Neighborhood food truck lots are such a welcome surprise. Just a few weeks ago there was one set up in Westwood by the Presbyterian church at Wilshire and Glendon and now, the group has moved to the corner of Gayley and Le Conte. On the day that I went, the trucks were — Ta Bom(Brazilian), Say Fish Taco, Foodism, and Crêpe N Around. There were a few people in the lot just after 12 when the Chicken and Rice truck came rolling in and they advertised a $ 5 all day special on everything on the truck. The great thing about these food truck lots is that they offer a chance for you to try the trucks that you’ve seen at larger events without the wait. And, they add some variety to the lunch and dinner options in the area. The only issue is that you have to get your food to go as there are no tables or chairs set up to eat there. You can find out what trucks will be there at . Happy food trucking Westwood!

This is a great idea. FINALLY this space has turned into something useful. Been empty for WAY too long. There was 4 trucks parked here this evening at 7pm and I hear at least one stays till 2am on weekends. I’ll definitely be adding this spot to my lunch rotation. With multiple trucks present, there will always be something you like!

Ok folks. You know that vacant lot on the corner of Gayley and Le conte that has been vacant since you came to the village? NOLONGER. What did they put here? FOODTRUCKS! Omigod omnomtastic food trucks. So here it is: they open at noon and the trucks roll in. They stay here and rotate until the people stop coming, about 2 am for you party animals. What’s on the menu? WHATISN’T! Today I came at 11:00pm. There was a Dogtown truck and Brazilian tabom truck. God help me I had a dog and a sandwich from each. Food quality was incredible the Brazilian chicken sandwich was cheesy and sour doughy and incredible. The hot dog was spicy and surprisingly clean, not all loaded with sauces and fats. Fresh ingredients and fried jalapeños on top I could have eaten an entire bowl of. This is what the village has been needing, a fresh injection of varying food culture beyond the late night burgers and burritos. I award it an immediate 5 stars, and best believe I’ll be having to spend some time at the gym to work off all the delicious, delectable calories a foodie like me has been craving.
