Such a convenient location for Korean food in Little Tokyo! This is a fairly new location, and when we stumbled upon in, we were a little concerned that we were the only customers in the restaurant. We ordered the Kimchi Tofu(really spicy and good!), Yookgaejjang(I’ve had better, but okay), and Boolgogi(yum!). This place is pretty new, but from the lack of customers, I really hope it doesn’t disappear!

I admit I’m a white guy who doesn’t know the ins and outs of Korean food very well, but I think this is a great restaurant! I’ve been here twice and have been please both times. The prices are very reasonable(80 for dinner for 4) and the meat and soup dishes are delicious. The service staff is very friendly and attentive and the portions are large. Although the restaurant has been empty each of the times we have come, I think that has a lot to do with their location. It can’t possibly have to do with their Unilocal score! Perhaps people don’t typically come to little Tokyo for Korean food. In any event, do yourself a favor and get some tasty bulgogi next time the lines at Hama or Komasa are too long.

Arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday night to a completely empty restaurant. To be fair, it’s Wednesday and the plaza was pretty dead besides the dozen or so folks at the ever popular Orochon Ramen next door… Anyway, this place is called ‘Tang’(‘soup’, in Korean) so had to try their soup. We got a Goji Tang and a Hot Stone Spicy Pork Bibimbap because I was in the mood for rice. The beef broth for the Goji tang was flavorful and definitely good. I was happy with my bibimbap, but I knew it wasn’t what gave this shop it’s name. The service was friendly and they gave us an extra 15 min parking validation when we asked for it. It’s on the 3rd floor of the plaza and you have to walk past the ramen place to get there. It looks like they have large tables in the back for parties, which can come in handy!

Think this place is A-OK, not stellar. I eat a lottttt of korean food and thought as a non-Korean owned establishment in Little Tokyo, it was above average. I ordered a bulgogitang which was meat and soupy. Their side dishes were okay, nothing memorable. This place definitely deserves a chance, especially when orochon next door is totally full or something. I came on a kind of chilly day and the soup was perfect. The one bummer is this place looks worse than it is. It’s only a 3.5 star by LA standards but if this were say in Tacoma, WA it would be a 5 star place and be packkkkkkkked. Customer service was attentive and good. Prices are standard for what you would pay for any establishment in little tokyo or ktown. Parking is validated which is good since you can park in that underground lot.

Eh. Went for lunch on a Tuesday with a friend. I ordered the lunch box special with bulgogi, and friend ordered the spicy pork. Lunch specials($ 9.95) come with sides(potato salad, bean sprouts, kimchi, and broccoli), miso soup, salad, tempura, rice, and seaweed. Pros: food portions, lychee soda Cons: lackluster service, kinda bland, soda was non-refillable A one and done deal.

Ordered their bulgogi-tang. Banchans were pretty good. Tad saltier and peppery than I would have liked but it was alright. Potato salad was outstanding of all. Cream is always good when eating strong Korean foods. Kimchi felt somewhat revisioned lacking in the authenticity department. Too easy on garlic and weak fermented fish sauce. But authentic kimchi is too much to ask even in K-town. Then came the tang. Impressive quality of meat and generous portion. But it was too sweet. So sweet that it became monotone. Can’t say I enjoyed it. But other menu items looked good, so we’ll see.

Lunch special box combo was an amazing deal… Nine dollars for a ton of food. The salads were all delicious and the lychee soda was awesome. The bulgogi was very good and the miso soup was good. For such a great deal I would definitely recommend it. I did not care for the tempura. But it came with the box combo, so I shouldn’t complain. All in all, I will definitely come back here.

They have limited samgyetang. I think it said 12 daily. Don’t let that fool you. I think it was just a gimmick because there was nothing special about it. It was too watery for my taste. I usually like mine thicker and richer. The chicken was the tiniest chicken I had ever seen and the meat was pretty dry. It was about 17 $ after tax and tip. I don’t know what their minimum for validation is but they only have us 45 mins worth on a 28 $ tab so it didn’t cover the whole parking expense. it was only $ 1.50 but still, usually other restaurants in that mall give you full validation.(And it wasn’t because we stopped by other shops, it’s because the food took a while to come out.)

White peach soda — bomb. Samgyetang — bomb. Hwedupbap — me gusta! Also the asian server with the really nice bushy eyebrows gave amazing service. Food was delicious! Definitely coming back with more friends next time.

30YOAF seeking new Korean restaurant for LTR. Actually, I think the restaurant was looking for me. My friends and I came to visit this restaurant due to a flyer left on our cars. Who doesn’t like a sale? 10% off the bill! Food + sale = a dream come true It’s really the most basic of math equations. Even a curmudgeon wouldn’t shoot down such an enticing deal. The emptiness of the restaurant was upsetting considering the quality of their delicious Korean fare. Banchans– fresh Staff– friendly and accommodating Entrée Portions– generous Prices– affordable Validation– included for weller court

Tang is a restaurant that apparently is special due to its Korean Soup. I ordered the Gogi Tang Lunch which is $ 8.95 similar to the next door Raman but with side dishes more meat which is beef. I never was a fun of soup until Tang change my life… And I remembered why I can’t get soup once I got home… My life hasn’t changed. Overall I will come back again and also they make their own soda which is a artificial syrup and a soda base on bartending which became my top 5 sodas I ever drinked! My first was the white peach and I would like to try more.

Came in for lunch with a few of my friends and let me say, this place is AMAZING. We had a salmon lunch box, hwedupbop, and beef tang. Everything tasted really good and our servers, josh and david were extremely attentive and quick to the draw. I also recommend the white peach soda. So good. Definitely recommend this place

Second time here, my friend actually had a craving for Korean tang for a while and even tho it’s hot outside, we made it here. I got the hot stone bibimbap and she got the gogi tang which was very savory and hearty. We both tried the bulgogi soup the first time and even though it good, it was a bit too sweet for us. Our other friend tried the ginseng chicken soup and loved it. Overall, their foods are yummy and I can get my Korean food cravings here because you can’t go wrong with any of it!

We were in Little Tokyo and weren’t hungry at all. Then we looked at the menu at Tang Korean soul food and decided we were suddenly hungry. The waiter was really nice and helped us decide what to get. Then the brought an array of complimentary appetizers(kim-chee, pickles, potato salad etc) and they replaced the ones we finished. Everything we got was excellent; me, raw fish salad, him, Beef Spicy Tang. I can’t wait to go back — there’s so much stuff I want to try! Tang is definitely my new go-to place in Little Tokyo.

Very delicious! Ordered the combo for 2 and was overwhelmed with all of the amazing food that was presented to us. The rice was cooked perfectly as were all of our dishes that came out piping hot. My absolute favorite was the spicy pork. I couldn’t stop eating it! Seriously, get the pork! Luckily the portions were so big, even for two people, that I will have some to eat for lunch tomorrow. All of our food was extremely fresh and you can tell they cook everything to order. Service was phenomenal and attentive. Hopefully next time I come this restaurant will have caught on and will be full of patrons. Don’t let the location or empty tables fool you, this place is fantastic!

Nice to have another viable food option within walking distance of the Civic Center. Tang is located on the 3rd floor of Weller Court so it can be easy to miss(it’s right next door to Orochon Ramen). They have really good lunch specials, with most items coming in under $ 10. I got the rice cake tang with beef broth and egg. Meals come with a few banchan(kim chi, cucumber, bean sprouts, and potato salad). The tang also came with a side of rice so it was a very filling meal. *Tip* add for an extra side of hot sauce for extra flavor. Overfall, a nice new Korean lunch option in Little Tokyo.

One of the best Korean restaurants we have ever had! Located in the old Spicy Crab Shack’s spot on the third floor of the Weller Court, Tang is not to be missed. The interior of the restaurant is nice and open, however they do not have any outside seating. The food options here are plentiful. Lots of appetizers, salads, soups, and meats. While these all sounded great, we went for the combo for two. We started with tempura shrimp and veggies. Normally I’m not a big fan of tempura, but this was by far the best tempura that I’ve had. Next we had delicious glass noodles with sautéed veggies, truly amazing. We had a hot bowl(literally) of white rice with roe, kimchi and shredded roasted seaweed, also delicious. We went with a hot steaming bowl of Kimchi tang, which came with pork, tofu, enoki mushrooms, and slices of rice cakes. We even asked for a side of rice to soak up all of the brothy goodness. Next up was the sizzling plate beef bulgogi with sauteed onions. The meat was really good and the sauce that came on the side went perfectly; they called it a korean version of pico de gallo(I thought it was seasoned soy sauce with onions and jalapenos). On top of all this, it also came with unlimited sides of kimchi, potato salad, and broccoli salad. They don’t have alcohol yet so for beverages I had a Yuzu(Korean citrus soda) and my wife had one of their custom sodas, a lychee soda.

Tucked into a little corner of a sea of Japanese restaurants lies Tang, a Korean soul food/comfort food heaven. I came here with a group of friends on their grand opening day and everything’s amazingly delicious. First off, their menu is pretty out of the ordinary compared with other Korean restaurants I’ve been to(big K-food fan here). I ordered the raw fish bibimbap and loved every bite(highly recommend it). My friends ordered the 2 people combo which comes with an appetizer(tempura), tofu soup, fish roe on rice, stir fried spicy pork, and chapchee(Korean style glass noodles). We also tried their clam soup and spicy seafood soup. All so yummy and in big portions. We will definitely come back for more!

Great Korean food joint in Little Tokyo! Located right next to Orochon on the top level, I immediately liked Tang’s open kitchen! It’s always nice seeing an open kitchen because that shows the restaurant’s confidence! Next thing I noticed was their menu! They have variety of Korean dishes from appetizers, salads, bulgogi, rice dishes to of course, Korean soups! They also have limited Samgyetang which they serve 12 orders per day. I came here yesterday in a big group and we got to try variety of dishes! I ordered the fresh fish bibimbap(aka hwae dubbap) and really enjoyed how fresh the raw fish was and how generous they were with those raw fish, along with yummy sweet red pepper sauce that came with miso soup. We also ordered stir-fried spicy pork(aka jeyook bokgeum), bibimbap, kimchi tang, Korean bean paste tang, seafood pancake(aka haemool pajun) and hot stone bowl bulgogi. Overall, Tang has generous portions and I really enjoyed how everything was not salty, unlike many other Korean restaurants! Their banchans were also clean and again, well seasoned. Because they made Korean food clean and flavorful while not making it too intense & garlic-y, I feel that more people will be able to enjoy Korean food at all time! Last but not least, they have great service, which is always a major plus! Tang literally means soup, which is my favorite! So I know I will be coming back for some more of tang in the future!

Hidden lil gem in the corner of weller court! Great Korean food in J town! Very fresh and well flavored. Everything is piping hot and so delicious. Bulgogi was not overly sweet and very flavorful! Banchan were good. Best kimichi and potato salad I’ve had in a long time. Spicy seafood soup was my favorite with great flavors. Sodas are a must try! Restaurant bill said Gogitang, but sign above is Tang.
