Food is awesome. The people are awesome. Super convenient and really good. It’s a family owned restaurant and these guys know how to make a fantastic pizza. Highly recommended :)

OMG! the Pizza at this place is freakin’ AMAZINGGGGGG! I just found out about this place when I was looking for some food for lunch and I am so glad that I did, because I’ve been coming here at least 3 – 4 times a week. Its affordable, and the food is great! The sandwiches are straight Fireeeeee! Sacrificing my diet is well worth the immense amount of gratification that I receive from eating food at this place! I HIGHLYRECOMMEND this place to any pizza/sandwich lover out there!

This place is perfect. Great food(be sure to try the soup of day), and everyone that works here is over the top nice. They serve a pretty wide variety of food, including the aforementioned soup, but they’re Persian food is a bit of a specialty, don’t be scared to ask for some advice, they’ll lead you in the right direction. Not the easiest place to find, but well worth it.

some solid pizza easily orderable and decent pasta. Easy quick fix for italian. Try it out! The time before I had the double cheese burger, it was phenomenal… Best of all, the Persian man who owns it is hella fun to talk to!

Best Breakfast Burrito in DTLA! I’ve tried the ham, the veggie, and the chorizo. the chorizo is my favorite. I try to split it in half with a coworker so I don’t feel guilty ordering so often.

This family run place is a gem find tucked away in a medical bldg on Wilshire just half block from Bixel. The specials are by word of mouth — old school! They just started making delicious thin crust pizzas — to order! Just ate today — delicious. The handsome son has joined his father in managing the restaurant and it’s clear his added role has expanded the menu. The nice thing about this place is their friendliness. They treat you like family if you get to know them and be friendly yourself. That can make lunch hour redeem any bad day at work.

Handle money and then food without washing your hands??? Really? Eeeew. Never going back. Had heard about it but when my son wanted a chicken sandwich i ordered it. The male in front charged an elderly woman with cash. He turned around and headed towards the back. Hearing about this in the past i hot up to look and sure enough saw the guy grab bread that was out on the counter not sealed or closed and begin to make my son’s sandwich. I just requested a refund and told him why i was requesting a refund. He looked surprised. But there is no way Im paying for someone to make a sandwich with dirty hands. Pretty gross.

When my friend asked me if I’d be interested in trying a new place, a bit out-of-the-ordinary, of course I said yes! He mentioned that the place was open Thursdays and invite-only. Well, that’s actually only part of the story. Taste Bistro is, I believe, open other days of the week. However, their home-cooked Persian food is only available on Wednesdays, and owner Shanti calls regular customers to remind them of this weekly treat, if they put themselves on the list. We had meatballs over finely whipped mashed potatoes, and they were delicious. Shanti told us they were his take on Italian, with a little Persian flavor mixed in. Entry is via an obscure staircase in a non-descript driveway of a non-descript medical building on Wilshire. If you are using GPS, yes, that funky alley-looking thing is where the staircase is. A great alternative to the standard options in the neighborhood.

Do not give your phone number! The owner is nice. But if you go here, he will always ask for your phone number for his«black list» for Thursday Persian food. As a foodie, I signed up. Then he would call all the time. My phone battery died because of his many calls. Even after I declined on Tuesday that I didn’t want to order lunch on Thursday, he kept calling. As for the Persian food: It was ok but VERY expensive. It cost more than $ 9. Damn. I could afford to pay that if I was a doctor but I’m just a lowly white-collar office worker. The plate that cost more than $ 9 had chicken, rice, and salad. It wasn’t bad but I just can’t pay that much money for lunch. The lentil soup is recommended. A small bowl is about $ 3. When I am too busy to bring lunch from home, I get a jalapeño turnover(about $ 3). You’re safe just as long as you don’t give out your phone number. The owner is obsessively chatty. He will talk on and on. I had to return to work. But he was still chatting with the customer ahead of me. I have no idea why he has a restaurant business, when he should just be a talk show host. Good luck on trying to pick up your lunch and return to work on time. Just go to Subway across the street. For a cheaper option, my colleagues go to Express Deli at 1055 Wilshire Boulevard. Plus, they deliver.

Lemme tell you about the food here, but also about the man who runs this place. You ever watch Seinfeld or know about the cook on an episode called«the soup nazi»? Well, don’t expect high end service and accommodation here. The man takes a lot of pride in his cooking, which he is passionate about; However, he does not yield to ask for alterations on the way he serves his plates. Needless to say, he is still understanding. For example, I was concerned about how his egg salad sandwich tasted compared to what I was expecting. He generously offered to make something else for me. Yet, if he says the meat dish comes with a salad and chips for $ 8.50, no you may not get just the main dish without the sides and pay less. Nope. Now to focus on the food. His food is great even though it does not look appetizing sitting out behind that glass. That is because it is a deli and is laid out that way. He does hand out free tastes though. Do not be shy and try it. The soup of the day always excited me too when I was a tad sick. Back to the egg salad sandwich — it was actually like a potato salad sandwich and was very sour from the vinegar. That was what worried me about it. The café is INSIDE the work building. So if you’re here and hungry or thirsty, check it out. The rest of the staff there are also very friendly.

This place is located on the 2nd floor of the building I work at. The ONLY reason i go here is because it is convenient for me to get something to eat during lunch. They have hot food and it always looks gross! The rice looks dry and not a whole lot of variety to choose from. Today is the LAST time i go here. The owner(foreign man) always tries to talk me into having his nasty looking food! I went in here to buy a soup and decided to also get a jello. I asked him if I can get some whip cream on my jello like the lady who worked there added the last time I got it and he said«NO». At first I thought he was joking because he sometimes tries to be funny. Anyway, he said the whip cream was only for his crepes. I was willing to pay extra. He told me that I had to «respect» his menu. I told him I would no longer go there and he began talking back to me. What ever happen to customer service??? My co-workers and other workers in my building have also said that the man is rude!

Discovered this awesome joint with coworkers. There wasn’t a place like this around here, so it’s nice to have a deli style in the building. I came here with some coworkers and we tried some of the Mexican food and I had a turkey sandwich. You have to try the tortilla Epañola you won’t regret it. If you are super hungry try their burrito, nice and big like they should be-always a safe bet in any taco style place! The dining facilities are kind of small but it’s ok– great if you just want to grab and go. Overall a great place for quick work lunch :)

This hidden gem opened recently and since we work in the building have been happy to have somewhere closeby to purchase our lunch. The food is fresh, made that day, and breads are all baked by the chef. Everything is delicious. Now that he is adding more Persian menu items, we keep going back for more!
