This place is horrible. my co workers and Me ordered breakfast from here and we found a little roach in the huevos rancheros. It was the grosses thing ever. Then when we called to tell them about it the lady was very rude and disrespectful and was trying to argue with me and tell me i was lying. Worst experience ever. DONOTGOTHERE!!!

Worst Mexican food that I had in my entire life. Claiming to be the best authentic Birria ever, I was just not aware of how it should look, The food look to be rotten they said it was put in the oven that’s why it looks the way it looked. Even the cook female claim that it was done right

This was my first time walking into Tila’s Kitchen, I was craving a caldo(soup) since it was cloudy and gray outside. I ordered the Caldo de Res, the vegetables were perfect(not over done), the meat tastes fresh and the tortillas were home made. It was so good just like mom makes!

This place gone from bad to worst! I have been coming here since I was a little. I guess they changed owners !! Service was just bad and restaurant was cold inside. My machaca con huevos was burn, dry, and salty the worst part was that they serve it like a dam omelette!

I love this place I live like 3 blocks away. I recommend you order the pupusas con queso with a side order of frijoles and also try the enchiladas! So yummy! Fantastic options! Remember they only accept cash :)

Use to be one of the best resturants in LA, in recent years ownership changes led to the declined. We lost a good one here, their are not taking care of business !

Recently stopped by for breakfast. Me & my husband have been eyeing the place since were local. We decided to stop in & have breakfast before heading out for the day. Service is excellent, the lady welcomed us in helped us right away. As far as service really great!!! We ordered our food. Basic breakfast, but sadly was given the wrong order something we never ordered. How can it go from ordering a torta to receiving a plate with beans & eggs? … Food is pretty plain. My 3 stars are for great service & clean small place.

Been once and I enjoyed it! We got a breakfast meal and burrito and both were great! Nice, casual atmosphere. A little cramped inside, but overall good. Nice people. Good prices.

My brother warned me and I didn’t listen. New owners… Geez… I always had come here for breakfast with my mom. never again… I always had ordered huevos Rancheros with chicharones and mom gets the pupusas. This time I took my little one. Let’s start with my sons order. NO kids menu so I order scrabbled eggs with bacon(no sausage offered) and three pancakes. THEEGGS. Looked like they were left over scraps from the bottom of the pan. Sooooo scrabbled that you can’t even use a fork. the pancakes were decent but a bit dry. Syrup helped. MYPLATE. Had NO chicharones. She said she forgot to let me know they none. so all I got was salsa on eggs and rice and beans. Something I could have done at home. I had to use the chip salsa to get some flavor to my plate. I wasn’t offered any tortillas. Really? MOMSPLATE. The masa was«RANSIA» well that’s what mom said. I didn’t quit know what she meant until I tried a piece. It had a smell that the masa was going bad and tasted bitter. The filling looked light and so oily and I think it didn’t have chicharones. Revueltas? Not quit. No straws. No tortillas were offered. Salsa and chips given minutes before food came out. WHYTHEONESTAR? The coffee was good. But they give you packaged powdered creamer. Down side. NOW I HAVETOFIND A PUPUSERIAINEASTLATHATSGOODTOMYTASTEBUDS. sorry this place couldn’t make it.

The ownership recently changed and I am sad to say that Tila’s in in severe decline. The first thing we noticed when we walked in the Restaurant is that there is a new cook and staff. We remained confident that the food had not changed. Big mistake. I went with my wife and a friend and we ordered Menudo, Chile Verde, Enchiladas de Queso, and a side of Chicharrones. Everything we ordered had changed in flavor and appearance for the worst. The most hideous was the Chicharrones. These were usually cooked in a savory sauce to perfection and had a flavor that would literally put a smile on your face. Today the Chicharrones tasted like something the cat dragged in, and I am usually an optimist when reviewing. The coffee is not the same, with it’s usual hint of canela. It was not fresh and tasted old. The enchiladas were unflavorful, and the menudo was way to light orange and tasted horrible with no hominy. We were severely disappointed and the waiter did not charge us for the Chicharrones. The worst part of our experience is seeing a female waitress brushing her teeth behind the counter. I am never coming back to Tila’s again, it is officially dead for me. The only reason we are giving one star is because the eldery waiter was very nice. I wish we can find out where the old cook went.

I use to eat at Tila’s Kitchen a lot over the years as my family owns a business nearby. However, I actually had not eaten here in almost 10 years and decided it was the place I wanted some chilaquiles from during my visit. I went on 1÷3÷14 with my husband to fulfill my urge for authentic chilaquiles. You enter this small place that looks like a tiny kitchen. There are sloppy posters on the walls with menu options displayed, some with prices, others without. You can order bottled beverages(Coke, Jarritos, etc.) or aguas frescas. The server brought us menus and salsa with chips. The salsa is a dried chili salsa that has a yummy spice. I ordered chilaquiles with eggs, making sure to ask for my chilaquiles crispy because I know they used to make them drenched in sauce. My husband ordered the chile verde, his favorite Mexican staple. Our food came out hot and fresh. My chilaquiles hit the spot with their yummy salsa and the crispiness I like. My husband said that their chile verde was some of the best he’s tried. I would give it a higher rating, but I wish they would work a bit more on their atmosphere and make sure their prices matched the portion a bit better. Also, be aware that parking is limited!

Pupusas are the best dish in this restaurant, a few years ago I would have given this establishment a 5 star rating. Unfortunately the food price is higher and the portion sizes are much smaller. A plate of chicken breast with Nopales use to have a half a chicken breast, now it has a very thin chicken fillet. The cook is the same but ownership has change, Tila’s is a shadow of what it use to be

You pay too much for what you get. I ordered chilaquiles and when I got them they were just not good.

I was in the area looking to get lunch– if there’s an independent latina owned business, I like to lend my support as there are not many out there. It also passed my test for having an A and looking tidy. Its a basic step above cafeteria, no frills. However, its very good. The chips were pretty fresh, the salsita rojo como quemado was spicy. I ordered the steak picado burrito. Meat was tender, flavorful, not tough at all which is surprisingly more common. The beans had a slightly spice almost chorizo flavor, again muy sabroso. I asked for pico de gallo and it was served to me fresh! They also serve pupusas, caldo’s, breakfast, dinner plates. I heartily recommend Tila’s!

Bad service and stinky menudo! Chips were stale, bollio was soggy(yuck!) Two bowls of menudo, soggy bollio, a kids burrito, and three jamicas was $ 30! Wowzers! Also the menudo only comes with meat, lots of gooey pata chucks, bones, and no hominy! Another Salvadorian place cooking bad Mexican food! Lady was sweet but that’s about it! It used to be so good when I was young but times have surely changed and it think it has new owners now!

Let’s just say Tila’s «keeps it real» in all sense of the phrase. The diner is simple, a step up from a cafeteria. But the food is that delicious, sloppy kinda fatty, put you to sleep Mexican food that is just so fun to eat. I have dined here for breakfast and they serve a hearty delicious breakfast. The staff is always friendly. The prices are great. At Tila’s what you see is what you get and I think it’s a good thing. One other note: I haven’t found it to be unhygenic since I’ve been there, they have an «A» grading as well.

I remember coming here when I was 9 years old with my mother and to this day it remains my favorite Mexican breakfast spot of all time. Maybe is nostalgia or maybe us all the love that they put in their made from scratch food. When we eat there we feel like I just walked into a family member’s home. I hope to bring my kids here someday & that they love it as much as I do. Everything I’ve tried here is good but my favorite dish remains the chilaquiles & their café de olla.
