I’m extremely disappointed with the staff and their customer service. Last week our department made a reservation for our staff holiday lunch. We were told everything was ok on several occasions and we even called the day before AGAIN to make sure our reservation was ok. We didn’t get notification until the day of our event that they had a restaurant buy out. We had to cancel our reservation and reschedule. This is absolutely unacceptable in my book. They are lucky they are the ONLY restaurant on campus and I will definitely not be thinking about this place next year for our holiday staff lunch. UPDATE: 12÷15÷15 — another example of the poor staffing and apparently organization of their office. We often make several reservations for faculty interviews one of which was for yesterday. We always send in our req’s early so that our faculty don’t have to worry about payment. This is now the SECOND time they call saying they don’t have a form of payment which is faxed/emailed to them days in advance. There needs to be some serious changes with regards to staff.

Best restaurant on campus. Wait, it’s the only restaurant on campus. Food is OK and commensurate with the price point, for which I grant three stars. The fourth star comes from a blend of good service, their excellent bar and some semblance of USC pride.

I really want to give the EFC five stars. I’ve been meaning to give this place a review – They have renovated the place since its dark and dreary look in the past, and given it a nice modern touch and added succulents for a touch of greenery. Also, it is nice that the dining room is no longer«membership» only or required to be accompanied by a member. Now, any staff or faculty can dine here, students may as well(if accompanied by the aforementioned). As others have stated, no scrubs/white coats allowed. Private rooms so far are $ 250+ to book. Staff 5* — The staff is amazing, particularly Angel who takes great care of me when I am here. Ambience & Cleanliness 5* — Definitely loving the new look, place is clean and kept well. Food 4* — This is where I dock. We went to EFC shortly after the remodel, we tried almost all the appetizers available in the evening – not a fan. We did come during a lunch visit and fell in love with the shrimp caesar salad and the fried chicken sandwich with fresh fried potato chips – the sandwich is still one of my faves, but the caesar salad has been changed. It is now what I would call… a vinaigrette salad playing imposter to a caesar – it still has croutons and parmesan cheese on top, but the dressing is oily/sour and not my favorite. I expect a caesar to be a real caesar. what we had went EFC first opened(yes, I’m heartbroken, can’t you tell?). My coworker did get the club sandwich last week and I have found a new love – it is made with pork belly instead of bacon, which has the fat perfectly rendered and not as salty as regular bacon, and they also use arugula(I think) instead of lettuce which gives it a completely different flavor. Absolutely amazing! So. they lost a star because I despise the new-new caesar salad. Sorry folks, caesar is supposed to be salty with a nice white paste, not glossy and sour-smelling vinaigrette. Overall, I really like this place, and will continue to go for the club and chicken sandwich alone.

For being the ONLY restaurant on campus… it get’s 4 stars. The EFC has been redone recently and is a huge improvement to what it once was. Let’s no speak of those days. The interior is very warm and inviting, décor is modern a light. The location, however, is killing it slowly. It’s tucked away between a parking structure and the Seaver resident hall, marked only by a single awning. The service is top notch. Very attentive and friendly. Everything I’ve had from the menu has been cooked perfectly and tastes great, only the menu is very limited. A few salad options and a handful of entrees. No appetizers, but they do offer dessert and a soup of the day. The bar area is nicely redone, the bartender is great. He can concoct a variety of drinks to suit your taste. They have a flat screen and the best part is, they have a happy(lounge) hour that’s great for catching«that game» when you get off work. It’s only open to Faculty(obviously) and Staff. Students must be an invited guest and there are no lab coats or scrubs allowed. They also have a few larger private rooms that can be reserved.
