this offering.

Just a smaller version of the store at Ackerman. I just come here in between classes to grab chips or a small snack to munch on. Although I’m a north campus major, I haven’t really been here often until this year, but I do remember it being on my list of things to find during Carpe Noctem. As for the eatery, I’ve only tried the burger place and the chinese food. Both are pretty mediocre. For the price you pay, I’d suggest going to North Lights instead. They have better food over there.

Why isn’t there a separate page for the eatery upstairs? I’ve never been to the store below, so this review is specifically for Jimmy’s & the eatery. Jimmy’s is pretty much the same as the other coffee places on campus offering donuts, other pastries, coffee, tea, & various drinks. Every time I’ve ordered something from Jimmy’s, the temperature of my beverage is just right(Goldilocks over here). It’s nice to be able to instantly enjoy your beverage the moment you get it instead of waiting for it to cool down. Service is also always friendly. The other day, a TROLLjan decided to sport his USC sweater, walked nonchalantly into Jimmy’s to order a drink & was treated with the same respect as any other UCLA student/staff/visitor. No 8 clap was performed, my guess is that it was way too early for trolling the TROLLjan. The eatery inside for breakfast is probably the best on campus that’s not in the dining halls. Eggs are made fresh to serve & egg white omelets are available upon request. Ingredients include cheese(two types), spinach, mushrooms, ham, onions, olives, & jalapeños to name a few. Eggs can be made anyway you’d like from scrambled to sunny side up. I absolutely love their tater tots, you really can’t go wrong with them, but the home fries are just as good. Salsa is available to top off your eggs & potatoes, for free! Prices are affordable & their bagel basket is also pretty good too. I’ve yet to come here for lunch, but I definitely look forward to coming over to Lu Valle after my 8AM classes. Service is always friendly! Lu Valle also has way better salsa than North Campus Student Center(Northern Lights & the eatery inside that area).

Is this for the store? The eatery up top? Might as well review both. The store has standardized ASUCLA prices, meaning it’s the same as Ackerman and North Campus. However, the grocery selection here is limited, as it’s a much smaller store. It has to reserve some space to cram in art stuff, since it is close to north campus. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff you get from here can be gotten cheaper elsewhere, nearby. For example, 9.5oz Frappucinos are 2.29 here, but 2.00 in a vending machine. The eatery itself is decent. The food tends to be mostly on the lower quality side. Salads are full of iceberg lettuce, as are their sandwiches. I do like the new bowl place they implemented recently. It’s probably the best deal, as you can get half a container of salad, half a container of noodles/rice, and a decent amount of meat for just over 5.10. Also, even when I’m 40, I’m still going to be a student for Lu Valle ;)

Dude, 4 stars just for being open during my evening 6:30 — 9:30pm class at nearby Dodd Hall. After working all day, by the time half the class has passed, I’m in need of ANYTHING to stay awake. So on my class break, I go to Jimmy’s for my jolt of java. I liked the white chocolate mocha and they still carry holiday flavors like pumpkin spice and eggnog. Just enough stimulant to carry me through the rest of class. And service has been friendly every time I’ve been there. They also have fair trade drink options for just a little more. Only downside is the bookstore is closed 5pm during summer. Very inconvenient for extension students who work during the day.

«Why are there so many haters up in here?» I like this place for two reasons. First, their omelet breakfast plates are custom made on the spot and they are delicious and cheap. You can easily get a complete set of omelet with bells and whistles with a delicious side of golden brown tater tots for less than $ 5. They also have egg whites and a good variety of cheese and vegi options to choose from. How can you beat that? Second, I like their pizza station where you can choose from a range of pizzas to go with a half order of pasta salad. Their pizza is okay but chicken pesto pasta salad is major bomb. I thought their Chinese food station is mediocre and the sandwiches are huge and decent. So here’s my point breakdown: 1 pt for major convenience and student wifi 1 pt for very good breakfast on the cheap 1 pt for pizza and pasta 1 pt for sandwiches for monster eaters For a place designed for students on the go, I’d say this is pretty awesome. Furthermore, the sunny patio makes this a perfect place for people watching… uh no, for getting a lot of work done. Credit cards accepted.

I’m around dodd and bunche and public affairs all the time so i end up eating here alot and what you have to do is get the half salad half pizza thing. everyday there’s three different salads and three different pizzas so between the two you can make some sort of combination work. Usually the pasta salads are really good. the pizza’s could be better but with the portions/cost ratio in mind i’m satisfied yea it’s really just mediocre but i like the options and it changes day to day which is nice also. dont’ get the rice bowls they’re crap the burgers are ok but they take forever the sandwiches are decidedly average
