The Connected Dancer

Working with Katie was, hands down, the most fun part of planning our wedding. We purchased a four-​lesson package, which was plenty of time to learn the choreography. We would recommend her in a heartbeat to any couple looking to make their first dance super fun and extra special.

I bought a groupon about 2 weeks before my wedding.
I was a little worried since everywhere I called seemed to want me to purchase extra sessions. I was very tight on my budget. However, Katie didn’t even try to make us purchase more and worked with us with the amount of lessons we bought.
My husband and I were both confident about our first dance! Katie choreographed a dance that was perfect and fitting for us. She was fun to work with and she was super friendly!
Our first dance rocked! I definitely recommend Katie! She is the best!

I have taken lessons from both Shawn and Katie. I really enjoy their teaching style. They both encourage me and have given me a lot of confidence in my dancing.
I originally had learned swing dancing but focused on various ballroom dances with them. I really enjoy their teaching style and now have more confidence in my skills to go out dancing on my own.

My husband and I were preparing for our Wedding back in December of 2013. My husband is not the most coordinated in moving, and myself — well despite my own passing in various dance forms I had never partner danced. It took a little bit of coaxing to get him to agree to trying a lesson initially but after meeting Katie we both instantly knew this was going to be a great way for us to not only accomplish a good first dance for our reception but also a stress reliever.
We had such great fun learning the basics of ballroom from Katie and Shawn. They focused not only on a choreographed piece for our first dance and song, but gave us the confidence to dance no matter what piece of music came on. That was especially valuable — no longer would my husband do the white boy shuffle as he called it, but more importantly it made us shine opposed to your normal 8^th grade mixer sway of side to side.
We made such a connection with Katie and Shawn that our Friendship lasted beyond our wedding and while we’re all busy folk — we try to keep in contact. We’re looking forward to a time where we can pick up lessons again.
They provide more than just dance fundamentals but show you how to feel comfortable with your body movement. They’ll inspire and excite you. I cannot recommend their services enough!

Katie has paved the transitional path for this contemporary ballet dancer to ballroom with her teachings expertise. Her lessons are fun, her teaching style sensitive, and I look forward to my lessons filled with beautiful movement and improved connection. Working with Katie has given me back my joy of dancing!
