Been going here since they opened. Good beer, good food, run by good people. Some of the coolest beers on draft and even more fun stuff in bottles. I suggest investing in a HPB growler and filling that bad boy up as much as possible. Love this place.

Great atmosphere, amazing food and even better beers. The team maintains a well curated yet regularly changing beer list with expert service that can recommend the perfect brew for your palate and mood. Even if you aren’t hungry, have the fried polenta. Then maybe have another order of it.

I came here with three other people on Saturday night. The place was pretty crowded but after about three minutes two tables opened up and we sat down no problem. There are no waitresses so you have to order at the bar, which is kind of a hassle but not a big deal. The beer selection was awesome! I tried two new beer that I loved!!! We got food as well — started with the fried pickles; they were great EXCEPT there were also fried jalepeños mixed in, and the pickle to jalepeño ratio was very uneven with way more jalepeños than pickles. This was an unexpected and not pleasant surprise. I split the meatloaf burger with my boyfriend, it was seriously incredible. I don’t usually love meatloaf but this sandwhich was great. The chips were good too, but the portion was pretty small. We also had friend polenta which was good too. The thing that knocks the place down to four stars was the very off putting smell right as I walked in. It was present throughout the whole bar. However, the bathrooms were very nice and clean !

Came here after seeing the amazing old sign from York Blvd. Tasty Highland Park Brewing beers, great food, good prices. Awesome neighborhood spot! Fried pickles are always great.

Killer spot for a drink and dinner. They’ve also got an incredibly addictive bar game in the back. Not sure what’s it’s called but it’s a fantastic way to prove you’re a better person than your drinking buddy. The food is worth noting. I didn’t expect much since it’s more of a bar setting but I fools myself trying far more items on the menu then planner. This is a funny side note. The last 2 times I got a parking spot right in front. They couldn’t have planned it but I take that as a good sign. Stoked on this spot.

Born and raised in Highland Park, I’ve seen this place go through a lot. Finally got to try the place out and I have to say it’s so very hip. Plenty of tables and I like the bar set up. The lighting inside is pretty cool too, tried 7 – 5 and Beer Spaceship. My mouth went up in space with all the delicious beer flavors. Definitely going to be recommending to others. It has what I want in a bar: friendly service, good mood, good music, food, oh and of course good beer. Glad to have a good brewery so close to home.

From the outside, it looks like a weird Mexican strip club. But once you step in, you actually feel like you’re in a cross between a classic, dimly-lit Mexican restaurant and a microbrewery tasting room… and a weird Mexican strip club. I believe most(or all) of their beers come from Highland Park Brewery(which is associated with this place, to my understanding). There are some surprisingly unique options, unlike many microbreweries these days. Food was pretty good. Nothing epic, but some decent variety to go with your beers. Service was quite good. We sat at the bar for a couple hours and all the bartenders were laid back and friendly the entire time. None of the«we’re so hip and edgy so whatever deal with it”-vibe you get from so many places these days. I’m not so sure that Highland Park’s long-underway foodie-mecca transformation is complete yet, but if more places like Hermosillo open up, I can see it happening in a few more years.

I love the Hermo! Such a great beer selection. Unlike a lot of breweries they have an awesome revolving beer selection. Don’t get disheartened if one of your favorite beers leaves– you’ll probably see it on the beer list again soon. This place is a hidden gem, the only reason I am not giving it full stars is because I do not want this spot to get blown up. The fired pickles are top notch. The 1Up is to die. Also, always a friendly staff!

Been here three times now and never had a bad beer or eats. Superb roasted brussels sprouts, killler grilled cheese, polenta bites, you name it. Strong IPAs and a nice mix of ales, saison, and session beers, including a tasty house brew. And the best punk rock soundtrack in LA! Can’t wait to get back…
Beer. If you like West Coast Craft, this is the place. I have made beer for 20 plus years(won first place in the pale ale/bitter category in Canada), been to the American brewers festival in Portland OR several times(the mecca for Craft beer) sampled numerous pints of CAMRA beer in the UK and LOVE West Coast style brewing. I was of the opinion that the Best IPA in California(and the completion is stiff) was Angeleno IPA at Angel City in Downtown LA, But have now changed my mind after tasting the IPAs at HPB. Outstanding. Fresh, flowery, perfectly balanced. Great vibe and knowledgeable staff. Go there. Drink. Be happy. S

My review is for beer only. I’m aware that they serve food and it all looks incredible, but I got stuffed on beer alone. I was actually viewing the food menu before I looked up at the projector screen trying to decided on what to drink. Highland Park Brewery is getting the recognition for the wild ales and IPA’s they are brewing. I’m not a local, but I keep up with their bottle releases and show up on time for pick ups. Not sure if you’ll like a specific brew? Start off with two 4 ounce tasters of your choice.

Definitely a neighborhood favorite! Completely unpretentious spot on the bustling York Blvd. where my hubby can get his IPA fix and I get to eat off of their yummy menu! Here’s what we’ve ordered: (Beer): Hello LA, Refresh — definitely a fave! There are a couple others my husband has tried, so I can’t really include those since I wouldn’t know. (Food): Crispy Brussel Sprouts(one of my faves in town), Banh Mi Sliders(super awesome), Pork Belly Tacos(also super awesome), Fried Chicken Sandwich(hit or miss, but overall tasty), Parmesan Polenta Bites(meh) We’ve always gone around dinner-time, so we’ve been lucky enough to sit at booths. Service is knowledgable, nice and quick! They operate as the Highland Park Brewery too, so there’s merch available like t-shirts, growlers, etc. Love this place — til next time, Hermosillo!

This beer and wine bar up in Highland Park is probably one of the few reasons I’d drive out there, if not for friends(and when friends move to Highland Park, this is usually the first place I suggest we go). I’ve seen it’s popularity boom in the time that I’ve been coming here, but I still end up having a great time. I vastly prefer it on weekdays when it’s not overrun by the kids from Occidental, it’s vibe to me is more of a conversation-inducer than a party-inducer. The available beers are projected on to the wall, which to me always seemed like a clever way to avoid rewriting the menu on a large scale every day. It’s hard to recommend what to order since they’re always rotating new beers in and out. I usually kick back with a few and play the hoop game in back if I’m here with friends. In all my times coming here, I still haven’t sampled the food, though I will be doing so on my next trip.

Love this local hang for the Highland Park area. Great beer selection(lots brewed in house!) and delicious snacks with plenty of booth, table, and bar space(s) to relax with friends. Hermosillo is home to Highland Park Brewery which rotates taps(alongside other local favs) and brews in the back room. Great spot that local home brewers use for taste nights. Their menu comprises great beer and wine snack-style pairings. Some of my favorites include the fish sandwich, pork belly tacos, and absolutely do NOT skip out on the avocado toast. My favorite decorative touch is the beer list projected on the wall with the old school overhead projector. Also be sure to play a few games of the ring game located at the back of the bar next to the bathrooms. There’s a small parking lot to the right of Hermosillo(~10 spots) and other than that parking is generally pretty easy to find within a 2 minute walking radius.

Ok, I had a really great experience here. I didn’t know what to expect. I came for the HPB beers but I left thinking about the food. The polenta bites were awesome. They were different from any other appetizer similar places offer. Then I got the grilled cheese and that was also awesome. I’m newly vegetarian so it’s really cool to be highly satisfied by vegetarian dishes. They also had one of the best playlists I’ve heard at a restaurant. Nirvana, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Danzig… Bravo. As for the beer… The Highland Park beers are a nice mix and their guest taps are definitely good. What I wish I had noticed sooner is the bottle selection, which included at least two Goose Island Bourbon County beers. The Hermasillo is definitely a great spot and I hope to return soon.

Love this place. Parking: free parking in the neighborhood in the back, just check street signs. Food and drinks: amazing beer on tap. We tried the Nebraska and a sour beer. It was really good! We ordered the polenta bites, Brussels sprouts and fried pickles. This place is really chill and the music isn’t too loud so you can still talk to people. They have shuffle board and games on the side. Highly recommend this place!

First time here. Lunch with a friend :) THEAMBIANCE: Located on York Blvd. Street Parking and small parking lot. You walk in and see wood and burgundy. All that was missing was the western saloon doors. We were the only patrons in around 1:30 pm. There are some booths on the left and the rest is tables and bar seating on your right. THEFOOD: The menu was one-sided. I read on Unilocal«tapas» but not at all. I have to say that nothing on the menu really stood out for me. We tried the fried pickles app to start and it also comes with fried jalapeños. I’m not into pickles but I did enjoy the jalapeños. We got a semi-ranch semi-buttermilk kind of dipping sauce. For my lunch entrée I got the pork belly tacos(3) and my friend tried the fried chicken sandwich. The tacos were good. They come with a glob of guacamole, which was a surprise for me; I didn’t know until I tasted it. I would give the tacos 3 stars. I am comparing them to the pork belly tacos I had at The Black Hog in Silverlake, which were out of this world 5 stars+. My lunch dining experience was okay. I would give the Hermosillo another shot in the future. THETIPS: Not a tapas place.
