Love this place. The food and prices are awesome. The Grilled Beef Salad is to die for. Service has also been pretty good for the most part. One star docked for the parking situation. The valet parking guys are very corrupt and if you are not on the ball, they try to cheat you on the rate. Other than that this place is great. Live music most days I think. Go check it out.

Love this place. Such a whole in the wall. The live entertainment aka thai women singing nineties pop songs is excellent. Their miley cyrus homage is to die for. Love the food. Such an extensive menu too. However love aside… stay away from the fried ice cream. It is literally two pieces of oil fried bread with 99 cent store ice milk shoved up in its business. Im sorry but who has soggy toast and creamer for dessert? I feel sorry for the children that dont know what good ice cream is as they encounter asian fusion. Good thing the bakery next door has pandas full of fruit jelly and thai cocunut poopies intact with corn kernals. Yummo.

I love the heck outta this place despite the occasional inattentive service. The food is awesome and I especially love the seafood volcano and crab fried rice. Nom nom! Downside is valet parking that costs extra after 30 minutes even though the lot is tiny. They also don’t take Amex but what else is new…

Not enough Thais at a Thai restaurant. A key deterrent from going to any Asian restaurant is when there is a lack of culture in the dining room. No offense but you can tell if you’re in for an authentic meal by the crowd that frequents the restaurant. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, as it was advertise to be a «must try». I found that this«must try» was very unimpressive. I had better Thai food for similar prices. Although the portion size was huge, it lacked in flavor. The noodles stuck together yet it was very greasy. And the flavors were just lacking. I needed more everything, more peanuts, lime juice, tamarind, anything to offer my lack luster meal some sort of authenticity and flavor. The service was okay. I think they came by the table to take our order then brought out the meals, then was non-existent. I don’t think I would make my way out here again. The only saving grace is the fact I got a lot of food for the price, only wish it was good Thai food.

We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. It took forever, staff ignored us for the most part and messed up our orders. No customer service whatsoever. Overpriced. I will never visit this place again. I would go ANYWHERE else!

Terrible costumer service, they changed my order and I just realized when I got home. I call back for a solution and all I’ve heard was: «one day, if you come back, I will get your right order for free, now you can get this one… throw it away… whatever.» I understand mistakes happen, but at least it should be fixed in an reasonable way. AWFUL place, I even signed up to Unilocal just to warn people.

I had the tom ka and papaya salad. Was alright. Very spicy which was a plus because a lot of LA Thai food is not. The service was alright, a little slow(took about 10 minutes to get our change) The tom ka didn’t have a very full flavor, was kind of watery. Clean environment and okay food. Good late night spot but not something I would recommend over other places in the area.

My all time favorite is the Egg Plant Basil, it’s simply delicious, their Pad See is good too. Atmosphere is good, parking great, service is ok. :)

came here just a few days ago after a concert and was craving something OILY. weird to crave oil but yet i did crave oily. So it was this or IHOP and i think we made the right decision. I was super adventurous and ordered Thai style thousan year old egg! It was deep fried and satified my oily craving. Then got a pot of the kham ta or whatever it was. THat hit the spot. The place is kind of weird and blasts clubbing music, but I guess besides that It’s very clean and nice service. They also have Karaōke there and Thai Elvis! that makes me happy!

Normally I go to Red Corner Asia when my wife and I pass through LA. But since Thai Patio was always crowded we wanted to check it out, even though it’s not as nice inside as RCA. We we’re disappointed and won’t go back. The food was medicore and the service was very slow, although they were busy. I don’t know why it’s so popular, but that’s OK, because it makes RCA less crowded and even better to go to. Maybe Thai Patio has some dishes that are good that we just didn’t try.

BIGMEH! i was convinced(reluctantly) by a friend to give this place a shot, even though I had my heart set on Red Corner Asia just a few doors down. She said that she much preferred Thai Patio to Red Corner Asia. She was wrong. Never trust a vegetarian that doesn’t like tofu, Chinese food, or tea. LESSONLEARNED! When we walked in, the waiters seemed to be having a staff meeting, so it took a minute or two to get someone to seat us. Upon first impression, it doesn’t seem as clean as others find it. In fact I felt greasy as soon as I walked in. I ordered the red curry with pork lunch special. It was just alright. I don’t think this place was completely awful, but I wasn’t impressed, and the flavor of the food wasn’t enough to win me over. You’d be better walking across the parking lot and going to Red Corner Asia.

UPDATE3÷11÷08 — Thai Patio left us for greener pastures. I think actually that the strip mall landlord tried to jack up their rent(there is currently a ton of store turnover going on over there), so my friends who made me such delicious pad thai will now be treating the residents somewhere around Hollywood and Vine to their recipe. I miss it already. Sigh. **************************** I’d say that the dine in experience is a 3 star experience. Décor etc. is on the low end of strip mall bare, and it is one of those places that you could very well end up being the only dine in customer for your entire dining experience(which always feels kind of weird to me). However. This is the neighborhood Thai takeout place and I have to say that the food really holds up to takeout demands. I’ll go ahead and admit that I usually(read: always) get pad thai. I’m such a creature of habit. The pad thai here is good. And if you add just a touch of asian spicy sauce(you know, the red one in the clear container, with the green lid) to it and mix it all around, it is excellent. The soups are also quite tasty. And after reading the other Unilocal reviews, I’m inspired to try out the pineapple fried rice(sounds scrumptious) and some other entrees. As noted, everything is cheap, cheap, cheap, which is essential in your go-to neighborhood carry out joints. To recap: ixnay on the ine-in-day, but many thumbs up on Thai Patio takeout. I’m pretty sure I’ll be having some of this during STORMWATCH2008 this weekend. With my fireplace on and some fuzzy slippers watching playoff football on tv. Good cozy indoors food!

this place used to be good like three years ago, before they changed chefs. the last time i ordered pad thai here, i swear there were so many pieces of egg shell in it. it was downright nasty. i asked the waitress to change it and she did. only after i explained it about 3 times. i had to point to the egg shells. then she started laughing. i guess people laugh when they don’t know get what’s going on. so she changed it and i began eating again. a couple bites into it. there were… more. egg. shells. then i lost my appetite and just waited for everyone else to finish their thai bbq chicken, which was free of shells. the lunch specials are cheap and you can choose from six or seven different dishes. their curries aren’t bad and they tom yum gai is pretty good. i would just suggest ordering anything without eggs. if you need to use the restroom, you have to take a golden coin from the cashier and walk there [ it’s outside of the restaurant, shared by the rest of the shopping center so it’s like a public bathroom ] + lunch specials — kind of americanized

I’m only giving Thai Patio 4 stars because you get pretty good thai food for VERY, VERY cheap. If i remember correctly, as of today they still have 3.99 lunch specials that include, a kinda cheap salad with some honey mustard sauce and an entrée of your choice. There are only a few to choose from like A, B, C, or D… chicken terriyaki, spicy basil pork etc… all of which I have seen or tried. I honestly don’t like the stir fried dishes very much and would only get the Pad Thai lunch special. It’s actually quite tasty and flavorful for such a cheap price. The restaurant is located in a little quad area between K-Mart and Whole Foods and is a little hard to see in the parking lot. I recommend this place for a quick lunch if you work around the 3rd street, fairfax/la brea area. Update: I just dined here for a quick dinner and the food was pretty sick. The chicken is obviously pre-cooked, rubbery, and seriously lacking flavor. They use the same chicken in ever dish… pad thai, curry, etc. I ordered the Panang curry and it came out like a stir-fried dish… wtf!?Anyways, it was cold when it came out so I sent it back… came back colder… wow! Only come here for 3.99 pad thai, that is it.

Clean & cheap. The food tastes clean and presented well. The restaurant is tidy and normally operated by just two people out in the front. The menu is a little beaten up and your food will be served on chipped plates. But don’t fret, it’s all part of the charm(well, at least that’s what you can keep telling yourself). The items on the menu are on average about $ 6.00. Which means you can get one of every kind and not even sweat it. Try the Pad Thai with tofu(your other choices are beef, chicken, pork, shrimp or seafood), or the Thai Patio Combination that full of all sorts of goodies(although I wasn’t too sure about the«Treasure Bags»). The place is a bit hard to find as it’s tucked away in a courtyard, out of view from the parking lot. That dark alley that doesn’t seem right… yeah… that one. It’s back there.

I know I know, WHO walks between the KMart/Little Caesars food court and the wig shop to check out a random Thai food place in the back of the patio. It came recommended so I took the plunge when I was craving Thai food the other night… and I must say it hit the spot. Not as great as some Thai places, but for the price and the convenience(that parking lot is never convenient but it’s open till 10 so that is) it can’t be beat. The pad thai was good, the Korean beef BBQ ok(not a huge portion) and the yellow curry was yummy, lots of chicken and onions, mmm… and they even ask you how spicy you want it when you order. Got those three dishes plus a huge side of rice for $ 20– not bad for two people with a bit left over!
