The espresso is revolting. I’m not sure if the source is upkeep and not cleaning the machine weekly or the machine is even used at all! I ordered a cappuccino this morning and it was ready in just a few seconds after I ordered and I did NOT hear the espresso machine, shots pulled or even a grinder(granted I was on my phone and wasn’t paying attention but I was standing nearby). The timing wasn’t right and my cappuccino tastes like bitter water and cost me $ 4. I threw it out. Do not go here for espresso drinks! I’m almost thinking they are using coffee instead of espresso…

I hate to be the first to give a less than stellar review for a place where everyone gives it 5*, but here it is. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese burrito, with pico on the side. I get that the rent is high, but for $ 6.50, this was one of the smallest burritos I’ve ever purchased. It tasted OK, but was not out of this world delicious. I will tell you that their salsa is amazing. When you smother the burrito in the salsa, it’s really good. Here’s my problem with the burrito. They cooked all the components ahead of time. I clearly wouldn’t have a problem with them doing that with the bacon, but they clearly cooked the eggs ahead and stuck them in the burrito. Scrambled eggs literally take less than a minute to cook. I just think if they put the effort into doing that, it would go a long way in making the burrito worth the money. I will say the coffee was good.

I am SO grateful for this place. As a student at UCLA who commutes in from the valley, the Shack has an incredibly convenient location, unlike the restaurants in Westwood where it’s impossible to find parking. There are no breakfast burritos even offered in Westwood or on the UCLA campus(which is absurd). So, I stop by here on my way to school many mornings out of the week. Moreover, the food is so good. I usually get a breakfast burrito(egg, cheese, avocado, and potato hash) and a cup of coffee. The Shack has anything you might want, breakfast, lunch, salads, smoothies, teas, coffee, and a stocked condiment bar. Finally, the staff is what makes this place so great. Mario, Israel, Freddie, and Santiago are so friendly, and make the Shack the pleasant and relaxing experience that it is. I recommend this spot without reservation!

The Shack is where you want to be when in the mood for a sandwich. With a great variety of drinks to supplement their great food, this is an amazing place for lunch on the run. They can complete an order in about 5 minutes usually, if not less. Love this place.

Are you kidding me right now?! I don’t know who is cooking in the back of the shack but they are killing it! This little nondescript«shack» is tucked away behind the Bel Air bar and grill and shares space with a Chevron gas station. For a small place it has a good selection of waters, teas, sodas, gum, and traditional deli food. The owners are making good use of the real estate. I ordered the gazpacho and it was amazing. So amazing I had to write this review within moments of finishing. So go on Shack, you guys are on point!

Just stopped by here on a whim as my husband and I were passing through on our way back home to ventura and wow what an awesome little place this is. Breakfast burrito with bacon egg cheese and pico was amazing. Tortilla was excellent and fresh, bacon was thick and extra crispy and it came with avo. The salsa was super spicy and delicious and tasted freshly made. Got an espresso and that was great too. Will definitely be coming back.

This is a cool spot hidden away in a corner by the Chevron station in Bel Air. I had the shrimp for $ 7. There were other offerings also, e.g., chicken salad, tuna salad, variety of coffee drinks.

The customer service is great!!! I do have to comment on their recent price increase, Sandwiches and burritos went from $ 6 to $ 10. Pretty pricey if you ask me, I’d rather make the extra 5min drive to Chipotle or Baja Fresh. Sorry you just lost a customer!!! You should mention this to the manager.

A couple months ago I started a rotation at a new hospital and needed to leave home early to make it to clinic on time. There was no time to prepare breakfast. I lamented that I would probably be unable to find a place with great coffee, great breakfast options, fast yet good service, and decent prices along my path to work. During my first week I pulled into a gas station near where I live and while pumping I noticed this gem. I rarely write Unilocal reviews but I feel bad that these guys have so few despite how great they are so here goes. I usually get a breakfast burrito and they have several kinds. If you get bacon in yours they don’t go cheap; you get a lot of bacon. If you get eggs in your burrito then you’ll get a good amount of eggs. Their salsa is tasty. It’s all around great food. They also have bagels, oatmeal, pastries of many types, and snacks on the racks(chips, protein bars, granola bars). Their coffee is also really good. I’m no snob(after all, I drink hospital coffee) but I definitely have the palate for good coffee, having been drinking it for a long time and always seeking out good flavors and perfect brewing techniques. This place has legit coffee. I’ve never had trouble finding parking. I’ve only visited this place in the mornings so I don’t know how it’s like at other times. I highly recommend it.

Delicious sandwiches, salads, and breakfast-to-go, plus a great wine/beer/soda refrigerated section. If you’re on the 405 and want something delicious and fast, hop off at Moraga(NB) or Getty/Sunset(SB). If you’re local, you should check it out!(It shares a parking lot with a Chevron station, but they are not affiliated as far as I know.)

As a mother of two school aged children I can tell you that packing lunches gets old pretty quick. Lucky for us we discovered the Shack and when I am in a time crunch that’s where we head. They have delicious freshly made sandwiches and salads. If we’re really running late mom can grab a quick cup of coffee and the children have their choice of muffins or croissants for breakfast. The fellows who work there are friendly, efficient and polite. We are truly lucky to have discovered this little gem which more than once has made feeding my little ones a little bit easier. Thank you!

Quick, convenient small coffee shop offering good food with great service. If you are looking for a quick daily fix of coffee or a bite to eat, try The Shack by the Chevron gas station.
