My first thoughts on this place were off because of the wait. However, it’s not fast food and it shows. They make excellent sandwiches, including the best BLT I’ve had in a long time(they call it The Western). I’ve gotten The Western(BLT) and The Consigliere(a turkey, corned beef ruebenesque type sandwich on a baguette). Got The Western with my bacon medium, which is how I like it, and it came out stellar. The Consigliere, while very good, isn’t my first choice. I’m a sucker for anything bacon and have to call The Western my favorite. Parking leaves something to be desired. It’s sort of in a residential neighborhood and street spots are limited. Your option is to park on Sunset in a metered spot or try to find something within a reasonable distance. Overall, highly recommended.

Grabbed a sandwich(The Western) with the house chips to-go for lunch. Took about 30 minutes for the order to be ready, which is a little long to wait, and they didn’t seem too slammed. But the food was excellent, service was friendly, and the atmosphere was very chill. Next time I’ll come back with my wife and eat there.

Tofu bahn mi is my favorite thing on the menu. The bread is great and the sauce used on the fried tofu is delicious. Careful with the few jalapeño slices in the sandwich they can be hot! The mac and cheese is really great. There’s a sense of smokiness in the cheese and it’s great!

I would have to think what keeps Trencher from being 5 stars… probably not much since this joint is awesome. Let’s start with the basics food A+ Service — tons of smiles Ambience — a little music jamming in the background, today it’s Tom Petty.(Yes I like Tom) It’s a very cute, café that is everything cool about Echo Park. The people are really nice, the food is good and I feel special.

The low number of stars is not for the quality of the food. I had the pulled pork sandwich with lemonade and a(comped) peanut butter cookie, which were all well above average. The pork was moist, and the slaw was very good. If I come back I would order it again. The two stars is a reflection of the service. I walked in at noon on a Wednesday, no one was at a table and only one person ahead of me was ordering. It took almost 10 minutes to order as the cashier decided to take a phone order ahead of me. Oh well, not that big of a deal, I’m patient. After waiting an additional 30 minutes my sandwich was still not out. I went up to the counter, and asked if my food was ready, it wasn’t, but she offered me a cookie. I appreciated the offer and took her up on it. But time is money right? So $ 13.50 for a sandwich and drink and 45 minutes of waiting, the cost was too high. Even for food that was good. I would give the food 4 stars, the service 1, for an average of 2.5.

I love breakfast sandwiches and The Cure is awesome! You get two in one order. The biscuit is especially yummy.

Tried their pulled pork sand which, not amazing but not bad? I think it could use a bit more flavor and switch out the brioche because it became soggy half way through — definitely going to give this place another try. The place is cute, quiet, and small :) Definitely check it out for yourself!

Delicious food but they have managed to screw up 100% of my call in orders. Oh well. There are more sandwiches in the world, I guess.

I would recommend any of the sandwiches that feature the fried chicken, that seems to be their forte. I had the dirty fries, but would opt for the plain fries next time around. One big plus is the caffeinated hot sauce :)

I’m a southern boy so when you have fried chicken on the menu I’m ordering it. They have fried chicken here with a waffle and also in a sandwich. Both are flippin delicious. Trying the Reuben next if I can stop getting the chicken. Their fried chicken is sopping with grease like some of these soul food places who shall remain unnamed. Very very awesome coming back asap

Went looking for a deli after we found out the one we drove out to closes at 4pm. Found this little gem about 2 miles away. Ordered the Angus Beef added Avocado and the turkey sandwich on multigrain. Thought we would get a little adventurous and ordered the dirty fries. Sat down in about 10 minutes our food arrived. The Angus burger was moist, juices flowing and just the right size. The fresh chips were good, if they were fresh out of the fryer they would be that much better. The turkey was a little on the dry side in hindsight should have added avocado. The dirty fries were deLISH, nice crunch on the outside that holds up the gravy. For drinks had the fresh squeezed lemonade and cold chamomile tea.

Prices were decent until we ordered the food and found out what we received for the price. As we ordered a salad from their online list. They stated it wasn’t available, and suggested other salads that were. I asked for a salad with balsamic, and I received a salad WITHONLYREDONIONSANDFRISELETTUCE. That’s it! Can a girl get a tomato? This was hands down the worst salad I’ve ever ordered. Unfortunately I will never be attempting to eat here again. Sadly I’m still hungry.

Gotta say, thank you so much for coming through when I needed it. Just moved into the neighborhood, unpacking after a week of moving. Exhausted, and needed some quick, delicious energy to keep me going. Was so happy this place was as amazing as everyone said. CONSIGLIERE Maybe one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time. Great flavor combo, great ingredients, and the bread is so fresh and amazing. A must try. THECOUPE Really good, but much more mild than I thought it would be. Chicken was very delicately fried and again very fresh, tasty bun. Think this sandwich suffered from comparisons from the Consigliere. MACANDCHEESE Amazing. a little spicy and home cooked. Real good. Buffalo Cauliflower Original idea and executed extremely well even for take out /delivery. Thanks again owners of Trencher. you rule.

I’ve only ordered to go from Trencher and so far it has never been a disappointment! I want to keep coming back to try their other sandwiches and even their brunch! It’s in the mid-range pricing wise but you get what you pay for: super tasty, flavorful, big sandwiches. They come with delicious, fresh chips too — score! So far I’ve had the Reuben and Fried Chicken Banh Mi — both awesome! We’ve also had their fries which are OMGSOGOOD! Fresh also, they seem to be triple-fried or something, and each one is perfectly crisp and seasoned! Friendly staff, neighborhood parking. This place is a great casual spot that I hope sticks around!

This is a nice little place that can be passed up if you don’t know what you’re looking for. The menu is quite small but Im sure you’ll love any item you order from here. I had the chicken club with a side order of buffalo cauliflower. The chicken club comes with chips. I think it was the perfect sandwich with just the right amount of everything to make it über tasty. The sandwich is also quite large so part of me felt guilty finishing the entire thing. My personal favorite is the buffalo cauliflower. What a great way of making the traditional wings/chicken just a tad healthier. You MUST try this item if you make it to Trencher. I had a cup of water with lunch. They have a nice set up near the door with utensils, water and cups. Street parking is available outside and finding a spot was a breeze. As far as I could tell, the only restrictions are for street cleaning days.

I like Trencher. I do. The staff is genuinely friendly, the prices are pretty much in line with standard sandwich economics in LA, the interior is super cute and the food is good. But really only good, not great. I really really wish the sandwiches had a more complex flavor. Every time I bite into one I just think of how much better it could be. The Coupe(fried chicken sandwich) needs a spicy element, the brisket definitely could use more pickled onions and another«bam!» of flavor if you know what I mean. And that’s why I’ve awarded them four stars, because it is GOOD and my nitpicky issues are just that, MY nitpicky issues.
