RTH café is convenient for engineers and students who are stuck on the southeast side of USC’s campus. Their food seems to cater to the international students with a variety of Asian noodle bowls, Indian food, and Banh mi sandwiches. Personally, I like their lemongrass chicken Banh mi sandwich. It seems like one of the more affordable lunch options on campus, and tastes even better with added Sambal chili sauce. Drink-wise, I like their matcha lattes. The a Earl gray latte was too sweet for me, and there are definitely better places to get iced coffee on campus(new Annenberg and Coffee Bean). If you’re going to pay for overpriced coffee, I’d recommend those places first. Studying in this café is nice if you’re there for a quick sandwich between classes, but don’t expect to be there for too long. Considering that this is an engineering café, there is an absurdly low number of electrical outlets. If you don’t snag one of the two tables with outlets, you(and your group) will have to find elsewhere to settle down if working on a long assignment or study session.

Not bad if you’re looking for a place to grab lunch if you’re around Viterbi! I came here for the first time and had around half an hour to kill so I got their lasagna which comes with a salad w/dressing of your choice. Not too many people around 3:30 so I was able to grab a seat as well. Lasagna was actually better than I expected! They give you a pretty big slice and its a good balance between meat sauce and pasta. I usually find that eating lasagna gets really messy and I hate it when they’re too salty :(But THC’s lasagna is actually pretty good so there’s that option to try if you’re ever in the area. I also had an iced latte that was good. Nothing special but I didn’t have a bad first time experience :) The only reason why I probably won’t be back is because of the location. It’s located a bit far from where I usually am but it’s a good change-up from the usual Campus Canter food.

Two stars because the food is not bad. Tutor hall is substantially overpriced compared to other local offerings, but the real gripe here is that despite asking several times for«less ice,» my iced coffee is consistently at least 80% ice. I have this problem with the coffee bean on campus as well. The coffee bean off campus and starbucks off campus are both okay: it’s just the convenient ones that insist on gouging me $ 2.35 for a cup of ice and weak coffee.

I had the worst coffee of my entire life here recently and felt sick for hours later… It was supposed to be a frap, but the lady instead blended whole cookies, ice, and a shot of espresso. So, the whole thing was like sucking on watery cookies. Gross. Never again.

I come here often between classes, when I have an hour or two of downtime. There are only a few things from here that are worth getting. Chicken Tikka Masala = It’s not the best, but it makes a decent lunch. I actually like the sauce. Overpriced, though, at nearly $ 8. Samosas = Nothing amazing. It’s one of those foods where you take a bite, and you’re like, «Darn it, now I have to finish all of this so I won’t waste money.» Edible, but not enjoyable. Thai Chicken Sandwich = The most important part to this sandwich is the bread. If they don’t heat it long enough, you’ll feel like you’re chewing on a brick. Ask them to heat up the bread a little longer. Other than that, it’s not a bad lunch item. Green Tea = Love it! They use one of my favorite loose leaf tea bag brands. Highly recommend. Seating is limited inside, but there are plenty outside. The line is usually short, so there’s little wait time. Definitely better than the campus centers’ lunch lines.

Perfect spot to grab a snack or lunch between classes. Service is always fast and the food is good. I love getting food and then sitting in the sun out on the patio to eat and do some work. It’s also very convenient for people like me who have a ton of classes nearby.

I had eaten at this café a couple of times my first two years at USC, and I heard they changed it up a little bit this year. So, I decided to check it out. In addition to the sandwich bar and pre-made sushi they have always had, they now offer four different varieties of ramen and catered Indian food from a restaurant downtown called No Tomatoes. The sandwiches have always been good, my personal favorite being the Caprese. I have sampled the vegetarian miso ramen and it was very good! I would definitely come back to have this again. My favorite part: The indian food. The last time I went I had the daily special which was a vegetarian curry dish served with a generous portion of basmati rice. It was DELISH. lots of flavor, and very filling. I cannot wait to go back to try another entrée! Tutor Hall Café is a great option on USC’s campus away from all the commotion at Campus Center and they may even have a bit better food…

This is one of the better cafes on the USC campus! Located in the engineering hall it can be kind of hidden if you don’t know where you are going. The have a bunch of premade stuff but dont’ go for any of that because it’s not very good. Instead try one of their sandwiches/paninis or have them make a fresh salad for you! They also have hot items occasionally and every day there is a new special which is great if you are bored of the food from the campus center lol. They have some amazing cupcakes as well but they are too big for one person to eat, get one to share! The seating can fill up quickly but since it’s SoCal and always sunny just sit outside!

I have couple of classes at Viterbi this semester, so I’ve recently been grabbing lunch at Tutor Hall Café. Definitely overpriced for what you get, although the salads that they make for you are a good size and cost about $ 7 – 8. Also, the cheesy breadstick that comes with the salads is a thoughtful gesture, but isn’t very appetizing… it tastes kind of stale, actually. Boo. The selection isn’t much, but they have daily specials. I had the basil lemon chicken salad(something like that), and it was basically a box of lettuce drenched in dressing and a big scoop of some kind of chicken-mayo salad. Didn’t taste anything like basil or lemon. Another boo. I do recommend the spinach salad though! I don’t recall the exact name, but it comes with feta cheese, hard-boiled egg, and red bell pepper. I get it with chicken for more protein. It’s usually pretty busy, so it can be hard finding a table inside. But if the weather isn’t too bad, you can enjoy your food outdoors as well!

Overpriced. Worst fountain drink I have ever got. Sprite was basically Soda and nothing else tasted right either…

Tutor Hall Café is a great place to grab food on the go. Being an engineer, a lot of my classes are in that general area, so when I don’t have a chance to go home and eat lunch, it’s convenient to go there and grab a quick bite. They have multiple sandwiches you can get and they have chips, crackers, and a large variety of drinks. My go-to lunch there is the chicken caesar salad wrap(SOOOOGOOD!) and a vitamin water. Also, if you are in a rush in the morning, they have a great selection of fresh pastries and they can make pretty much any coffee drink you can think of.

Overpriced. Food is all right not great. I stopped going due to lack of variety. I’ll sometimes go back to remind myself why I stopped going then i stop going again. Cycle repeats itself over and over. I have a problem learning my lesson. Oh i know why i keep coming here! hot chicks they like to study here.

I guess it’s A-Ok…if you’re in that part of campus and have no other choice. The lunch entrées are relatively good, I don’t think any other meal on their menu is worth $ 6.75 other than their lasagna(which comes with a bread stick). The made to order salads and sandwiches are around the same price $ 6.75. The serving size is whatever can fit in the medium sized brown to go boxes… Completely accurate form of measurement. The prepackaged salads are 50 cents cheaper… not worth it. $ 6.25 for a salad? Come on it’s LEAVES and chopped chicken bits. The other prepackaged foods(i.e. sushi/feta & sundried tomatoes/Mozzarella & sundried tomatoes) not worth it. The small cheese and sundried tomato containers will cost you ~$ 5…oh hell no. There are also crackers, chips, candy, fruit, and pastries. The snacks are definitely overpriced. Why would you pay $ 3 for a bag of goldfish crackers if you can get it for $ 1 elsewhere. They better be truffle oil infused goldfish crackers. Pro: Large(Venti sized) Tea = $ 1.80 Con: Everything else leads to loss of appetite and financial depression.

Tutor Café is a great place to grab some lunch and hang out with friends. It’s also a great place to study in between classes! The café gets crowded at lunch times, but it’s nice to sit in the patio area when it’s warm. For food, I sometimes grab a blueberry scone or make my own special sandwich. They also have a chicken caesar wrap which my friends are quite fond of. Overall, they have a bunch of good food, as well as coffee and tea. I definitely recommend coming here, especially if you have a bunch of spare dining dollars from meal plans!

Great place to study, okay place to eat. Im always focused sitting at the tables here. Does get a little loud around lunch time but if you can easily zone out sounds like me, it’s not too much of a distraction. They have a spinach ensalata I really love. Drink wise, I’d recommend the chai latte(not too sweet, not too hot) Workers never seem to have a smile on their face but Im sure they’re happier on the inside~

Ostensibly a trendy upscale place to grab a meal, the food is overpriced and very few of the different daily items are any good — you’ll finish your meal with a full stomach, but always thinking you’ve had better. The deli is average at best. Lastly, the ‘international food’ is horrible. Panda Express and Taco Bell are more authentic than the poor attempts the chefs make behind Tutor Café. I go only for convenience and lack of time in my schedule.

Good for its proximity to the engineering quad, and the variety is certainly nice. Definitely a lot better than some of the other eateries on campus, with an international twist. I enjoy lunching here with a good friend of mine when he’s trying to get rid of his discretionary dollars, and typically snag the spot under the stairs when it’s too cold to enjoy the weather.
