Much more than just tacos and burritos. Excellent food. Authentic and delicious. We’ve visited both locations. Skip the awful fast food Mexican chains and visit El Tapatito instead.

This is a simple 5 star to give. Always have been impressed with there restaurant on fallbrook and victory and this is just an amazing addition . Basically the exact same restaurant except it has a drive thru… That’s right a drive thru spot in the valley that serves pretty authentic tacos. The carne asada is extremely delicious and the chicken is right up there as well . The corn quesadilla is definitely a great appetizer to but the cool part about this spot is the people. The employees always offering chips and salsa even when you just order one taco. They keep me coming for more and definitely deserve the 5 star . One thing I would definitely suggest getting with your meal though is the horchata. There horchata is seriously on another level and can drink liters of it no problem due to the amazing taste.

I love the fact that this is a DRIVETHRU Mexican food place right by my house. I first found out from a friend and now I am in love. They even have a really cool seating area. Tacos are amazing. Especially the shrimp tacos. Be sure to get the mini quesadillas made with corn tortillas as well.

We like the burritos from Taqueria El Tapatio, maybe not as good as Taco Reyes, but still pretty good. If you like the location on Victory you’ll find this location just as good, less crowded with more parking available. It’s much quicker to get in and out of.

This location has been opened for over a year now and I think I go here at least once or twice a week. The food is always good, fresh, and fast. I usually get the tacos and burritos. Ok, I get the chicken burrito most of the time. I am a picky eater but get this exactly as they make it. It is awesome!!! I recommend this place completely. Another plus plus plus is that it is drive thru. I live close and they are super fast– I’ve never waited for my food!!! Love this place.

Great take-out spot. Fantastic al pastor! Great customer service; friendly and helpful staff! Phoned ahead an order and it was ready and waiting when I arrived. My al pastor burrito combo was delicious! Real Mexican food that is really good. I’ll be back for sure.

Same as other review, I am also originally from San Diego which is best hands down in the country for Mexican food, I have been highly spoiled with great Mex for many years. Reason is, SD has lots of influence and extended franchises directly from Mexico. El Tapatio is best in the valley no question. When I moved up here 2yrs back I went searching for months for good authentic Mexican food. Tapatio was the first one FINALLY to know what I was talking about when I said if they made«Carne Asada Fries!!» and they’ll make it with any meat(more than 1 if you like) which not all places knew how to cook and even heard of the meat such as suadero, adobada, carnitas to name a few. Both this small spot & the longer based-one down some blocks on Fallbrook are #1.

If you are looking for classic Mexican food that great as fast food or after a long day working hard, this is the stuff. Being from San Diego I am picky about Mexican food, most Mexican food in LA isn’t what I am used to and not really what I am looking for, but El Tapatio has the right idea. The carne asada burrito is my favorite(no rice or beans, you don’t put that IN a burrito folks) and they make good carnitas and ceviche as well.

Okay, so I did not know that el Tap opened a secondary restaurant on saticoy and fallbrook. The same food & pricing, but without indoor seating. I got the pastor burrito combo which came with a medium soda of your choice. The price is really good at $ 6.78. No complaints about the price at all. If I was to rate el tap in comparison to other Mexican restaurants, is it a 3 out of 5 stars. The burrito is always good but the chips & salsa are generic. I sometimes even get a bag of chips that are undercooked and taste horrible. El tap is a cheap Mexican restaurant that I enjoy going to for a greasy burrito that I might regret later on lol. I think the 3 star is mainly for the little things. I know the chicken & steak are both subpar as well. I would not come here if it was for the spicy pork(pastor) meat option. Hoping my review helped you on your food adventures. Hope you enjoyed the review & be sure to complement the review if you liked it: D

Super good Mexican Food just like the other location they have up the street. I usually order to go! I have eaten on the patio too. Great casual dining! Nachos are piled high. Salsa is nice and spicy and they are really generous with portions ! Yum! Quesidilla with chicken is really good not flat like most! I like the 2 chicken taco dinner. Check your order before you leave sometimes they don’t hear your selection correct! Fast friendly service! They also offer catering service for parties, which I have used. They serve tacos with all the fixings! You will have left overs! Always a party hit!

New favorite burrito spot. Standard, Combo, Deluxe, Breakfast, whatever. The burritos here are top notch. The meat is delicious and crispy, the rice, beans, & cheese are flavorful and not mushy(TEXTUREISIMPORTANT). What else? My wife is a big fan of the taquitos & enchiladas. She has a high bar and has not been let down. The portion sizes are generous, but don’t let that make you think the quality suffers due to quantity. This is bigger AND better. Everyone loves a burrito that you can disguise as a baby. THEYHAVE A DRIVETHRU. Staff has always been friendly. Extras(salsa, pickled carrots & jalapeños) are all winners. GOHEREANDBESATISFIED. Then nap. You will need a nap. You deserve a nap.

This place is great. It’s a little hole in the wall with great authentic Mexican food. Delicious tacos. I’ve been here like 5 times. Check it out when you can.

Finally, good fresh Mexican food close by! I had the asada burrito and it was delicious… and huge! I am a real fan of «taco stands» and this one is great. Gonna try the tacos next, and hopefully the results will be just as good.

2 stars bc my friends asada tacos were«alright» 2 friends = 2 stars. Now the –3 stars. Bc you had one job. Chicken taquitos no beans and rice on side. Simple! What do I get?! Nasty, greasy tacos… No lettuce, no avocado, no sour cream. Now the inside of taco not shredded chicken breast(simple and good). Instead greasy mix of brown chicken mix with tomato, peppers, onions!?! And get this pieces of Assad and carnitas meat in there. I learned my lesson never going back, unless I feel like«alright asada tacos» I guess you can’t mess those up. Note: will post pic of deconstructed taco.

Yikes! The food tastes okay but I found shrimp shells in some of my shrimp and the beans tasted a little strange. The rice was also a little bit hard. Basically some of the food just didn’t taste fresh. Outdoor setup was interesting and different.

Their bean and cheese burrito has a fishy taste. The steak burrito has chewy nasty meat. They are inconsistent with giving chips and hot sauce.

Authentic mexican food with a drive through? Yes please!!! This is amazing, the nachos are stacked, burrito is longer rather than thick. Same style as the Tapatio in victory but much closer to home. Also right next to the Alta Dena so you can grab drinks while you wait.

Taqueria #1 is the newest Mexican food attached to Alta Dena. This tiny corner and counter has been so many places over the years, but it looks like this place is here to stay, their food Is good and they are already busy. I had a chicken taco last night and it was good. If you like spicy you’re sure to love their food, my taco and my husband’s steak burrito($ 8) were spi-cy! Chicken soft taco is small(about the size of Baja Freshs soft taco), so 2 – 3 would be a good meal. The seasoned meat was piled inside a fresh tortilla with onions and cilantro. Outside seating area and drive-thru available. Convenient place to grab a nice bit while picking up milk, or whatever next door at Alta Dena. Update 3÷8÷2015: stopped coming months ago when my burrito tasted fishy. Tried 2 more time after and the same thing. We’re done coming here.
