This place is filthy! Was here the other day. Food and nail clippings everywhere! And a $ 35POLISHCHANGE. Old polishes that chip within days. That’s ridiculous when I usually pay $ 40 for a full mani-pedi. Never again.

I have been going to TLC for fills and pedicures for at least 15 years. I have been a client since they were first located on Westwood Boulevard. They have been in the Brentwood Shopping Mart just off San Vicente Blvd for many years. I would never think of going anywhere else. The shop is very clean and all the instruments are always sterilized. My fills are so natural looking and the polish lasts for two weeks. I only need to get a pedicure every month because the polish on my toes last that long also. Tron’s work is fabulous. I can’t believe that not only is she on time but I am finished in one hour and she never takes a shortcut. If you like hand drawn artwork on your nails just ask Tron to design something for you. She is a real artist as evidenced by the design on her nails. Everyone in the shop is very friendly. The shop is small so it is usually very quiet and when you are finished you can go shopping or get something to eat and drink. I have been going to Helen for a Pedicure for years and when she is out of town I go to Honey. Everyone in the shop is very light thanded which means that they won’t hurt or nick your cuticles. I recommend TLC very highly due to their work ethics, ability to get along with everyone and excellent work. Judy M.

During my first 4 hours in LA I managed to get a parking ticket and a Sherwin Williams paint truck hit me. Seriously! Sooo when I was in need of a manicure I decided to use my Unilocal app and walk(a novelty in LA) to the nearest location. And that’s how I discovered TLC nails… just across the street from the Country Mart. It’s hidden so if you too would like to indulge in a 2 star manicure look for Free People… and you’ll see it. I’m shocked I actually sat in the owner’s chair based on the lack of cleanliness of the place alone. I clearly really needed a manicure. During my manicure the nail technician/owner took several personal calls &(if possible) seemed to forget she had a client in her chair. She did answer a few work related calls towards the end of my manicure & even the way she spoke to her clients was shocking. Ex: «I’m going to have to tell you a time that’s much earlier than your appointment because I can’t trust you to be on time.» Maybe I’ve just gotten used to good old Midwestern values, but that’s not how we speak to others back in Chicago. The manicure itself was rushed and just OK. It lasted about 5 days, but then again that seems to be the norm for most of my regular manicures. During the last few minutes of my(not so) relaxing manicure the owner hung up the phone and we had an entertaining chat. There were many other women in the nail salon who chatted with us and I got the feeling that most of them have been going there for several years. Personally i’d take the time to find a cleaner nail salon with better customer service, but to each their own.

I love this place and I have been a loyal client for 15 years. Their women are terrific, the salon is extremely clean and the prices are very reasonable(there are no extra charges, like $ 5 for buffing or polish), Enjoy as I do.

I can’t believe no one else has reviewed this place, especially since it’s been around forever! So, here are my thoughts : I called to make an appt and the woman was very nice and gave me an appt right away. I decided to try this place since it is next door to the Bubble Blow dry and Make up and Go studio and I had an appt there later that day. The location was convenient so I thought, why not. So this is one of those nail salons that’s been around for a long time. The salon itself is pretty dated and run down. There are about 8 tables– they don’t have those spa style chairs. The ladies who work there are all very nice and they don’t try and push you into extra services, massages etc. Anyway, they have a sterilizing machine that they use to clean their tools and they line their pedi tubs with plastic to make it as sanitary as possible. They did a great job scrubbing my feet and making them super soft :) You kinda get a mom and pop feel about this place… it’s not as «pretty» as some other salons in the area, but the mani/pedi is good. The main issue I have with this place is the price… get ready for this one… $ 43 dollars for a mani/pedi??? WTF??? That is obscene. With tip, I paid almost 50 bucks. Definitely not worth that ATALL. I guess they have to make their rent somehow. The breakdown is 25 for a pedi and 18 for mani. They don’t give you deal when you do both… what??? Ok, so was it a good place– I guess. Will I got back– not a chance with that price tag! Zumany Nails is further down on San Vicente across from the Brentwood Gardens shopping center, and they are just as good but much cheaper. Try them if you need somewhere in Brentwood.
