Came here on a Saturday afternoon for dinela. Service was super slow and the bus boys who brought our charcuterie and lobster bisque(two separate people) didn’t know what they were serving us. He pointed at things and described the wrong items. The other half of the platter he kept saying, «I forgot… and I don’t know what it’s called» which was comical but unhelpful. The bisque was perfection. I was worried it would be too salty because that’s what I had read on Unilocal. But yeah, the server didn’t know what the soup was. Our actual waitress asked if she could get us more water but one person never got the water he asked for. A separate man knocked over my friend’s water. My croque madame was really burnt. To be fair, I probably should have asked them to remake it BUT I shouldn’t have to get a burnt croque madame in the first place. When we first walked in I had seen a woman telling her server that they brought her the wrong dish and they had to take it back(should’ve taken that as a sign). Fried chicken sandwich was yummy and tender but the bread to chicken ratio was majority bread. GETTHEEGGSPURGATORY. It was super good. Didn’t try the hash but someone in our party said it was phenomenal. Super cute décor and nice restaurant with a gorgeous bar and wine room. Servers are nice but service is slow and not very knowledgeable. $ 8 for valet parking in the back.

Came here for DineLA lunch on a rainy day, so couldn’t enjoy the beautiful patio. Had the lobster bisque(good but SALTY) and the cheeseburger(solid but not at the pantheon). The menu has too much treif for my taste — treif being things I’d never want to put in my mouth — but I can see the appeal for foodies.

The restaurant has a really cute outdoor patio, but sadly it was too cold to sit outside. I’m giving it 3 stars based on the price/value. Pie thief punch(4⁄5): my bf really enjoyed it! It’s not a sweet cocktail, but there wasn’t enough of it :( Onion soup(1⁄5): very salty & the top was too burnt Seared foie gras(3⁄5): I was slightly disappointed because it wasn’t hot and it wasn’t seared enough Steak frites(4.5÷5): the steak was good for its price. The steak fries were hot and tastes great with the aioli Cote de porc(3.5÷5): the pork was tender, but on the pricey side. I liked the apples & figs that accompanied it DineLA Duck & foie gras salad(3⁄5) Agnolotti(3⁄5): decent amount of food for an appetizer Short rib(3.5÷5): it was on the saltier side for me, but the meat was tender Sticky toffee pudding(2⁄5): it tastes more like soft bread pudding Apple dessert(2.5÷5): the apples were good & it comes a la mode

The food is really good indeed. Nothing to say about that, except if you are really hungry at the end you are still hungry. And the bill, it’s maybe cause i’m not from here, but at the in France the price on the menu is what you pay at the end. Here they also add 3% taxe for kitchen insurance … Seriously guys ??? WTF.

The atmosphere is everything you could ever want from a chic French eatery. The mismatched napkin rings, vintage water pitchers and no refills on coffee… it’s just perfectly parisian. If you go for brunch, which you should, order rose´, avocado toast & the short rib hash. For dinner, you cannot go wrong with a bottle of bordeaux, steak frites and a charcuterie for dessert.

I went here for my birthday with a table for 6. The food was OK. I’d definitely get the burger with foie gras if you eat unethically. The drinks were OK but not worth $ 15. The drinks in Manhattan at the best bars are $ 15, and they are so much better than what’s here. I think everyone enjoyed themselves, but the service was horrendous. The waitress kept forgetting to bring things when we asked. I had to wait 20 minutes after getting my food for the fries to arrive. She forgot a dessert we ordered. When she took the first round of drinks, she skipped me, and I had to do her job for her. You’d just expect more. If not for the crappy service, it would have been a fun night with less-than-extraordinary food.

Very cute restaurant. Love the outdoor ambience. Had our girls night there during dineLA week. We decided to try all of the option plus extra items a la carte. Two items we barely touched. The lobster bisque was tiny and very salty; the fried fish nugget was not good. I really like the pan seared foie gras, crispy yet melt in your mouth! The truffle agnolotti was also very flavorful and a must try! The steak frites a la carte was surprisingly good. The fries was addictive and the steak was cooked just as I ordered, medium rare. Simple yet yummy. So there are hits and misses on the menu. The service was attentive and courteous.

The 4 stars was for our really amazing server last night but the food and drinks were only a 3 out of 5. We went here because my husband, who is also a chef, heard great things about this restaurant. We wanted to try their DineLA prix-fixe dinner. Foie Gras Salad — 4⁄5 because my husband loved it. I am not really a fan of duck but the texture of this salad and tiny bits of duck were good for me. Truffle Agnolloti — 5⁄5 We both loved this one. It was cheesy, creamy and the hazelnuts added a nice texture to the dish. Monkfish — 3⁄5 I thought there was nothing special about this and the sauce was too sour for me. Wagyu Shortribs — 3⁄5 I am conflicted with this one because the meat itself was tender but I thought it was overseasoned and the sauce was salty. Pain Perdu — 4⁄5 My husband loved the ice cream with apples. Sticky Toffee Pudding — 4⁄5 I liked how the combination of bitter pudding, sweet caramel and sour cream in my mouth. It was a melting pot of flavors and was a redemption from the main course. Sour whiskey — 3⁄5 I would commend that they used egg whites but it still tasted like meh. Winter Daiquiri — 3⁄5 I wanted something sweet but this one that they recommended was still a bit bitter. Hot Butter Rum — 3⁄5 I ordered it because the first time I had it at Damon’s, it was pretty good. My husband hated it. I didn’t love it. Their version was too bitter like pure coffee with rum. Our server was great. She was very friendly and kept on checking on us. She also gave us 10% discount because my husband is also from the food industry so kudos to her! For a Tuesday night though, we waited quite a bit for the main course and the desserts to come.

At night, the restaurant itself is very dark and dim from the outside so you should just look out for their big logo of a hog. There is parking curb-side along the streets next to the restaurant block. The entrance is on the side through a small door. Instead of the hostess being in the front, you have to walk passed the bar, to the middle, to get seated. I had made a reservation for a party of 4 with my girlfriends for 6:45pm but unfortunately, we had just gotten there at 7:30. After explaining to us that they usually try to allow guests 2 – 2 ½ hours to dine and enjoy their meal, they didn’t want guests who had reserved their table after us to have to wait which we completely understand. But even so, after talking to the manager, the hostess still managed to get us a table despite HOWLATE we were! And she was so sweet and apologetic about it. We were seated outside. It was beautiful! A very nice ambiance with lights strung everywhere across a big tree and they had the fire lamp heaters so don’t worry about being cold. We decided to get the dineLA prefix menu for $ 39 and the server took our orders in very quick. FOOD! Everyone tried a bit of everything. Appetizers: Foie gras and duck salad — you either like foie gras or you don’t lol but the pieces were tiny and the greens itself was sparse(would recommend if you like it, obviously) 5⁄10 Truffle Agnolotti — pretty good, super cheesy! Don’t have bad things to say about this one! 6⁄10 Lobster bisque — SOSALTY! It tasted like the ocean! There was a VERY salty fishy taste that hurt your throat the more you drank it. Only good part was the two pieces of lobster meat. 3⁄10 Entrées: Wagyu short rib — one of the best short ribs I’ve had! So flavorful and the sauce and the pomme purée complimented it just right.(LOVED!) 8.5÷10 Roasted monkfish — mediocre, it wasn’t bad but there wasn’t anything special about it. 6⁄10 Dessert: Pain Perdu — OHMYGOD. ITWASSOGOOD. The best thing about that night! The apples were roasted and glazed. The bitter almond ice cream was great(tasted like vanilla, wouldn’t have told the difference if not seeing it on the menu). BUTLETMETELLYOUABOUTTHEBREAD. The brioche was French-toasty and so fluffy. 10⁄10 Sticky Toffee Pudding — was pretty good, tasted like dark chocolate. My friend loved it. 7⁄10 The water-refill service was INCREDIBLYIMPRESSIVE. Out glasses were never empty! Waiters and servers were very nice and came to check on us often.

Our party of four waited 40 minutes to be served pre-made concentrated ocean water, which they claimed to be «savory» lobster bisque(apparently savory = SALTYAF). We sent the soups back, but were asked to order other menu items ATADDITIONALCOST. We refused, and after another 20 minutes we were given 3 small forgettable dishes to compensate for the 4 soups we sent back. Another 15 minutes later, we got our main courses. An hour and a half after that, my friend began his 6-hour worship of the great white throne. Sure, they threw in ONE French Toast for the FOUROFUS to share, but we were still charged full price for the things we ordered. Terrine, congratulations. You have set a new bar for a one-star experience. NEVERAGAIN. «Terrible + Latrine = Terrine» — Richard K.

I was torn between a 1 star and a 2 star review on this one. I ended up deciding that a 1 star review should involve something more intense like actual rudeness or spoiled food, hence the 2 star decision, but barely. I read some good things about this place, so I decided to check it out. Sadly, I ended up feeling like my taste buds, and therefore my wallet as well, got raped. We tried a number of the items on their menu and most of the items were just grossly oversalted and not much else. Tremendous amount of oversalting with lack of other flavoring. If someone loves to munch on tons of salt, then they may enjoy this place, otherwise, I cannot imagine someone wanting to spend their money here. Below I will describe each dish we had, trying to find the positive attributes of each one of them. Their garbure(a duck soup type of dish) is possibly one of the worst tasting, intensely salty things I may have ever tasted, and I actually enjoy salty things when they are done to my liking. The truffled rice agnolotti was ok, I enjoyed the hazelnut garnish on that dish. The octopus was decent. I enjoyed that some. Good texture. Oversalted of course. The fish sandwich was pretty good. We liked the batter and the flavor. The fish tasted fresh and had a nice texture. But of course, it too, had too much salt added to it. Tournedos Rossini with filet mignon medallions and foie gras was where that extra star mostly came from. The filet mignon was well cooked and not overcooked, which is very important to me. And the foie gras was actually rather tasty. The dish was also not as oversalted as the other dishes. This one dish was a breather from all the taste bud rape feelings from other dishes. The fluke crudo tasted fresh. The dish was overly salty though and had way too much oil all over it. The dessert we had was the profiteroles which were awful. I am pretty sure I could buy better ones for less at a local supermarket. The pastry part was too hard and unflavorful and the filling was too cold and frosty, and even had crystalized ice in it. The chocolate sauce seemed to taste like it was just Hershey’s chocolate syrup or something, which I never have by choice. One of the worst desserts I have ever had for sure. And along with the food not being great at all and leaving us very unhappy in every way, the service was pretty bad as well, with time between courses being incredibly long and our water not getting refilled. So, you can imagine the sad feeling we had when it was time to pay for this extremely disappointing meal. We were sad for sure. Definitely one of our worst dining experiences. I don’t understand how this place has 4 stars on Unilocal and all these positive reviews. I am very puzzled by that. I don’t drink alcohol, so maybe people love their alcoholic beverages and maybe those are not bad. And I notice a lot of people seem to flip out over the patio. Yes, the patio is nice, but not super unique or amazing to an extent that I would not care about the awful food experience. Overall, sadly, this was a huge waste of our money, time, and taste bud torture. …XooX SuperGirl

Lovely spot! I stopped by Terrine the other night to try the winter eggnog cocktail that I read about on Eater. It was fantastically boozy, and I found that the other cocktails I ordered were equally well-made by Marlene, the super-kind bartender. I also liked their«Improved Cocktail» — made with Brenne, a French whisky brand. I definitely want to come back to try their brunch, especially as they have a sweet patio in the back.

I’m not sure what more can be said. Terrine is simply the best new restaurant that I tried all of last year. They could charge exorbitant prices for canned soup and still get away with it, that’s how stunning the back patio is. Fortunately for us, the food is absolutely incredible. The charcuterie is in a league all its own, the agnolotti is perfect, and the duck fat Yorkshire pudding, let me tell you. That dish has long been a Christmas tradition within my family, and I hadn’t seen it on a menu until now. And boy did they really nail it! Heavenly. The cocktails are also exquisite — I tried both the Blood & Sand and the Beverly Fix and they’re both to die for. Vive la Terrine!

My man friend let’s me select whatever restaurant I like, so I tend to make all of the reservations. We came here on a Saturday night and sat by the bar as we waited for the table. Immediately loved the ambiance. We sat and ordered a ton of food but the platters that really stood out were the escargot and the hamachi. Incredible. Truly. He loved his Mezcal cocktail as well. There was a couple next to us who were arguing or complaining about service or something but they made such a fuss over nothing. The manager came to our table afterward and apologized on their behalf and sent out dessert and comped some things for the disturbance. Although we didn’t complain, that kind of attention to detail and service made this place one of my favorites. I can’t wait to be back! Awesome team you all have!

We adored everything about this place: the gorgeously-lit patio, the enthusiastic waitress, the food and cocktails, and that older couple with their pup who have a regular corner table for their Friday dinners. My group always tends to over-order but thankfully, the waitress was cool and savvy and told us to go slow and order more if we need to. The charcuterie and pigs ears were stellar and every terrine we inhaled was just delicious. I want to come back to try the bigger plates. Definitely perfect for a Date Night. You gotta love a joint with a pig as its mascot.

Let me start by saying that this 1 Star was not based on my dining experience, but from what I saw during my dining experience. I came here with my GF for Sunday brunch for a special occasion. We made reservations and were seated immediately outdoor in the nice patio. Although I usually prefer indoors, it was pretty nice outside so I didn’t complain. While eating, we experienced the worse thing that can happen at any restaurant — lots of FLIES! However, I don’t blame them since they cannot control what happens outdoor. Most of the tables around us requested to be seated inside due to the flies and we did the same. Slowly but surely, every guest seated outside was being moved inside. And then, it happened… It was this nice couple’s turn to move indoors after trying to swat away the flies from their food in the patio. I saw that the gentleman took his plate of food with him but the lady left hers behind. A few minutes after they left to move inside, I see the busboy cleaning up their table, swatting away the flies that were in the girls food and stacking up the dirty dishes on his arms and hands — nothing unusual. However, the hostess that sat the couple indoors tells the busboy that the lady requested her food. I hear him say«But I touched it»(and don’t forget the flies already ate from there as well) and she basically took it off the busboys hands and took it inside. WHATTHE F@#K?! I was disgusted by this action. I am sure if the hostess would’ve explain what happened to the lady she would’ve understood. I hope she didn’t get sick from eating what was not supposed to be served to her. SIGH. The food and service my GF and I experienced were great, but I cannot overcome what I saw. Seriously. NOTCOOL. Do not serve food that were touched by flies, the busboy, or anything/anyone that isn’t the customer. Thanks.

Wowzers! Superb rustic French cuisine. The ambience was impressive with a live giant old tree at the back patio. I was greeted at the door and a guy helped me with the cake immediately and he disappeared! I assumed he brought the cake in the back kitchen fridge. I found out later that he’s Francois Renaud, part-owner and manager of Terrine. That was just a super nice gesture. I was 15 minute early for the reservation so I was led to the bar and tried PISCOSOUR, yum! The bartenders were really personable, I liked that. See the photos with my review. My favorite was the PORKBELLY. I always believe that no one can ever go wrong with pork belly. It melted in my mouth, the sweetness was just right. We also enjoyed the HALF-ROASTEDDUCK with grand marnier and orange sauce. Super tasty! Me and my friends, group of 5, have enjoyed their excellent service. Matt, our main server, was the best! The most exciting part was when Kris Morningstar came out and had a quick chat with us! Woo hoo! And pictures were taken, of course! Thank you so much, Chef for making my friend’s birthday somewhat unforgettable.(Follow him on IG!) Valet parking only with $ 8 service charge. I can’t complain. Just none.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and enjoyed the amazing décor and the wonderful outdoor area. It’s always great when the atmosphere, service and food all match up because it makes for a perfect experience and I am all about the overall experience. Food was delicious and perfect portion size that doesn’t make you wishing you need a barrel to carried out. Eggs in purgatory had great flavors and spicy which was perfect for me. Husband ordered fried chicken and was ecstatic over the taste! One of the owners that was working that morning was extremely friendly and so accommodating and such a pleasant person to deal with. Can’t wait to go back and try them for dinner!

Amazing dinner experience if you’re willing to splurge a little. For four girls who were ready to try a little bit of everything Terrine’s known for, we spent about $ 60 per person for a 3+ hour dinner and left pretty satisfied. We ordered their special Charcuterie board with 5 different meats, an assortment of pickled veggies and sauces that included fig jam and different mustards. The meats included pork rillete, truffled chicken liver pâté, andouille sausage, pork terrine, and head cheese(meat jelly). As a pâté lover, the chicken liver was my favorite — it paired especially well with the mustards, The head cheese had a nice smokey flavor, but it was just too fatty. The pickles were nicely done, and our server was kind enough to bring extra baguettes slices since we’re all carb fiends. The good: Sweet Corn Agnolotti was the highlight of the meal. Little pillow dumplings filled with sweet corn purée topped with hazelnuts. The sauce was foamy, which I really don’t like, but it didn’t affect the buttery and sweetness of the agnolotti. Crispy Pig Ears served with a yogurt sauce was divine. This was served like fries, and each piece was savory, crispy and chewy. I could eat this for days. Grilled Octopus was OK. I’m not a huge fan of octopus, but the texture resembled meat so much, and I felt like I was eating pork or beef. Definitely worth a try if you love octopus. Crispy Pork Belly was also something I wouldn’t typically order but was so glad I did. It was served on a bed of farro with a balsamic reduction and grilled nectarine slices. The sweetness of the reduction and nectarines balanced amazingly with the fat and meatiness of the pork belly. The crispy outer layer was the perfect contrast to the juicy pork belly. Roasted Duck: this reminded me of a high end Sam Woo roasted duck, except it wasn’t served with the head. It even came with a sweet orange sauce you typically eat with at a Cantonese restaurant. We were first served the duck prior to it being sliced, which I thought was a nice touch. The bad: French onion soup was very bland and underwhelming. It didn’t have enough richness and depth in flavor that I was expecting. Also, not enough cheese, which is like adding insult to injury. We also got the Duck Yorkshire Pudding, which was good but was overwhelmed with herbs and chives, not in a good way. I don’t mind a bit of sage or parsley, but the yorkshire pudding was covered in herbs, and it didn’t have a strong duck flavor. Our server accidentally put in an order of the roasted chicken instead of the duck, so we were lucky enough to try the chicken as well. The chicken was just average, and I got a few pieces of very dry meat. Service was amazing, and you can’t really complain about the beautiful ambiance on their patio. We sat next to one of the planters, and both me and another girlfriend got a few mosquito bites from dinner. We also got a few visits from tiny slugs feasting on some leaves. It might be a good idea to trim the bushes or set the tables a bit farther than against the planters. Overall, the food and experience were excellent, but I’ll be checking out their brunch next time!

Beautiful restaurant. Poor food. Been here several times and love ambiance, but the food is expensive and below average. Skip the food and come for drinks. The patio is majestic.
