Was a little disappointed at the lack of variety tonight. Two seafood, two meat based, one taco and one soul food truck. Oh and the Hawaiian Shave Ice truck which didn’t get much attention as it got colder into the evening. The trucks looked like they had great dishes and I heard a lot of great things from other diners. Unfortunately, we tried the soul food truck. The«fried chicken» was chicken wings, the shrimp po boy was dry and brutally burnt my mouth on first bite. The good part, the church who allows these trucks to be on their property is very nice and there are tables and chairs set up in the middle of the trucks and restrooms in the church. It’s a nice environment and parking is available behind the church. Sweet! I’ll be back next week to check out a new round of trucks.

This is a nice, low key event in Westwood that’s perfect for a family outing, a date or even just a quick dinner on the go. The small lot of Westwood Presbyterian Church was filled with approximately 8 trucks including a dessert truck. Tonight, the lineup was Say Taco, Sista Soul Food, Currywurst, Phantom Gourmet, A Rockin Ice, Charbroiler on Fire and another truck that served barbecue, as well as one that offered burgers and pork belly sliders. The trucks rotate week to week. A few tables and chairs were neatly arranged in the middle of the lot and a ballon artist was there, along with a representative from the new iPic dine-in theater a couple of doors down. If you live in Westwood, this is a great local event where you can access popular LA food tucks and maybe even try a few new ones. Happy trucking and happy eating!
