The Cut By

I’ve had my hair cut a few times from these guys, and although they do quality work, the price and attitude makes me not recommend it. Even though they have a good appointment system it might as well be all walk in’s since they get priority anyways. I ended up just leaving after waiting 40 minutes this last time. For a hair cut that’s $ 60 dollars (for men’s hair no less) I would expect better. The cuts are decent, but not really anything worth that much, more like a $ 30 dollar cut.
Overall it’s more about price for quality, if you have money to burn, the straight razor shave is nice, but not necessary.

Been going to Angel since his days at the Proper Barbershop. Very attentive, precise, and all around chill guy. Recommend him for sure.

The Cut By performs the best haircuts in the land (in the country??), hands down. I’ve been seeing Wade and Collin for a couples years and tremble at the thought of going to another barbershop. The vibe is great, the barbers are a good hang and they play great music.
Oh, and they have Tecate and bourbon :-)

This place is amazing, I always leave happy and well cut. Joan and the atmosphere makes this place the best place to get a cut.

So I’ve lived in LA for about a year and change now, I went to 2 other barbers before I found my boy Jason who is a mastermind with the clippers and I’ve never left since. The ambiance is very New York style loft-​ish with exposed brick and wooden beams. Along with the trendy décor Jason throws on the jams on the old school speaker amp which makes for the experience to be so much more enjoyable. All in all you get what you pay for which is a kick ass haircut in a kick ass spot with kick ass music and kick ass people !

I just moved to the neighborhood and figured I would check out this place because of the phenomenal reviews. And I was not let down. Joan has cut my hair twice now and I’m hooked. Usually when I get home after a haircut I immediately wash, trim and restyle it. Not anymore. I have never been happy with my hair until now. Thanks Joan!

Have been coming here for 3 or 4 haircuts now and they have all been amazing. Jason is a true artist and takes a lot of pride in the work that he does. The last haircut I got from him was one of, if not the best, haircuts I have ever received. No lie. It is tucked away upstairs above a restaurant, and you would never find it if you did not know about it. It is definitely worth seeking out if you want an amazing cut. Also online scheduling is super easy and can be done at anytime.

I got my hair cut by Shane and had a great experience. I had a hard time locating the place initially, but I realized that it was inside an apartment-​like place. You have to take the steps up the white building and make your right. It will be to your right side when you enter the hallway. Inside is totally different! Classy and woodsy is how I’d describe the vibe. Comfortable setting.
Shane did a really good job at cleaning up my strange cut from another place. Essentially I got an undercut. Shane has a very down-​to-​earth presence and it felt like it was a small world because we came from the same state. He was also really careful with the cut, and definitely knows how to chisel a man’s face. He’s really good at making your hair work with your head and shape.
The price is a little up there, but I think it’s worth it because it will grow out looking tamed and prevents me from going every month. If you’re willing to spend a little for a modern barbershop experience, I’d recommend this place.

Ramona did my hair at «The Parlour» — and though it was a little pricier than I’m usually used to, I love the attention she spent on my hair and I absolutely love my look now. If I can only re-​arrange my budget now to make this a regular thing…

Collin has great skills, really put a lot of attention and detail into the cut/​shave. Awesome energy in the entire venue I would highly recommend giving it a try. Nice that they only take appointments. No walk ins, no wait.

I live in Los Feliz and travel 30 mins out of my way to get a cut by MIKEY. I’m always beyond satisfied after the cut. He never rushes, knows exactly what type of look you’re going for. About 3 of my friends are regular clients of his too. We all go to him. The place is Beautiful too. MIKEY trust me…

This review is for Collin. No bull, detailed, attentive, skilled, professional. Couldn’t really ask for more, wish I had brought more cash for tip, will surely next time as I will be a regular as long as I am in the area.

Five stars all the way. I always go to Collin, he’s a freaking artist! His fades are always crisp and tight. The Cut By has a super chill vibe, end the guys are all really cool. They have free liquor and red bull, too. What more could you ask for? I don’t go anywhere else. It’s really easy to set up an appointment too, just go to their Web page and a couple clicks later it’s all taken care of. I would recommend going to Collin, that guy is great!!!

1^st of, when you walk in to TheCutBy, the vibe, the energy and the ambience is superb.
2^nd, I have been growing my beard for awhile now and could not find anyone Good who’s able to trim my beard exactly how I wanted nor give me a fade the Right way, without uneven lines.
Then I met COLLIN. This guy knows Exactly what he’s doing, he listens to you, and he’s very particular with his cuts.
Long story short, after being in Customer Service for over 10years, I can honestly say, my experience at TheCutBy with Collin is been absolutely amazing, and if you want the best cut, trim, fade etc. Go See Collin.

Wade knows hair. I didn’t think that spending $ 60 on a haircut would be anywhere NEAR worth it’s weight; but I was wrong.
The first time I sat with him we just chatted about my hair for a good 25 minutes. I was looking for something new and lower maintenance, and he knew several ways to accomplish that.
The cut was a progressive conversation, Wade always pausing to check in with me and talk through the next portion of the cut and the decisions I was going to need to make (how often do I want to return, how long am I willing to spend each morning on my hair).
I have now gone 3 times, each experience better than the last. I no longer question his abilities. I just sit down and give him complete creative control.
