Tatiana’s is my go-to place for lunch near UCLA. When I went to UCSC for undergrad, I would always go to this amazing taco truck on campus. After I left, I didn’t expect I would find another taco truck that would satisfy me. Tatiana’s definitely comes close. Their tongue and cabeza burritos are my favorite items. The service is great, the food usually gets out quickly, and the prices are reasonable. My friends and I would frequently come to Tatiana’s and would always leave content and very full.

Tatiana’s is near and dear to my heart. My friend and I often came to this food truck when it is stationed in Westwood right off the UCLA campus. We love the breakfast burritos and the regular burritos too! I’ve also had the tortas; sometimes the chicken can be a bit dry, but the beef one is good. Tatiana’s also does catering, so we requested a taco platter for a lab game night. Everyone loved it! It came with plates of rice, beans, guac, chicken, beef, lots of tortillas, and pico. Definitely a great option for parties!

Tatiana’s Catering is one of many taco trucks in the area. It’s better than most though because it has authentic food at a reasonable price. My current favorite is the burrito with cabeza. It is rich and flavorful, and the texture is incredible. Make sure you get it with peppers or hot sauce. The rest of the meats are just as savory and delicious, too. Don’t be fooled by those rich people trucks; get the real deal!

Awful. We ordered a breakfast burrito(no bacon), a shrimp taco and fish taco. We were the only ones there and while I was waiting, I asked the woman who took my order what one of the items was. She didn’t really speak English so we couldn’t communicate. But when I asked for more hot sauce, her English skills came back to tell me they were 75 cents at 25 cents each. Keep in mind I tipped her $ 2. When we got home we were shocked to discover there was one – ONE! hot sauce for the burrito and 2 tacos! On top of that, the burrito had bacon AND sausage(sausage wasn’t even listed). We threw it away because we don’t eat meat and it was impossible to pick out. Food was irrelevant – experience was negative enough for the lowest rating possible. And food was whatever fyi.

Got the carne asada burrito. Just ok for a filling stop, sure it would be bomb after a few drinks. The meat was sparse and cut in tiny prices, some of which were gritty. He forgot to give me hot sauce.

The myth of bad trucks on the westside is over add this to the growing list of great trucks. I really enjoyed the al pastor and asada tacos. I posted the menu for you to review. I requested extra salsa verde it’s very good.

Okay, but nothing special. Had two pork tacos and a chicken taco, each $ 1.25. The flavor came from the sauce on top, rather than marinade of the meat itself. Hot, cheap and open late get it kudos.

Nope. Sorry. Shrimp tacos were very bland. The tortillas weren’t even heated and the salsa somehow managed to be both hot and virtually flavorless. They were also $ 2.00 each which is a little on the high side for small tacos. I knew a good seafood truck on this side of town was too good to be true… Also this truck is affiliated with the restaurant it parks in front of. Guess I will have to keep driving to the East side of town to get tacos, don’t tell Al Gore…

I had myself a taco truck experience last night. I wish I would have written this right when I got home, the experience and the smell of taco was still fresh on my fingertips. But you know what? I was drunk. I got home, drank some water, washed my hands a couple times… then crashed. So here’s my attempt at rehashing last nights wonderful experience. The night started proper. I got myself a bottle of Jack Daniels and flasked it the whole night with a friend in Venice @ the Townhouse. For some reason we got talking about food and of course, hunger became a top priority. Driving home my intentions were to stop at Cinco De Mayo, the 24 hour favorite in Culver City, when I noticed this taco truck on the corner of Venice and Centinela. Drunk me said, «Fuck yea!» I made a drunken abrupt stop at the corner(thank you God for not placing any cops in my vicinity) and made my way to the truck. I ordered myself dos tacos de carne, para llevar. I started talking to the girl who took my order and started frontin’ it, saying im a blogger and how I was super excited because I’ve never been to this spot before. I could tell she wasn’t impressed, but that’s when I heard that sound. Pssshhhhh… The sound of meat being thrown on the grill. Let me tell you, that’s one of my all time favorite sounds in cooking. After a couple minutes of shooting the shit with chica, she handed me my taco’s and I set off for the bench. My first bite was close to heaven. Granted, I was blown on herbals and Jack all night, but shit… the feeling was still real. The carne was piping hot and greasy/juicy…just how I like it. The salsa roja was excellent… spicy and flavorful. And you know its legit when you have to wash your hands more than once to get the stink off. I read this morning on taco hunt that the meat was already cooked and they just throw it back on when someone ordered. I have no problems with this. Maybe I’m just a rookie in the taco game, but at the same time, I know when something taste good. With the aforementioned, the tacos were on par with my standards, cooked twice or not. You know how many taquerias have meat that’s already cooked and sitting in a heat pan? Pro’s –Salsa Roja taco’s ~ 1.25

I have always been a big fan of the Taco Trucks around L.A., not sure if its the authenticity, the value/more bang for your buck or just the great food but these little trucks seem to have something that a lot of the restaurants lack. Sure you’re possibly gambling a little bit with your health when you get food from these places but, does it ever taste so good going down? This is one of the trucks that I frequent often. It arrives at around 8:00 or so on Venice Blvd. on the south side of the street east of Centinela. They even have the balls to park in front of another Mexican restaurant! How awesome is that? Its so awesome in fact that it pulls most of the business away from the restaurant… hehe poor bastards. Last night I got 5 Carne Asada tacos for $ 5 can’t beat that! They are garnished with red and green salsa, onions and cilantro, with some radishes on the side. The salsa has a good kick to it, definitely gives your mouth a bit of a burn. The burritos are top notch too. I usually go for the Asada or Al Pastor minus the Frijoles. Their menu has typical Mexican fare from Quesadillas to Clayudas to Camarones.(the camarones might be gambling a bit too much but hey use your discretion.)
