Had the best cup of coffee, that I haven’t had in a while. Super friendly and informative staff, I’ll be returning soon to try their sandwiches.

I ordered for delivery. 1 lentil soup(the chef said it was vegetarian), 1 omelet, and 1 salad. The salad was completely wrong. They sent me another one. There was no bread with the omelet and i asked him to send bread, he said ok. 1 hour later, I decided to eat my «vegetarian» soup. Lo’ and Behold — there was PORK in it. I called to complain. The guy said they didn’t have lentil soup since yesterday. These guys gave me a soup from yesterday. WOW. I AMDISGUSTEDBYTHISESTABLISHMENT. SHAMEONYOU. LEAVEDOWNTOWNLA.

Came here for lunch with my coworkers and they don’t have much of what’s on the menu… I tried ordering three different sandwiches before finally getting a salad they actually had. They also only had 2 soups out of the entire list they have up on the menu. Are they closing soon or something?

What a crappy place this is in downtown. The server said not one word besides the price of the green tea. No response even after a thank you. And the tea, the tea! It turns out to be cheap Lipton green tea. Unbelievable. Avoid. There are a plethora of great spots around here. Google and avoid this hellish place.

Great sandwich. Turkey bacon club was bomb. Friendly helpful staff. Cool outside patio.

Horrible. Stay away! Not only were they out of multiple, simplistic food items that were clearly on their extremely limited menu, and there was a 20 minute wait for food when I was the only customer there– but it was also way hotter inside than it was outside — AND completely overpriced!

Been meaning to try this place a few times. Finally went there for lunch on a Friday at 12:30 p.m., the place was empty. That should have been a clue. The interior is cluttered and, while not dirty, just doesn’t give off a very clean vibe. Service was not great, but I never hold that against a restaurant, if the food is good that’s all I care about. However, the food is not good. I ordered the Korean BBQ sandwich and it is literally inedible. I can usually power through anything, but I’ve been trying to force myself to eat it for the past 15 minutes and I am barely ¼ of the way through it. It has the vague taste of spoiled meat and bad cheese, not appetizing whatsoever. For a $ 10 sandwich, it is unacceptable. I might go back if someone can recommend something they do well at this place, but there’s plenty of better sandwich shops in this town, I wouldn’t waste your time at this one.

The good news is that the people here are very friendly. I think that new management took over a while back, and it just hasn’t been the same. I can’t get an order made correctly for the life of me. I don’t say anything when that happens because, although I’m happy to wait for fresh food, I can’t afford to take the time to wait another 10 — 15 minutes for a re-make on a to-go order. Today, I ordered a salad: mixed greens, black beans, chick peas, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, and dressing on the side. What I got was romaine, kidney beans, tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, and it is soaked in dressing. Don’t get me wrong; the salad it good(despite having too much dressing), but it’s not at all what I ordered. Also, they close at random times some days; I wish that their hours were consistent(although it will probably be a long time before I try back). Today, I saw a fly walking around on one of the English muffin egg sandwiches in the display area(that’s pretty gross; thank goodness I wasn’t ordering that, but it made me wonder whether flies are landing all over the salad stuff). Finally, the soups have far too much salt. Again, very nice people, and the food, for the most part is pretty good even if it’s not what I ordered. I would have given this place a 2.5, but since that’s not possible, I rounded down to 2 stars just because my order has been wrong over the last several attempts, and this, frankly, should not happen so frequently.

I’d give it zero stars if I could. The girl behind the counter is horrible. I hate people who don’t look when they hand you something. Get someone else to work there. Won’t ever come back.

Had the soy chorizo Banh mi. Was not the best Banh mi I’ve had and the lady forgot to give me my sweet potato fries that were indicated as part of it on the menu. But I’m not willing to give up just yet. Will edit the review and rating once I try it again.

Got the pesto today and payed over $ 10 for it and it had dark fatty meat not the usual Breast meat! Had not ate here since the prices went crazy UP and decided to give it another try and ugh the sandwich was NOT what I used to have and definitely NOT anywhere near what I used to pay! I also couldn’t believe how much they charged me for a plain bagel with avocado… You DON’T get what you pay for here! Bye!

Had bookmarked this place for a while but didn’t have a chance to go for lunch until today: showed up around 1:15pm — no line and no wait. I ordered the lemongrass banh mi: so delicious! The bread is crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside. The pickles vegetables were nice and crunchy — and the pork — oh wow… The pork! It melts in your mouth! Best part of the sandwich was the spicy sauce… About $ 8 bucks — which is expected in downtown. For traditional banh mi at a fraction of the price you can take the bus over to Chinatown — I can’t make it out there during my lunch since it takes a while via the DASH! Service is kind and friendly — I’ll return for the acai bowl and fresh juices! Oh — and of course — another banh mi!

The reason why I like this place is simple. Great food, great environment, and positive, relaxing and uplifting music. Not only that, but also the fact that I work here … I would like to give you a great exportable for you and your friends. Come by soon and enjoy a great sandwich! Just don’t park in the alley… you may get a ticket. Freddy R.

I was excited to try this place even though it was a walk from my office. Looked mom and pop and I always like to support these businesses especially since they always hustle and really care about their product and customers. Not the case here. My salad was missing avocado, the best ingredient in the entire salad! Was over dressed and warm. Also, the chicken tasted processed and salty like it was from a lunchable. Rest of veggies seemed fresh but not exceedingly so. My major gripe was that they changed their prices yet failed to update their menu. So when I asked the cashier about it he said there was no problem and that I should remember there is tax. Duh. Thank you, Captain Obvious. So much attitude. Then he said I should complain to the manager or owner. I said it was fine since I don’t care about the extra dollar, but that they should update their menus if they changed the price. Ditzy manager overheard and came over and explained the prices changed. I said that’s fine but the menu didn’t reflect it. She said it wasn’t reflected on the inside menu yet and went outside to check the outside menu. When she came back in she didn’t say anything about it. Probably because the outside menu did not reflect this change either! Owner rolled his eyes and seemed totally uninterested and preoccupied with a catering order. Ditzy manager half-heatedly said sorry while walking away. Um ok. Nice customer service. Who cares about $ 1 but a normal place would have offered the advertised price. Not going back. There are too many other places to go closer to my office that costs the same if not a nominal amount more for better quality food. This place had no heart and no soul.

Okay so I have been here a couple of times now, and I feel like it is necessary to change my review based on the inconsistency of the food I order. It is always the same guy that makes my order. You would assume he would make the food the same but every time I ordered the same item it comes out differently! I have only ordered 3 things from here: The Simple, Vegetarian Chorizo Burrito, and yogurt parfaits. The Simple is a poached egg with pesto sauce and cheddar cheese. The last time I ordered The Simple there was no pesto sauce in it! The egg was also more fried than poached. I would have gone back to complain but I couldn’t waste more of my time there. I also got some apple sauce to the side; am I suppose to get the apple sauce on the side? Where was that this the last couple of times I ordered it? The last TWO times I got the vegetarian chorizo burrito they didn’t put in my avocado! If they ran out, at least tell me so I don’t order it! Lastly, the yogurt parfaits are not very good. The granola taste old and chewy, the fruits are not very fresh, and the yogurt also tasted a bit sour. Sorry The Sandwich Bar, I really liked you the first couple of times I went. But the more I went, the more I understand the bad reviews you received. Until you can get orders right, I will be taking my breakfast needs to Arda’s.

Came here before getting my hair done at the salon across the street. I really wanted a bagel but saw that there were gnats on all the bakery foods in the glass window! Disgusted, I didn’t get a bagel. I ordered a sandwich but I was also iffy about that too since it just seems like a dirty place ever since I saw those gnats.

Service is so spotty and unreliable that I WANTTOSCREAM! There, I feel better. Some days they have delivery, some days not. Some days they will pick up the phone, some days not. Some days they will make you hold and they forget about you — makes me want to SCREAM! When they do, they will forget to put chicken on 4 separate salads. Oddly, this has happened a couple times which they totally screwed up our lunches. We all order the same salads but somehow it has different ingredients most of the time. Soups are still good, hence the 2 stars. But seriously you need to get your service together.

I’ve been here twice and I am pretty impressed. They have a fairly large menu with lots of unique sandwiches/breakfast items that have a distinctive Korean flair. The negative reviews seem focused on delivery and take out issues. I found them to be efficient and tasty for a rushed lunch, plus it’s always nice to have something a little different than the standard turkey sandwich or the build-your-own burrito joints that seem to saturate the financial district(and surrounding blocks) of DTLA.
