Am I a fan of living here? Yes, I am. Is it the coolest place to live? No, it is not. First of all, it looks a bit like either a hotel or a slightly fancy dorm. I mean, it’s university housing, so one shouldn’t expect much, but it is a bit weird to come home and have to put your CARDKEY into the slot to open the door. Pluses: — parking garage — free university shuttle to campus that runs every hour — cheap rent!(if you live with a roommate) — pretty good location in culver city(walking distance to tons of restaurants and a few stores like Best Buy and Ralph’s) — all utilities except gas/electric included! Could go either way: — safe(there have been some robberies, but generally it’s very safe, and i’ve never felt unsafe(knock on wood)) — size/feel/windows in the apartment(some apartments don’t have windows that face outside(i.e. you just get the view of the hallway outside your front door), but my corner apartment is a good size and has lots of windows) — location in terms of UCLA(it’s 30 – 40 minutes no matter what way you go: bus, bike, shuttle, car, hot air balloon) Cons: — you feel like you live in a dorm. you can decorate. but those walls are still scary white — card keys — getting packages delivered can be annoying because there’s no buzzer system — no buzzer system — nobody talks to anybody else! Overall…I’ll stay here because it’s cheap and easy and pretty okay!
