I wanted to do some Christmas shopping with my daughter in Chinatown and we decided to stop by this place for lunch. I would walk by it but never had the chance to go in but now I do. My daughter and I ordered the small beef phở. It was good but very strong on the Star Anise flavor where it made the broth taste weird. I also got the minced pork with veggie wrapped in rice paper. It was good. Lot’s of fresh veggies, the pork was full of flavor and the rice paper melted in my mouth. If I go again, I’ll order anything but the Phở.

$ 3 for banh mi I got the #5, bbq pork which was more like grilled pork, really juicy! Also got the #8, shredded pork(banh mi bi), was just as good as other banh mis we have had Sandwiches seem small, but there are a good amount of ingredients in it!

This is my favorite place for breakfast. I usually come here in the morning. If you are looking for a good phở place in Chinatown Los Angeles, this place is best for you. They provide good delicious phos with wonderful prices. On every weekend, they have good deals for Vietnamese appetizers.

The most authentic Phở I have ever tasted. And I love love love phở. Plus, the prices for portion size is awesome! If you go for lunch on a weekday, try to get there before noon because then you will have to wait at least 20 minutes before being seated. It’s super small, not good for big groups. But man, the PHO. Writing this review has got me wanting to go like right now.

Food here is a decent considering there isn’t much Vietnamese choices around here. The price is reasonable. I order banh cuon and pork chop with rice and it ok cost 13 bucks.

The phở and banh mi options are good, but nothing mind-blowing. The service is generally quick, but certainly no-frills(true to Chinatown). The only tips I would leave is 1) bring cash because they don’t take any other forms of payment and 2) remember to take a parking ticket from the machine in the garage downstairs even if the arm is up – with you to get validated by the restaurant. Parking is free downstairs with validation for 1.5 hours.

My favorite phở place in LA. I always get the regular Phở tai. The prices are amazing for the portions! I really like the broth and I personally think the phở is better than phở 87. I also got an egg roll from them but it was super dry… Just don’t take it home and eat it the next day bc when I tried reheating, it tasted terrible.

This is my go-to Phở spot in Chinatown. The quality is good, the portions are good, and the price is right. Thien Huong is located in the same plaza as Chego, Ramen Champ, Scoops, and Pok Pok Phat Thai. It’s got a pretty cramped dining room that fills up pretty quick around lunch time — we usually grab the large table outside. Haven’t really tried anything else but the phở #1. As for portion sizes, the small is a good(definitely enough to fill you up). It comes with the usual assortment of bean sprouts, lemons, basil, etc. Note* The place is cash only. A small #1 will set you back about $ 6. Def a great deal! IMHO, the best phở spot in DTLA.

This place is located in the little shopping plaza with the wing hop fung, and chego. I’ve only come during lunch time, if you get there at 12 you’ll likely have to wait in line. But it goes fast, and it’s super cheap I’ve tried 2 things here: the dac biet phở and the bun Bo hue. I like these two dishes a lot. 1) the phở– this phở hits the spot no matter what. The flavors are on point, the meat portions are on point, the fresh side leave and sprouts are on point. And the best part it’s only $ 5.50. 2) the bun bo hue– similar to the phở, this one has all the right portions. The flavors are rich and always perfectly spiced. The best thing about this thing is the huge chunks of pork blood, and the fact that they do have pigs feet in it. I’m telling you it’s generously portioned. Also very cheap prices at $ 5.50 When I get a phở craving during work hours, I take the B dash bus to Chinatown and go to this spot. It has never let me down. Cash only! Give it a try. P. s. If you go during the weekend, they have someone posted outside the shop selling all kinds of snacks and goodies.

There’s parking on the streets and there’s garage parking down stairs for free 2 hours, if you get validations. I actually never sat down and ate their food. I’m always outside purchasing the spring rolls or their snacks to go. Finally I came in to sit down and eat. The inside is small but it wasn’t bad. They pretty much let you decide which table you want to sit at. I ordered the bun bo hue. The portion is huge for a good price about $ 7 something. Not only is the portion big but it was good compared to other vietnamese places I had ordered. The portion was so much that I have to take it to go so, that I can continue enjoying the broth at home. The service was nice and quick.

Writing a review for a restaurant after finishing a meal when your starving isn’t alway the best idea. As we all know, food always taste better that it really does when you’re hungry. After sitting on a plane from NYC to LAX for about six hours and then driving another 30 minutes to our hotel, we were starving(and annoyingly undecisive) on what to eat. Being in the LA Chinatown area, we were able to narrow our choices and decided to get Vietnamese. Being new in the area and with a bit of culinary luck, we came upon the Thien Huong Vietnamese Restaurant. It is located in a small shopping plaza that serves phở, sandwiches and drinks. Since the restaurant appears to have the most customers waiting for a table during the time, I thought we made a good choice and it’s authentic. We order our favorite bowls of phở with tendon and beef, summer shrimp rolls, Vietnamese heroes and ice coffee. The portions of the phở and the size of the summer rolls were bigger in comparison to NYC servings. The prices were also reasonable for the portions served. As the saying goes, food always taste better when you’re hungry but it’s an exception for the Thien Huong Restaurant.

I came in at around 1 on a friday and was served in under 10 minutes, seems like it is family owned, great customer service!

located in a plaza full of delicious eateries such as chego, ramen champ, scoops, etc. lies Thien Huong. Thien Huong is a small vietnamese restaurant that houses around 30 people and serves amazing food. After being in Europe for two weeks, I was CRAVING phở, but I never got it because it got too hot haha. I finally got it after running the color run at dodger stadium and let me tell you, I was so happy and I was even happier that it was ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS. the meat was super tender and thin and the limes are so juicy oh, and by the way, the medium sized bowl is basically a large so REAAAAALLY think about how hungry you are before you order. In a plaza full of trendy up and coming foodie destinations like Chego, Scoops, and Ramen Champ, it’s nice to see a traditional Vietnamese offering that’s got a pretty solid menu for an affordable price. I ordered a banh mi sandwich that had the perfect sweetness to the bbq pork, and I enjoyed the fresh chewy and crispy texture of the French bread. What I always hate about banh mi sandwiches, was too much bread not enough filling. And the thin ness(is that even a word?) of the bread was perfect. The Vietnamese coffee tasted like crack, which is a good thing. Overall, a fine offering of food in one of my favorite Chinatown plazas.

This place was great! The food was soooo good and filling! The quality looked like an «A» resturant… who would’ve know, this little hole in the wall at the plaza on Broadway, right before ord would be my new fave spot in chinatown. The service was great, we got there right before 630& they still seated us, not to mention they didn’t kick us out even tho it was almost 7. The only bad thing about this is place is that it’s cash only & the time on Unilocal for closing is wrong but other than that am in love

A late review for my visit last Friday: One of the OG spots in Chinatown! You’ll definitely feel at home eating here. Walking through the Wing Hop Fung plaza(Far East Plaza), there’s no hesitation in stopping here to eat lunch. It’s a small shop, but feels cozy, especially if you come on a gloomy Cali day and order a soup dish. The man that helped us was so friendly and welcoming. I ordered my bun with shrimp, as always, while my best friend ordered a bun bo hue. The portions were generous, enough to satisfy any cravings! I got plenty of shrimp paste, mmmm. Make sure to stop by here for your meals! They have lots of great options and also sell little snacks/desserts to-go near the front of the shop(ALMONDCOOKIES!!). I plan on ordering lots of banh mi when I come back! P. S. It’s cash only, but remember to tip generously to balance them giving you generous portions(:

I challenge you to find a better lunch in the neighborhood for $ 3. Order a huge bahn-mi sandwich for lunch and you are set. They don’t skimp on the meat and it’s prepared perfectly. The bbq pork is the standard but the marinade is a little sweet for my taste. I prefer the bbq beef instead. This tiny place gets crowded quickly at lunch time and the crowd spills out into the common area. You can sit outside at the communal tables with friends if you want. It’s closed on Mondays too!

So I’ve been trying all the phở places in Chinatown, and this one is a solid contender. Like most others, it’s cash only. The restaurant is TINY however, and can get crazy packed. The service is friendly, but can be a little slow. That being said, it’s real cheap and delicious phở, definitely under 6 bucks a bowl. They also validate parking in the structure, it’s under the plaza. That being said, I prefer Phở 87 to this place. Others have said the opposite, since it really is WAY cheaper at Thien Huong, but I love speed and convenience, so the fast pace of Phở 87 and the huge dining room are more my thing. Also, Thien Huong has pretty limited hours, I think it closes by 6:30 or 7:30 every night and is closed one day of the week(can’t remember when, but I’ve tried coming here twice before I actually got to try it on my lucky third try. First I came on a day they were closed, second I came like 10 minutes after they closed one day.) So definitely a good place to come for cheap lunch if you don’t mind being a little crowded.
