I wish I didn’t have to write an updated review, because Ubatuba used to be my go-to spot for acai bowls. I was back in the area after living abroad for several months, and I was so excited to get my fill of acai, but instead of the yummy, creamy bowls I was used to, I got something that tastes like a finely crushed up popsicle. The consistency was super icy, almost like I was eating an acai flavored snow cone. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed during this particular visit, but I’m gonna give these guys the benefit of the doubt and say that it was maybe a one-time mishap because I refuse to believe that the delicious acai bowls they used to serve is now gone. Hope to see the quality go back to what it was!

This place is delicious and refreshing. The açai base is fresh and sweet, they also carry to-go packages of it which I like to pick up to make fresh juices at home. They have a large variety of toppings which makes it difficult to chose bcos everything is so good. The staff are all very friendly and everything is always clean. It’s a relaxing environment if your eating there and quick service when ordering to go. I don’t understand how this place has the few negative reviews on here that I see, I assume just the typical Unilocal snobs who are hard to please.

Super yummy! The Acai blend was a bit slushy but it tasted really good. The fruit was fresh and yummy too. They even have Acai in cones, which are gluten free! Definitely will go back :)

Ok, what happened to this place? I used to be in LOVE with their acai bowls, so when I had the chance to get a bowl to-go. I was super excited! I got a small #4, replacing the almonds with bee pollen. It was ready within a minute, I said thank you, and I left with my bowl. After my first bite, I was shocked! The acai wasn’t creamy, nor sweet. It was bitter and had the consistency of coffee grinds! The mangoes on the acai were mushy and they even changed their cocoa nibs to be just large, semi-sweet/dark chocolate baking morsels! I really dislike bananas, but(no joke), the bananas were the best tasting thing in the acai bowl! After a couple of more bites, I just couldn’t stomach it and so I tossed the entire thing! I’m super disappointed!

After having acai in brazil, I was not able to get into this huge bowl of acai/kale acai/etc situation going on in cali. It took me a while to open up to it as they are all good, but it’s just too big and i dont want to eat just that for a meal. Anyway, the people here are from Brazil. It’s so legit. My Brazilian friends came over and we came here and they were speaking Portuguese together, and my friends accepted this place. I’m a big fan of thier small cup size. It’s perfect and the consistency is icy and creamy just like the ones I like in Sao Paulo. If you’re about the big bowl, they have that too. :) They are open until late and are at a great spot to stop by after eating some kbbq down 6th haha

I love going here after my workout or sometimes in the morning. Acai is probably one of the best post workout meal ever. It had the right nutrients needed for your body. However this one is just so convenient for me because it’s down the street from the gym and my house. The restaurant is a clean and neat with a few tables and sometimes I see people bring their laptops here just to do some work. If you love some acai, definitely a place to go because they have different toppings you can add to your bowl or you can even create your own. I prefer the original uba with honey and bananas and some strawberries. I like to keep it simple cause it tastes good just the way it is. Another thing that this place sells is empanadas. They have different kinds, from sweets to veggies to meats. I haven’t really tried any of it because I get full after eating an acai bowl. But hopefully I’ll try it soon(:

I ordered the Açai juice with pineapple juice and an Açai smoothie with Apple here. Both were great! Freshly made with an unusually smooth taste. Not too thick, not too creamy, and not too watery, just how daddy likes it! Didn’t try their empanadas, but they looked delicious, will be returning. Place is also very clean!

Came in a few days ago to grab an acai bowl. A little hidden gem amongst the Korean bbq joints and coffee houses of ktown. Had the almada bowl, which is the acai bowl topped with fresh bananas, strawberries, blueberries, granola and honey. Also had a beef empanada. Both were delicious, so much so, that I came back a couple of days later and had the exact same thing. A definite go to lunch spot in ktown.

so very disappointed. i never did my research before going to this place, which i regret. my friend was picking it up for someone else, but i was in the mood for some acai, so why not? well here’s why not: they only have one base acai. no different mix ins or anything. they do have a wide range of toppings, which they most definitely do not skimp on(hence the 2 stars rather than 1) the acai texture was terrible. never in my life have i had such solidified acai. if i wanted acai sorbet, i would have asked. it was so hard and icy! it lacked so much flavor. i think it all melted to the bottom and they gave me the watered down freezer burn acai or something! i dont know what i ate honestly. also, the service was terrible. the lady working, not sure what her name was but boy let me tell you, if she disagreed with anything you wanted, she sure will give you the hardest time. what happened to the customer always being right? doesn’t work here! also, parking is terrible. i’m happy never returning this place. i’m not really sure how on earth they have almost 5 stars. and i also don’t understand the empanadas. i just see no relevance. this place is all mumbo jumbo!

Definitely a hidden gem in KTown. I had the Puruba bowl and a chicken empanada. The bowl’s ingredients were all fresh and the texture of the acai was perfect. The empanada took 10 minutes to make but it was definitely worth the wait. This place was so good that I actually came back the next night and got the same exact thing again. Definitely my go to spot when craving acai and/or empanadas.

Acai bowls are always great and this place is pretty good. Too bad the parking lot is tiny and hard to find parking.

I love this place. I’ve been coming here for months and I must say Ubatuba Acai is very consistent! I love their acai bowls because their acai base is very delicious and not heavily blended. I also like how fresh all the ingredients are and just overall flavor is excellent! They also have three different sizes you can choose from depending on your appetite. I also enjoyed their empanadas and the reason being is that they get the empanadas from Nonna’s Empanadas! I like the varieties they offer and all the empanadas I tried were delicious! Ubatuba also offers mini cheese puffs which are not my favorite gougeres but still yummy. To top it off, the place is always clean and everyone is always very friendly! I love stopping by here for a healthy snack or healthy brunch whenever I am in the mood for acai bowls!

This place used to be my favorite spot in LA. Past tense. Nowadays it’s a hit or miss, and mostly miss. The last few visits, the acai has been chunky and still frozen. You can hear your spoon breaking apart frozen bits. The acai itself is a thin layer at the bottom, you can stick your spoon straight in and find that it doesn’t even go to half the spoon. They’ve gotten so stingy on the acai and fruit that it’s not even worth the $ 6.50 anymore. I’ve learnt to pull into the parking lot, peep at who is working and just leave if I know it’s going to be «miss» day. Not worth the trip.

Features: –We had the #1 which was the Almada Acai with banana, strawberries, blueberries and granola and the #3 Felix Acai with banana, bee pollen, cacao nibs and granola. This was my first time trying Acai. So, in my honest opinion, it was definitely healthy for the most part. The acai berry was really tasty and after a week long of eating unhealthy food, this was a good start to my new week’s diet. The fruits were fresh for the most part and the cacao nibs chocolate bits were super scrumptious! –I tried the chicken empanada as well and the flavor was okay. It had a tad of spicyness and kick to it. Improvement: –I think a bigger variety of fruits would draw more customers in. Tips: –Parking in front. –Try the cacao nibs!

This place is my JAM, well, Acai… The service is so sweet. Very nice Asian girl greeted us and took our order. LOVE– the Felix Bowl with additional strawberries and blueberries. I actually like a sh*t ton of bananas in my acai bowl, so many more of that next time too. Empanada ranking 1. Chicken 2. Samosa 3. Veggie *But note, I haven’t tried the others There is a parking lot, but park at your own risk. Spaces are sized for clown cars! 00 Good pricing, nice size, I’ll be back.

I don’t understand the concept of empanadas and acai bowls? Am i missing something? Id much rather have them serving some light salad with berries den dough wrapped items. Ive been driving by Abatuba for a while now and finally decided to go in and give them a try. Let me warn you the parking is a disaster in this small plaza. They have a security that runs the place and directs the flow of cars but thats still doesn’t help. I just end up parking on the street with a meter. Order/pickup is quick Service is great! They have indoor seats and 1 outdoor table. I always get the felix bowl because it doesn’t come with strawberries(i don’t like strawberries) yikes i kno lol Frozen nice cream goodness to beat the summer days… Go in and try this gem.

I felt that it is definitely give you your money’s worth. I rolled with the #2 because pineapple, strawberries AND passion fruit in my acai? HELLYES. crunchy granola. beautifully sliced strawberries. just a loving bowl of tropical sunshine and happiness to get my day going. parking sucks in this tiny plaza. aZns who cannot drive for SHIT! but it’s still worth it.
