This is our go-to when we’re in the area and my husband ALWAYS wants to eat here. The food is always great and I always leave feeling like I got a great meal. They’re family friendly and are always just really nice. We came here once a while back when they were unexpectedly closed and they gave us a gift card for our next visit.

WHAT A MENU! This place has something for everyone, including an extensive breakfast menu that is offered beyond standard breakfasting hours. Saturday afternoon was packed, but the four of us were seated almost immediately. I ordered the Eggs Benedict — it wasn’t fancy, but it was everything I had hoped for. We also ordered a Jalapeño Chicken Burger with Coleslaw. The coleslaw was the hit — very fresh with cilantro and lime — no mayonnaise. The burger was a bit spicy and very juicy, there were caramelized onions and bacon slices on a brioche roll. The service was great. They continually checked to see if the soda drinkers wanted refills(for free). We will absolutely visit again.

Food was AMAZING! The service was great too. Sat at the bar. Pretty busy so expect to wait a few mins but I’m sure the wait is worth it. Wasn’t a big fan of the mimosa or Bloody Mary but that’s because I’m not too much of a drinker. I love that they have a healthy option. I recommend this café if you’re staying at any of the surrounding hotels by the airport. Bill came out to about $ 50 Two meals Two coffees Mimosa Bloody Mary

I always went for the big amazing burgers. Well today I had breakfast for the first time there and it was amazing. I had the chilaquiles and burger patty and i had to force myself to finish it. Also there is $ 4 mimosas!

I tend to have long layovers on my international flights through LAX. I have used this time to get together for a meal with friends in the LA basin. But restaurants close to LAX have generally been abysmal. Discovering Truxton’s has been a god-send. My wife has dined here on business trips and recommended it highly. She really enjoys their pastas. I opted for their shrimp tacos. They were excellent with good quality corn tortillas, very crunchy slaw and large plump shrimp with a perfect drizzle of a tangy and slightly sweet dressing. Service was congenial, if a little bit on the slow side. I did not have a plane to catch this visit, but it would make me think twice if I did have a tight flight connection to make.

Tucked around the corner off Manchester Blvd., just a «stone’s throw» away frome LAX(I do not recommend throwing stones near LAX) is a local restaurant I totally love! Nothing Earth-Shattering or for«Food Snobs» or Trolls to get all worked up over. Just a nice, homey, cool place to enjoy lunch, brunch or dinner at. Truxton’s is the quintessential model of what the«American Restaurant«should be. Besides being clean, offering friendly, efficient service and a kitchen that hammers out American Classics like burgers, ribs, steaks, pastas, salads all with that nuanced Truxton’s touch. It makes an effort to keep the menu interesting for even the most frequented customers. Like my lunch today… Grilled(Certified Angus Beef) Hanger Steak(rare) with Smashed Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus and fresh Lemonade! Actually a low fat, low sodium meal you’ll LOVE!!! For anybody that doesn’t know what a Hanger Steak aka Hanging Tender, Butcher’s Steak or in France… Onglet is you are in for a treat. Whether you normally prefer Filet Mignon, RibEye, Flat Iron, or NY Steak, you will find the Hanger Steak’s lean, very tender yet juicy, flavorful texture that would match the flavor challenge to the taste buds of the most decerning palates. This is a cut of beef overlooked by most non-classically trained chefs that I will describe in another cookbook or article. The fact that Truxton’s offers it as one of their lunch specials menu speaks volumes of where their kitchen is. My only suggestions to you would be to ask for the cheese topping to be served on the side and to pan finish in real butter after removing from the grill. Such a pleasure to have Cuisine Americana done so well. Truxton…Truxton’s. …Truxton! They get it! Now go get yours! «Always be True to the Cuisine«- Chef Dom ENJOY!

Dallas and the rest of the staff are so friendly! I ordered the cinnamon orange French toast with a side of sausage and egg, and a bloody Mary — all was delicious! Definitely recommend this place.

Great food and great service. I had the garlic fries and the wild mushroom linguine with shrimp. Both were delicious! Passion fruit fizz tasted similar to a mojito, but better. My friends all enjoyed each of their dishes as well – seafood pasta, barbacoa taquitos, and grilled chicken. Next time I’m in town again, I’m definitely coming back.

I really like he atmosphere in the Truxton. It was large enough to accommodate but not to big to be impersonal. The service was really good. I had the half chicken and a side salad. No complaints about the food at all. This is a return spot for sure.

We’ve lived in the area for 5 years and this is one of our go-to spots. A variety of dishes on the menu, including seasonal specials, that have yet to disappoint. The burgers are my favorite and my wife likes the salads. I rarely write reviews, but I’m doing so this time to praise not just the food, but the awesome customer service that the manager in the evenings, Steve provides. He is genuinely friendly and very attentive. You can tell he takes great pride in the restaurant and service they provide. He has a constant smile on his face except when he is concerned that you may not be completely happy with your experience at Truxton’s and if you are not, he will remedy that for you as fast as he can. Steve makes spending your money here and going out for dinner worth the trip.

The food was delicious as usual but the front door lock was being repaired as we waited 20 minutes for a table for 2. The temperature was in the high 40’s as the cold wind was blowing through the doors being repaired. When we were seated we realized the table for 20+ people sat empty. They could have easily separated the tables and seated everyone who was waiting.

We used come here every other month. We venture out of the South Bay — 10 miles is WAY out of our way to us — because the food used to be tasty and the service warm. I say ‘used’ because today happened. Today, my ahi burger was supposed to be medium rare(as the chef recommends) but it came out well done. Quinoa was used as a binder and a filler. And they skimped on the ginger sauce. So boy was it DRRRY. Like the Sahara! I also used to think the portions were large but, again, not today. My husband ordered a $ 13 flatbread and it came out smaller and thinner than a kiddie meal. This couldn’t have been a mistake since it’s a regular menu item. Hubby was NOT a happy camper. Parking in this lot is a cluster. The lot is always packed and there have been times where I’ve circled for 20+ minutes. You really need good parking karma and have luck on your side. The food used to make this battle worth it… I don’t know what happened today but we’ll give Truxton’s one more try before we nix it off our list. After all, we got suckered into buying a gift card($ 5 free if you buy $ 25) while we were waiting to get seated — them sly dogs! As such, their saving grace is their birthday club — else I’d give only 1 – 2 stars. $ 20 off a meal during your birthday month. Sign up online or in the restaurant.

Truxton is a pretty decent restaurant that serves your typical American food with large portions that are usually enough to share. They have plenty of seating for groups and it is conveniently located in the heart of Westchester. Even for the pickiest of eaters, they really have a vast menu and the food has never disappointed. Be prepared to roll out of there stuffed or at least take home a doggy bag because everything is super-sized. Overall, they give pretty consistent service, the food is always tasty and the portions are huge. And although shoestring potatoes are my least favorite way to have fries, their garlic fries are very yummy served with the Portland burger.

I’ve been to Truxton’s before and I can say I’m a fan of the things I’ve tasted. My first visit consisted of a Louisiana blackened shrimp pizza and some monkey bread. This visit I found out that the pizza was seasonal. This was no problem as all I wanted was the monkey bread. This is some good stuff. Unlike the traditional sweet monkey bread, this is baked with garlic and cheddar. This bread is a must for anyone visiting. My four star rating goes from both visits as a whole. I also tasted a small bit of my friends Mac n cheese that was awesome. So much bacon flavor!!! Combine this with the monkey bread and your meal is set. Dinner 11/15/2015

A super chill spot on the outer edge of Westchester, a gem on a side street, Truxton’s is a cool place to be. I have yet to stop in and have this place NOT be hopping with people and conversation. I had the Portland Burger which was delicious. The service is fast and friendly. I have also been here to drink wine and study, and it was great. This is a great date spot, friend spot, family spot, any occasion spot.

Truxton’s is always my go-to spot for a nice lunch when I’m in the area. It truly is a gem on the west side and never disappoints! There is a parking lot in the back, which is free, so no need to find meter parking. The inside atmosphere is contemporary and casual, with lots of seating and a full bar. The service is always spot on, too. The waiters are extremely friendly and attentive and they make the dining experience great. I highly recommend starting out with the Monkey Bread as an appetizer. The only monkey bread I’ve had before was pastry-like and sweet, but the one here is a savory kind that is baked as cheesy garlic bread. It comes with an assortment of dipping sauces that make it taste that much better too. It definitely opens up your appetite for the rest of your meal. I usually order the ¼ dark meat Rotisserie Chicken that comes with Garlic Fries and I always choose the Garlic Butter Sauce on the side. The chicken is free range and I love the way it is marinated. The dish itself is pretty simple, but still memorable and worth ordering everytime. The portion is pretty large and definitely filling. Even though I always order the same things, the menu is big with lots of options and they are always changing it, so there is something for everyone. I would say the food is high quality and reasonably priced for what you get. I definitely recommend coming here if you are ever in the area!

I’ve been here for lunches only and have had good experiences. My go to plates are the ahi tuna and the grilled fish tacos. Service is pretty good I’ve never had a bad experience. They also have some good healthy options if you are looking for something good and light. Let’s not forget about the bistro cookie, oh so yummy! It’s almost like the pazookie from BJ’s.

I had a flight at midnight from LAX and wanted to grab dinner and drinks near the airport. This place looked yummy on Unilocal so decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! We started with the famous Truxton’s Monkey Bread($ 4.98). It was really good but tasted just like regular garlic, cheese bread. It was super soft though and the sauces it came with hit the spot and went well with the monkey bread. For dinner, I got the Tomato, basil and burrata flat bread and I added the chicken($ 14.95). So yummy! It was extremely savory and had enough veggies and chicken in every bite. My sister got the Chicken and mushroom flat bread($ 13.98). I don’t like mushrooms so didn’t try it but she enjoyed her flatbread as well. My friend got The Portland burger($ 12.55). Again, I don’t like mushrooms so I didn’t try it but my friend loved it! The burger came with a side order of fries. My sister and I were craving fries too so we ordered the Parmesan garlic fries($ 6.25). Yummy scrummy fries for sure! I love Parmesan garlic so I was in heaven ;) We also had the Riesling wine and Pinot Grigio. At this particular location, I liked the Pinot way more! My sister got coffee but it was cold so boo! If you get coffee, make you tell them to bring it out hotttt! Parking is super easy. There is a huge parking lot behind the restaurant with plenty of spots. The area of the restaurant is a little ghetto but there’s other restaurants and stores in the area so it’s nice. Now, on to the staff. Our waiter was new and could not answer any of our questions. He was super sweet so I felt bad, but my sister and friend were getting a little annoyed. Even though he was new, he should be able to answer our questions. But like I said, super sweet guy and he tried! He was a little slow with things, but I’m sure with practice he will be just fine :) The vibe is super chill inside. I was expecting it to be hella packed on a Friday night but it wasn’t. We got seated right away which was nice since we were hungry and I had a flight to catch. Surprising cus the food is good! I guess there is just way too much to eat in LA! Just an FYI: their menu changes so your favs may not be on the menu the next time you come! I’ll be back if I ever have a flight out of LAX or I’m in the area. Check it out!

I used my birthday coupon and tried them out for the first time this week. The place was pretty empty. I had a really great candied jalapeño chicken burger. There were thick cuts of applewood smoked bacon, it had provolone cheese and yummy jalapenos. I was good until later in the day when my stomach sounded like it was going to explode. Not sure if it was from the food or what. But my stomach was not happy later. It rumbled so loud my other coworkers could hear it.
