Seriously horrible. I ordered a burrito with refried beans and no onions(who adds onions in a burrito by default?). I got a burrito filled with onions, regular beans, with almost no rice. The meat was low quality and I pretty much put it directly in the trash. I would never go back here even if it was free. Just a disgrace of a taqueria

If you’re looking for a great tasting shrimp cocktail, this is the place. It’s always on point! The service is fast and friendly. Been a loyal customer for many years.

So I’ve been following a lot of the recommendations from this now-defunct blog called«The Great LA Taco Hunt». It’s got some great info, but oddly enough whenever I try somewhere new I always much prefer a different menu item over the taco I originally went there for. And this place is no different. The lomo taco was what I sought out, and it was perfectly fine but the real best in show here are their sopes. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Especially the carnitas one. I could have that three times a week for the rest of my life and never grow tired of it. SOGOOD!

We wanted to try this place because it had 4 stars but I should have known it would be a disappointment. At first, we accidentally walked into the store area. Seriously smelled like dog food or dog poop. Or a mix of both. I think it was from the nasty meat that was left out there. We went back out and ordered carne asada tacos at the window. Seemed fresh since it took some time to cook, but when we took it home to eat… Wow it seriously tasted like it smelled. Tasted and smelled like old beef that had been left outside. Like literally dog food status, so disgusting we just threw the entire meal in the trash. Thank goodness… I bet this would have been food poisoning for sure. So gross how the hell did this place get 4 stars what the hell.

The meat market is good but the food they sell thru the window is awful. I know when Mexican food is good, trust me. The first time I went there I ordered buche tacos. The meat was old and salty. I thought it was just bad luck on my meat selection do I gave it a try a second time. I ordered taco al pastor and lengua(tongue). Someone who was with me ordered a tamal. My taco al pastor tasted sweet and the meat was soaked in some type of tomato sauce. The tongue taco was way too salty. The tamal had no flavor at all. It tasted like cooked dough, nothing else. It had some sauce with no taste. To top that off, we got there close to 7pm which is closing time. There was a man there who seemed like the owner or manager closing the windows where people order while we were there and seemed to have the urgency of closing the«pick up» window as well. The guys taking care of us were really nice but that guy who I guess was the owner left me with no desire to go back ever to this place. But not even the cheap price will take me back to order food at Sanchez. I’ll rather but the meat and cook it myself. If you don’t like salty food or to give business to a rude business owner, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I go here pretty often because it’s right next to where I work. It’s super affordable and the food is always great. I’m pescatarian so I can’t speak to the rest of the meat but the shrimp tacos are pretty close to perfect. It’s a family run business and that family is super friendly. They always go out of their way to make sure they get everything right. I find the volume on the TV’s kind of annoying but the regulars seem to engage in the daytime soaps… so whatever. I usually eat outside anyway…

Great food at a low price. Try their burritos de Al Pastor.

Gross. I ordered shredded beef and my mom ordered carnitas and they gave both of us carne asada… You could tell the meat was really terrible quality, we couldn’t even eat it. We also wanted lettuce, guac, etc in the burritos and they only put rice, beans, and a ton of onion. Yeah… Not going back. If you want Mexican to-go just order take out at Don Chuy’s down the street, that’s where we should’ve gone in the first place!

Taqueria Sanchez is ¼th of the Sanchez Empire around Centinela(Casa, Meat Market, 2 taquerias), Taqueria Sanchez is the best taqueria I’ve found in the Mar Vista area. Not quite notable enough to recommend, however. The carne asada was by far the best taco I had. Meat was top quality and flavor was all there. Carnitas & Chicken were both nothing to write home about. Solid tacos, but on the dry side and light on flavor. But see for yourself as definitely worth trying. Tacos took forever so perhaps hit the location on Centinela instead as you won’t have to compete with the Meat Market traffic.

Super good… super cheap! Great little taco stand near my office that I absolutely love. So far I have only tried 3 tacos and the tostada and everything has been really nice. The tostada today had tons of avocado and the carne asada was very tasty. Staff is very nice even to gringos like me! Yay. They also have a little market next door that sells a bunch of meats and groceries.

I had the breakfast burrito with ham and it was not only huge, but it was delicious! and it was only 5 bucks! It’s awesome! You can go up to the window and order and you can also go inside where they have items to buy such as meat, cheese and drinks and additional mexican items that you’d find at a mexican meat market. Will definitely be back.

Being Mexican myself, it’s hard to find flavor that is as close to homestyle as possible but they do a really good job on the food here. They offer typical mexican dishes and the flavor is really good. They go beyond the usual carne asada and have other Mexican type of meat. I’m a huge fan of tortas and they prepare them very good here. Pretty cheap and a good place to go for a quick bite. Service is super friendly and fast.

Authentic, and pretty tasty. Not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, nor the best in LA, but darn good enough. The nachos were outstanding and huge portioned. The tacos were enjoyable. All in all, pretty good and would go back. Definitely not going next door… Parking lot attendant is a %$#@!.

I pass by Taqueria Sanchez all the time and think: «That place must be good if the po-po are posted there grubbing all the time…» Thus, one of my girlfriends and I decided to stop by for lunch one day. Definitely authentic Mexican food, but I wasn’t as thrilled as I thought I would be. Perhaps I just hyped it up too much in my own head. Nevertheless, I’m a fan of the dirt-cheap tacos! $ 1.35? Sold. It’s like Taco Tuesday EVERYday! I got the carnitas and carne asada. Yum. My friend got the beef lengua burrito and liked it. We picked up our food from the window and ate standing up, using the ledge as a table. We fancy, huh? :)

It was obvious I was in for an authentic experience when my big white self stood out as the only non-Latino. Giddy-up. This is gonna be good. I tried four different tacos for under $ 6: Lengua(tongue), Asada, Carnitas, and Steak Ranchero. The small soft tortillas were loaded with lots of meat and served«street-style». I liked the ranchero version most because it had the most flavor and was juiciest. The carnitas pork was great quality, but the taco needed more sauce or something. Overall, the tacos were bueno. Service was friendly and helpful. When I asked for grilled Jalapenos after ordering, they were prepared and given without hesitation and offered with a smile. The manager even told me like three times how to properly pronounce the word for grilled jalapeño, but I’ve already forgotten it. Stupid gringo. The Jalapenos were the best. To be honest, I was lost when I found Taqueria Sanchez. My friend had verbally given me directions to the spot and I just picked a different Mexican place than the one she described. Which is cool because now I still have another place to review. Parking is limited to street and a couple temporary spots behind the restaurant. If you like authentic and non-pretentious Mexican tacos, burritos, sopes, tortas, and more then Taqueria Sanchez seems like a valid local choice.

I was craving horchata again, so my friend suggested we get food to go from TS. I was super hungry so I ordered: 2 carne asada tacos: $ 1.35 each The meat was good, flavorful and a tad fatty. You can separate the tortillas and divide the meat in half and make two tacos out of one taco! 1 pastor taco: $ 1.35 very mediocre, I would not order this again 1 shrimp taco $ 1.75 a little better than the pastor, but probably would not order it again even though they are generous with the shrimps 1carnitas taco: $ 1.35 was too full to even taste this one, but my friend said it was good 1 horchata: $ 2.25 large, watered down, but was good enough to satisfy my craving Bottom line: solid tacos. I was only able to eat 4 of them. I would come back for some carne asadas. We found a prime parking spot in the back lot. Lucky lucky!

Ok, to start– come here for simply delightful sopes, tacos, and caldo de Res soup. Thanks to a shameless taco/sopes slut I know, I have now been here on at least 6 different occasions. Shockingly, the food and service are almost always excellent. Prices are very reasonable. The wait is moderate and those sopes… oh. my. I love my meat and lots of it. At this point, I have tried my friend’s sopes(carnitas btw) as well as various tacos. But I have tried to focus on the(occasionally elusive) weekend specialties like pozole and menudo. For those of you with hardcore tastes and cravings, you best be out there EARLY on Sun morning. Early today, I came with the intention of getting a small bowl of pozole to go, but I was immediately distracted by the tables in the parking lots set up by the rival Mexican restaurant place next door. The were just FINISHING their tamale and champurrado table for the morning. *GASP* I heard Champurrado and almost did a dance on the street. For those who have not been blessed with the experience of champurrado, allow me to enlighten you: «Champurrado is a chocolate-based atole, a warm and thick Mexican drink, based on masa(hominy flour), piloncillo, water or milk and occasionally containing cinnamon, anise seed and or vanilla bean(tasting somewhat like a thick masala chai)»(Thanks Wikipedia). It is definitely a warming, decadent drink, and if you fear calories, share the small size with a friend. My layman’s description: champurrado is usually Mexican hot chocolate served with masa in the mix, either as chunks and bits of corn tortilla floating through out the drink, or in this case, the masa, chocolate, and spices were smoothly blended together– for a thick, rich drink full of flavor, for only $ 1 for a small cup. Wow. I was super happy! As for my pozole, I enjoyed the flavors but I liked the Caldo de Res better. Not enough pork and too much hominy in the pozole. I could also be happier with simple corn or flour tortillas to accompany the soup. But fear not, I will be back to try the menudo(also only Saturday and Sunday) soon enough and will update my review. So my strongest message to people interested in the food I described– GOEARLY! They warned us that with the holiday season upon us, the lines and chaos would only get worse. So get your tamales, champurrado, and tacos as early as you can. They are good stuff and won’t last long!

Listen, you pinheads… Look at the location BEFORE posting your reviews! This is NOT the restaurant location(Centinela), this is the Meat Market/Food WIndow(Inglewood). I mean, for crying out loud, there’s a picture of the g-damn storefront… FIGUREITOUT! That being said, I can honestly say that even after living across the street from this place for two or three years and eating here almost three or four times a week, I STILL love Taqueria Sanchez. Dunno why my last review suddenly perished, but this review should do for now. * Dirt cheap & healthy portions. * Cool soda selection(including TALL cans of soda) * Fantastic Mexican meat market inside * Friendly workers * FINALLY, salsa with both HEATANDTASTE. Mmmm! SOPES. To die for. Mountains of meat(carnitas, in my case) placed on a corn disc smeared with beans. Topped with queso fresco, guacamole, onions, and shredded lettuce… Oh man, I’m drooling just thinking about it. This Taqueria/Carnaceria is as legit as it gets. Next time you drive by, check the Mexican to white-boy ratio… That’ll say it all. Walk into a sushi bar and it’s all whiteys and no Japanese? Leave. Walk into a Mexican restaurant and you don’t see any Mexicans? Leave. Walk into a Korean joint and there’s no Ko-Ko’s? Run. Taqueria Sanchez /Sanchez Meat Market? No frills, no thrills, just damn good food at nearly unbeatable prices. HUGETHUMBSUP!
