Good food, bad service. Waitress so damn rude, pushing me and my girl all the time to choose quickly and came and said that we were on a budget. Wtf? Who is her to say if somebody is on a budget. You’re just a waitress! I didn’t say anything on that time cause I don’t want thai spit on my food.

The shrimp tempura was delicious. I asked for carry out order and it was ready quickly which I appreciated. Only complain I had was the chicken pad Thai being a little bland, it needed more salt. The cabbage was a bit weird, I’ve never had some on a chicken pad Thai but I guess it’s what they do. The shrimp tempura had broccoli accompanying it which was surprisingly delicious and their sweet sauce that came with the dish was flavorful and had a bit of spice which I like. I would recommend people ordering the shrimp tempura, be weary that the pad Thai may not live to the expectation you may have due to the other restaurant versions. This restaurant was also cheap! I guess you get what you pay for. Very economical.

We visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday based on Unilocal reviews and location. It is in Koreatown, where there is plenty of street parking(and some parking structures surrounding as well). There were lunch/dinner combination specials(which looked like they were all day kind of deals), but it was hardly necessary as this place is very affordable! My spicy fried rice was 6.50 and my boyfriend got the garlic chicken combination plate for around the same price. It was kind of odd because they specify that we cannot share the combination plates(I believe they mean no «family style» dining). The portions were good for the price(no left overs) and my spicy fried rice was SPICY. They were not kidding.

I’ve been coming here for almost 3 years and they never seem to disappoint me. Tried almost everything on the menu. It’s simply delicious!

I wanted to like the food a lot but I didn’t :( The coconut soup was really flavorful but the low quality chicken kinda messed it up. The meat wasn’t big or juicy. It was tiny pieces of meat and you can still see the fat and a little cartilage on it. Ordered the beef pad se ew, it was okay. And a ginger chicken dish. Nothing very memorable and again the meat wasn’t good quality at all. Even the ice coffee and Thai iced tea was just okay. Food would be so much better with quality ingredients. The waitress was really nice and attentive.

Cheap lunch specials(six fitty), but truth be told, food is not all that great. Comes with a tiny salad and scoop of white and fried rice. Tried the garlic chicken, it’s aiite. Cash only. Hae Ha Heng up Western has much better food.

5 stars for the service. 3.5 stars for the food. Had the chicken pad thai. Decent. Cash only. For those lard asses who complain about parking, take the Purple Line to the end of the line, and the store is 200 feet north.

Wanted to try this place, as I love Thai food. Ordered the spicy seafood soup, mild spicy, because I like to add the the red spicy chili my self. It is wonderful. The flat noodles are great, I asked for it as a combination, chicken, beef and shrimp(not on the menu as such). Ordered pineapple fried rice with shrimp… amazing. Great food, street parking, NORESTROOM… big minus, but the food makes up for it.

Yummmmm!!! And they opened the locked doors for us! Seriously the food is Delish, but I might have given these the stars just for preparing food for us after they’d closed!

Good, basic Thai food made by friendly women in a clean, diner type setting. This won’t be the authentic style of Ruen Pair in Thaitown, but for our neighborhood around Wilshire & Western, it is so great to have good hearty Thai food within walking distance. Everything is clean and fresh and well made. All the dishes you’d see in any Thai place anywhere in the US, prepared well. Reasonably priced as well. Take out or eat in a pleasant, clean atmosphere. Very Lunchy style place. They close early(like 6 or 7PM) so be aware. Make friends with the people there and they will go the extra mile for you.

This is my favorite spot in K-town! It’s a hidden gem for sure. The service is impeccable! The one server they have is THE best. She remembers your previous order even if you haven’t been in a while. I called in an order one time and she told me if I couldn’t find parking that she’d deliver it to the nearest curb. Told me the total and even bought the correct change with her outside. You can’t beat that kind of service! Prices are reasonable? NO they’re cheap:-) the food is well seasoned and served in decent portions. Thai iced tea isn’t overly sweet and the iced coffee is good too. I’ve tried other Thai restaurants but I always feel like I’m cheating on Tips House. I’ll just stick to what I know. My faves are the spicy garlic chicken, the BBQ wings and the Pad See Ew but all of their menu is awesome. You HAVE to try it for yourself. Been coming here 2+ years so far and I haven’t been disappointed yet!

This place is definitely a hidden gem, a mom and pops hole in the wall with the most authentic Thai food in Koreatown! The food is so packed with flavor! Disclaimer: I’m not Thai but I can say I had my fair share of Thai food in LA county and I can compare it to Thai food in Thailand!) I would definitely go out of my way to get cash, just so I can eat here! The lady serving you is hilarious, very personable and attentive! 5 stars for service! Tip: They deliver within the immediate area with a $ 15 minimum! I work nearby so this is awesome!

My new neighborhood Thai spot. This mom and pop shop came in the clutch when I was craving Thai food and didn’t want to leave my neighborhood. Ordered takeout and the service was nice-they’re willing to take it out to your car if you can’t find parking. Food Pad thai was good but expect half of the dish to be bean sprouts. The curry was amazing, so good that even though I usually don’t eat spicy food I gladly made an exception for it(tasty and cleared my sinuses). Beware, cash only.

My second time here for lunch and Tip’s super sweet as always! It’s on the side street just right by a tailor shop. Be cash ready as they don’t take cards at all

#7BBQ pork spare rib & thai iced tea. Those words don’t even need to come out of my mouth, as I have been a repeat customer here for the last 13 years and they know me like family now. My mom has been coming here since 1991, and swears it hasn’t changed a bit since. Tip’s House has had exceptional food and service since the first time I walked through the glass door. The dressing they use for the starter salad is unbelievable, causing me to buy a small container every time i pass by(They technically don’t sell it to customers, but they know i travel far to visit them). The sauce they use for their BBQ is delicious as it doesn’t over power the rich flavors of the spare rib. The egg rolls are probably the best I have ever had, perfectly crunchy, with the most balanced sweet & sour sauce to go along with it. My mom and grandma swear by the spicy garlic shrimp which also looks like a mouth-watering delicacy of its own. Needless to say, this is one place that I hope never changes, because it’s not just the great food that makes Tip’s House have an emotional connection with my past, but their attention and devotion to caring for customers is impeccable.

The tastiest Thai food I’ve had in LA so far. Everything is very flavorful and seems to be authentic, judging from the old Thai ladies cooking in the back. Noodle dishes and curries are all on point. Service is always friendly and prompt. Docked off a star for convenience — they are cash only and parking on this street is an absolute clusterfuck.

I love this neighborhood Thai restaurant! I first would like to give compliments to the staff there because they are always so friendly and approachable every time I’ve eaten or picked up food from there. The food is pretty solid and I appreciate how they have a lunch/dinner combo plate. I particularly enjoy the Spicy Garlic Chicken & the Chicken Satay. The combo meals come with 2 scoops of white rice(can change it to fried rice for an extra 50 cents), an egg roll and a side salad — all for generally $ 7 – 9! I would say that is a great bargain! Parking may be a little tricky since there isn’t a designated parking lot(and let’s be real — it’s Ktown haha) and also the restaurant is Cash only. There is an ATM across the street at the liquor market in the plaza on the corner but it does charge a service fee. Also note their hours on their website since they close at 7PM and are not open on Sundays.

Much better than anything Thai Town but let’s say, not that pleasing to the eye. First they don’t use white meat dry-ass chicken. Thank god. Another terrible gift of «white» American cuisine. White meat for white people — is chicken racist too? Flavors are very good and while I wouldn’t say as good as Asia, better than the crap they serve in LA with the exception of san Gabriel valley. A little too Chinese in the flavor department to be perfect but a nice change from everything else in Ktown. Their rules about how many plates they’ll give you to share or not are ducking ridiculous. And the fact that it closes just when dinner hits is also stupidity beyond belief. Other than that — awesome!

TL;DR — Cute little hole in the wall with some stellar service. Ok. Ok. I’m such a sucker for a good lunch special. I got the beef satay lunch special and the thai iced tea. Total was under $ 10. Not bad! The server was so nice and friendly, and the wait was pretty fast. The food is decent. I’ve had better, but this is the closest to my place without driving all the way into Hollywood. Overall, it is a little greasy, but thats ok. Its not like anyone goes out to eat and expects«clean eating». Anyway, I had a tasty cheat day lunch! I’ll be back for the pad thai soon, mwuahaha.
