Went here for my 21st. Music was too loud. Drink was weak and bartender wasn’t friendly at all, was fast though. No one said happy birthday ehh. Never saw a drink menu? Expensive so i really won’t go back and ill make sure no one i know does either to spare them.

Great bands in a cozy music room with a full bar and dinner menu. A good place to support music, relax have a drink and be inspired at the same time. A good mix of local and touring acts. Star musicians perform here a times with side projects or sitting-in with other bands.

Came to this bar and the bouncer thought that I was not 21. Just because I gained some weight. Totally messed up. Ended up at another bar down the block which ended up being a great night. Won’t be back here anytime soon.

Good drinks, chill atmosphere, good new music and an interesting crowd. I love coming here when I can!

We came to a friend’s gig here. I’ve heard of the Mint as one of the première, small music venues. The acoustics and atmosphere are five stars. The sight line from any table is fantastic, unobstructed. Unfortunately the food and service are 1 – 2 stars. The fries were limp and greasy. We had to flag down the waitress for orders, silverware, etc…, and there were less than ten customers in the venue. I was so disappointed in the food and service that we left after our friend’s set to have dinner elsewhere. Because the acoustics and ambiance are so amazing, I’ve rounded up the rating to four stars. IF the food and service were better, I’d come to the Mint more frequently, and not only when I have friends playing a gig.

This place is always busy and you have to wait long to be seated. But they do have a great selections of beers. The staff is always friendly. The place is cozy and they have a small patio during the summer too. They don’t have too many options on their food and snack menu, but their food was good. So not a place to have dinner, but a great bar to try different kinds of beers.

MUSICIANS: This place is terrible to play at. I’ve played here several times and it’s almost impossible to get paid. You have to bring in a guarantee to make anything. I think the first $ 300 goes to pay the staff: door guy, sound man, etc. Nice… because the guy guarding the backdoor has really put in the time in his job that any musician has… even crappy musicians.

came with family to see a band they love a and i have to say i was impressed. Nice sized place not too big and not to small. Very intimate which i love and the live music is amazing. This must be a very popular place because the line was long to get in. The only thing is be prepared to stand if u don’t get there earlier because all of the tables will be packed(which required a 2 drink minimum per person) and the bar area is packed as well. the only thing that was crazy to be was one glass of white wine was 9 – 14 dollars smh insane. other that that i can see myself coming back. also a nice date place seen lots of couples out or even first time dates. Vibe and atmosphere is great and people were very nice

Nice lil venue. I wish 3am would’ve performed longer. They only had an hour set but since they hadn’t set up it was more like 39 min.

Came here on a date with my husband to see a friend perform. We got there early and were served right away, although we were super early. No need to get there as soon as they open when you have table reservations. Food: I ordered Taquitos and the Husband ordered Al’s chicken sandwich which comes with garlic fries. The Taquitos were not that greats & were covered in nacho cheese, no bueno. My husband said the sandwich tasted like a salad with bread because there was a thin slice of chicken and lots of lettuce. Garlic fries were great! Overall a great music experience and atmosphere but don’t go for food unless you get garlic fries.

Nice place to listen to music. I came for a particular event and it’s a decent size. Has an underground, basement type feel. Bartender were good. Drinks decent, price… eh it’s LA. I’ve been here before with a friend and the place usually has a good crowd.

The Mint has an underground divey feel to it — very comfortable spot for music-lovers. Our large group came here to watch a live jazz band and we were absolutely wow’d at their caliber. Very talented group and the crowd was loving it! Cheap drinks, though my moscow mule was not very good(maybe the ginger beer?). And they do offer food too… garlic fries were a hit!

The only thing I hate about this place is in order to get in there you have to pay to see one of the bands performing that night. That is not my complaint, obviously. My complaint is, they should not allow a-holes to carry on loud conversations, completely disrespecting the performer and the fans that went to see the performer play. While purchasing tickets, they should warn their customers that they will be kicked out if they do so. If you’re bored with what you’re hearing, then get the F out, you rude f-ed up lame excuses for human beings! Why the F do so many a-holes pay a lot of money just to yell in each others ears and strain to listen to each other, when they can go many other places and do the same without having to yell and strain, and more importantly, without having to ruin other paying customers enjoyment? Yelling and straining to hear in no way is appealing to me. Let alone disrespecting and ruining other paying customers enjoyment in the process of their completely rude and discourteous idocity. You can easily reserve a table here as long as you contact them in time, before all tables are reserved. They have a two item minimun, and if you order dinner, that counts as your two items, which it should. The prices aren’t that bad, and the portions are pretty big for the dinners. The few items I’ve had there have been very good.

Came here to see The Movement this past weekend. I had no idea that this little gem was going to impress me so much. Great sound and very attentive staff! This place is definitely on my radar now and I can’t wait to see another show there! Parking is very easy BTW.

Came here for Nerd Nite. Had a bad experience with Nerd Nite itself, but this review is for The Mint which I also had a poor experience with. Very dark inside. Understaffed. Management didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Bartender was very sweet though. The crowd is a lot older(30s/40s), which isn’t bad but it might not be the most exciting place for someone in their 20s.

The Mint is a great place to enjoy live music. You never know who might appear on any given night! Not only are the people who run The Mint wonderful, the drinks aren’t expensive and musicians tell me the sound system is good. In addition to this, the food is excellent. The Mint is a great place to bring a group of friends. Parking is relatively easy and the crowd is pretty easy going. Highly recommend. — Donna Balancia

Came here for nerd nite and oh my gosh. Doors don’t open at 7, don’t expect to get in until 7:45 even if you’re like 10th in line because they only have 2 waitresses so they’d rather have you stand outside in the rain instead of sit inside waiting for your server. So then we got in and ordered beer and fries, the bartenders were very kind so that’s where the first star in my review comes from. The second star is for cleanliness. Anyways, the talks on this night were pretty bad. Didn’t even stay for the third one. I don’t think it was worth the $ 10 at all. I’m sure that not every talk will be bad, but you should probably not buy your tickets until the descriptions of all the talks come out. Also the crowd was pretty old(late 30’s), and there were some rude people too who scared me and I guess I was expecting something more intellectually stimulating but overall it was so lame.

Nice quiet place on the outskirts of Hollywood. Came to see a friends band play here. Got there early to catch the opening performers, but I guess they had a late start, because the band we came to see started over an hour late. I only had drinks there and they have a small menu of food and provide late service. Tables do require a minimum item per person and open sitting at the bar. The only problem can be all the people standing in front of you. Parking can be a problem. We found a open space near by, but did not see parking lots around the area.

The Mint is one of my favorite music venues. You can buy tickets in advance online, and I believe you can get a presale discount and an additional $ 1 off by posting your purchase via social media. The food is very good too. I usually get the chicken taquitos though, and a drink, or a dessert if I want or have the opportunity to sit at a table. Small price to pay. The seating is dependent on the drawing capacity of the performers. If it’s a popular act, the only seating is in permanent booths along the walls, which have to be reserved in advance. The floor tables are cleared and the floor becomes standing room only. If it’s light to moderate attendance, there are about 10 floor tables that may be reserved or taken on a first come, first served basis. These are meant for customers ordering a minimum two drinks per set or ordering food. Hence my mention of food and drink. The waitresses are pretty nice; one kept caressing my shoulder every time she went by, and I’ll never be the same again. Cameras are generally allowed, as long as it’s not disruptive. I was once reminded that video was not allowed, even though I wasn’t shooting video. I just nodded, I was in compliance. I’ve seen all kinds of music genres represented here recently. Billy Cobham band, Anna Nalick, Katie Cole, Free Dominguez, Alexz Johnson, Amy LaVere, Lera Lynn, Misty Boyce… the list goes on. Great, unforgettable shows. Mostly they all hang out after their sets to say hello, and sign stuff at the merchandise table. Bottom line, from food to talent to relaxed atmosphere, it’s hard not to like anything about the venue.

Went here last night for the Nick Thomas /My Body Sings Electric /Yellowbird Mantra /The Heirs /Tarot School show. Came here specifically for Nick Thomas(such a nice guy!!), but the other acts were amazing as well! I was expecting there to be more seating, but wasn’t too picky about it. I thought the sound throughout the room was perfect. The staff was also very friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening.
