This place sucks! I have been here at least 3 times and the food is always consistently bad. I gave it 3 chances and still bad. It taste old and stale. Just low quality all the way around.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and it’s still one of the tastiest burgers in East LA. Can’t go wrong with a cheeseburger and fries.

This place was so good at one point. Now everything is going. The other day my mom bought chilli cheese fries and instead of using shredded cheese they put square cheese, YES the cheese they use for burgers that just tasted yucky. & Today my parents bought zucchini’s and some where pure breading & small piece of zucchini. Very oily too.

I’ve been eating here for forty years, but no more. I like green pork in salsa verde burritos. The one I ordered here recently was too hot to eat, I asked to speak to the cook, and I told him in Spanish that I thought there was too much chile in the pork. He told me that was the way it is. I tried to explain to him that he was cooking for the public, not just for himself, or his family and friends, that he should at least take seriously comments like mine. He could care less, he was completely uninterested in what anyone thought about his cooking. I’ve had the hamburgers, they look a bit sloppy to me. They do charbroil their burgers so that’s a plus, I can’t do that at home. The fries are previously frozen, nothing special. Their hash browns do look very fresh, and tasty. The drinks are watery fountain sodas. There is no drive up window, the name Troy Drive in implies there is drive up service. I suppose they mean you can drive into their parking lot. There aren’t any good hamburger places in the area to give them competition. Troy used to have some gorgeous hand painted outdoor patio tables. They had beautiful Aztec motifs. They disappeared about ten years ago, I don’t know it they were stolen, or sold to some collector.

Don’t expect ahhhhmazing food here, it is what it looks like– cheap, fast, and greasy– but OH I love it so! Their burgers are yummy, and their chili cheese fries are loaded with bad-for-you-goodness. I like this place!

Burger special was ok. No free refills, Salty fries when I asked for no salt on my fries. 1 ketchup per special. Make sure you check your food because they have been known to mess up orders. If you plan on calling a phone order good luck if its ready.

Loved the atmosphere. Were burrito fans(Lucky Boy fanatics) The pinto beans were superb in my Carnitas Burrito and my wife digged the Bean and Cheese burrito.

I just left this place in total disgust. I took my boys out for a bite to eat. We ordered a double cheeseburger special,(just ok) two fish tacos(unedible, straight to trash), one shrimp basket(deep fried charcoal brickettes straight to trash) and one corn dog(dangerously edible), two extra large Jamaicas(so tart and pungent that you could burn a hole through a brick with this toxic cocktail). What’s worse is that we mentioned it to the staff and we were looked at as if we are crazy. I asked for one of them to take a drink of their slurry that they were passing off as agua fresca but they refused. I wonder why? I then asked to see their grade from the health department that was nowhere to be found. I was told to get out and never come back. No problem with pleasure.

My coworker calls me a food snob, a title I own up to with great pride. He occasionally asks me if I have ever tried such and such restaurant but I don’t even have to utter a word and he begins ridiculing me because of my facial expression. «What’s wrong with such in such?» I try to explain but he will never understand. «Troy Burgers are the best,» he claims with fervor.(To complete his argument, draw a mental image of him leveling his right hand near the navel.) «_____________is down here… TROYBURGERS are right here!»(levels his left hand above his scalp). Now with such raucous proclamation, how could I refuse? Often, I taunt him as he passes me by. I could totally be in deep convo with someone and I immediately switch gears and begin saying«blah blah Troy Burger.» His ears perk up and he stops with frustration and asks, «When are we going? Let’s go!» all while performing the same routine mentioned in the prior paragraph. I know… I’m a heartless individual. Last week, I decided to go to Troy Burger just to shut him up. I picked up 4 burger specials: One for me, one for him, and two for other coworkers. Our order also included an order of Fried Zucchini. I told him I picked up burgers from John’s Burgers on Whittier Blvd & Garfield Ave just to see what his response would be after. ME:Hey Juny, how’d you like John’s Bugers? JUNY: It was okay… ME: Really, just okay? JUNY: Yeah, it was good… but it wasn’t as good as Troy’s. ME: Dude… those were Troy burgers! JUNY: NOWAY, ROLO! THATWASNOT A TROYBURGER!!! ME: Yes it was… here’s the receipt! JUNY: NO! I don’t believe it! You found a Troy receipt. That was definitely not from Troy Burger! And those fries… those were totally not Troy’s fries. Read ‘em and weep, my friend! Do you think that was a cruel stunt? Tell me your thoughts… ABC Burger Special($ 7.00): 1.5÷5 Overall ABC Burger: 2⁄5 | Fries: 1⁄5 As for burgers go, this was your standard inner city burger joint’s quality burger. They all follow the same template: Dry sesame bun, ¼ overcooked patty, cheese, limp bacon, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, pickles, 1000 Island dressing. This burger had fresh avocado. There was really nothing special, as a matter of fact, it was not as good as neighboring burger stands by my work. Troy’s fries were a bit deceiving. Most appeared golden brown with a few limp but they shared the same trait of tasting like they were fried in old oil. Texture was rubbery firm outside and not soft inside but a bit dry and borderline chalky, while greasy to the touch. Home Made Zucchini($ 3.00): 2⁄5 I have a very difficult time reconciling the idea that these are home made. They were poorly battered, soggy, and lifeless. Each stick was flat and way too tender. When picked up, they fell limp. They didn’t taste too bad. They were just difficult to enjoy. Now that I’ve silenced my coworker, I think he’ll no longer make any food recommendations. One thing is certain… I not be back anytime soon(if ever again). Thanks for the experience, Juny! =/

Viva la fried Zucchini in East L.A. Mexican food looks yummy. Hot Latinas on the flat screen over the salsa bar. This is living! The Diet Coke seemed a little off but the Zucchini was fair to great. I will call this place home when i am hungry in barrio!

I grew up near Troy’s and have fond memories of the place. I went there recently in the AM for the first time in like 30 years and tried their breakfast burrito. Although not as good as Doublz in Montebello, they breakfast burrito was hearty and tasty. I had their coffee which I thought was weak. But the burrito was solid and their salsa bar was okay. Their menu is pretty extensive and I thought their breakfast prices were high compared to other places of the same ilk.
