I don’t believe in putting a store down under which calls for 2 star rating, which is easier to fix than a 1 star, which is well deserved.
The moment me and family walked in, we saw an employee interacting with what seemed like a her friend. I get it, it’s cool but the moment we made eye contact, she seemed uninterested in interacting with us, let alone acknowledging us. At this point I was still understanding but once her friend left, she sat at her desk for a bit before she started to look at us blankly while we were browsing through futon frames… at the same still making eye contact with her. After an awkward moment of silence she finally says hi but didn’t offer her assistance. Instead she picks up the phone and starts dialing and initiates another conversation.
She honestly didn’t seem like she wanted to help us out at all.
Enough with the customer service, the futon frames and couch sets we saw before we decided to leave, we’re very shoddy and creaky. The futon mattresses were lumpy. The joints felt weak and shakey. Maybe there was a better upgrade in both frame sets and matresses, but we wouldn’t know since no one took the time to explain anything.
And the prices are ridiculous!!! Everything we interacted with, felt like «made in china» quality. I have better experiences with items that were actually made in china than all the products in this store. Maybe we did something wrong. Maybe the items needed some adjusting. But again… me and my family wouldn’t know since no one took the time to explain anything. Hopefully this review will shed some light on the customer service and it gets resolved. In the mean time, we’re off to a better store.

Only place I’d get nonallergenic stuffs unless I grew them myself on my own cotton/​wool/​cashmere farm. I know, dream on, I have no farm. So, I purchase from Futon Shop. Thank you Futon Shop!

We spent nearly 1800.00 on a futon at the Futon shop for our guest room. Being from the East Coast originally, having rented small apts. and appreciating the value of a futon I can say that I have spent less than half that and had better results.
If you are physically prepared to wrangle a couple hundred pounds of mattress and really poor instructions (both face to face upon delivery as well as poorly illustrated instructions in hand also at time of delivery) good for you.
Once open — if you can get it open — without having them come back a few times to show you how — the mattress is fabulous. Comfortable, inviting, a great guest bed. I personally do not care about all that organic stuff. I think it is completely over rated.
However, having owned as I said, 100% cotton futon mattresses in the past, I can say that this was an extremely dissapointing experience. Right down to the persons in the showroom, when I walked in to express my discontent with the product, or calling to say that I was unhappy with the product —- I felt I was made to feel that I just didnt «get it». What happened to the customer is always right? I was simply asking for a secondary demonstration of how to open the thing… It should not take our two guests, my husband and myself — FOUR PEOPLE — to open this bed.
Going forward — to the staff there — EDUCATE your customers to the point that they can show you that they understand how to work this bed. And do not even think twice about requesting me $ 35 or $ 25 to have a couple of guys from your shop show up to show me how to work this and correct it and then try to charge me for it. Just saying.
