I wanted to like this place soooooo bad! My server was friendly and nice and really went out of his way to serve me. I ordered the pad Thai lunch special and well it was not that great. In fact it was pretty gross. I didn’t want to complain and send it back so I just picked at it. I also ordered the fried wontons and ugh I was disappointed yet again :( Thai tea was good! I would say that I would like to try this place out again but I probably won’t since the Indian food place down the street has way better food. I ended up tipping my server $ 15. I used to be a server myself and my server seemed that he should have been retired already and well he did give me good service.

This food is totally fine. I eat there for convenience. Not amazing quality but totally acceptable. Their pineapple fried rice is my dish of choice and has no gluten in it.

Food was good and cheap enough. I enjoyed whole my lunch time. But it’s a shame that they added more tip to what I had written down.

Takeout lunch review only: Got Pad Ga Pow Chicken, requested extra spicy. Just enough heat for me, not burn-your-face-off spicy. Lunch combos come with white rice, a salad and an egg roll. The egg roll was the size of my thumb, filled with peas and other not so common veggies, and the salad was in the same container as my steaming hot food so it was a bit wilted by the time I got back to my desk. Overall tasty and a good value though!

The food here is of good quality, evidenced by my finishing my entire plate for lunch. It’s a good reliable sized portion for roughly $ 10 per person after tax/tip for an entrée. Parking can be difficult in the area of WIlshire/Barrington on the cusp of Brentwood, Westwood and Santa Monica, but if you have good parking karma and know where to park or are willing to pay for the meters, it’s not too hard to find a spot. The service here was friendly and accommodating too.

The food is good, but will not go back again. I found tiny worms/bugs in their chili powder. The person that I reported it to said it was normal… Even if it «normal.» I’m sooooo grossed out!!!

Great service and large portions. I definitely like the pad thai better than the pad see ew. Their lunch specials are a pretty good deal. Check it out!

I have been coming here for over twenty years and I am a bit sentimental in my review. I remember when Thai Bamboo was one of the few Thai restaurants in the area, housed in an actual bamboo covered room, puffer fish hanging from the ceiling like an exotic Thai Tiki Room in West LA. What stands out to me so much is that this family run restaurant has employed the same incredible server for the entire time I have been returning. I can’t speak to many of the items on the menu but I will say that the tamarind spiked«Thai Bamboo Cashew Nut Chicken» makes me happy in a way that extends beyond a good lunch. It makes me relieve childhood memories of a once-exotic cuisine where the staff is lovely and times doesn’t seem to change.

Take out only: Had good portions! Good food. We didn’t have many complaints except that the food doesn’t come with rice. I got the eggplant with tofu and husband got red curry with chicken. We both wished they made it slightly more spicy but it did come with the red chili sauce that we love. I also wish my eggplant with tofu was packaged better. The sauce was running out of the styrofoam box into the bag so I missed out on a lot of the broth. Delivery was quick but we got through a different delivery service and not the actual restaurant.

Service was quick and nice. Price was good. Unfortunately the food was not. I got the chicken pad see ew, and it was bland and a little sour. The chicken was dry. There are better places to get Thai food around here.

I was very excited to try the yellow chicken curry as I am hunting for the best on the west side. I was very dissapointed. What came out was a bowl of coconut milk with 3 maybe 4 pieces of chicken, no flavor — it was white colored like milk, carrots and potatoes and small egg roll, very dissapointed to have to write this review. Atmosphere and wait staff were very nice. The fried rice had very large fresh vegetables. We wanted fried wantonly, but they did not have any during lunch time– dissaponted

They had me at crab friend rice and the home made sauces. You can crush anything here and be satisfied. Best Thai I have had in a long time. BOMB.COM

So happy to have this gem in the neighborhood, just around the corner from my apartment! My husband and I went to check it out and were pleasantly surprised. I had forgotten about my favorite dish of Massaman curry, but was so happily brought back to my college days in Columbia Missouri, working at Thai Kitchen and eating this almost every day. My husband enjoyed his pad thai much more than what we had been eating the past few years while living downtown. The restaurant is pretty small and no one was there, but it was nice and quiet. Obviously they deliver as well, and were busy putting together delivery and pick up orders.

I come here often during lunch break with my coworkers. There is one lady doing the cashier job and another guy is a waiter. He is really nice and friendly. I’ve tried: Pad Thai: Not the best, but not the worst I’ve had either. Curries: I’ve tried all the curries here and they are all excellent. I recommend the curries if you are indecisive on what to get. Egg Plant Dish: Really good. I love eggplant and they cook this one amazingly. Get it with a side of rice and it is the perfect meal. Definitely hits the spot. Tom Yum: Decent Tom Yum. Really good on dark/gloomy weather days Overall, cheap and decent place for a quick lunch. Food is served quick and the service is friendly. The one waiter working here is amazing.
