Tacos El Tapatio 3

First thing, this place hasn’t gone by this name for a long time. It’s Betos Tacos now. This is the most consistently amazing taco truck I know of. I eat here at least once a week. The Al Pastor is really the only thing I can fully co-​sign as it’s been a long while since I had anything else here, but I remember the rest being at least good.
In an area over-​saturated with cheap taco options, this place has endured (even through the 2 name changes)

Seriously needed to take a break from gaming last night and didn’t feel like travelling far for food (When I’m close to finishing a level there’s no way I’m going far I need something quick and NOW). Oh, Velvet Assassin. Playing you til 1am made me so late for work this morning.
Anyhoo, I had five bucks in cash so decided to hit up this taco truck I see every night on my way home from being out and about. Even though, yes this is Culver City, it’s what I like to call the «bad lands» of Culver meaning it’s not entirely the greatest of areas. The taco truck is literally in the parking lot of Redondo Liquor store on the corner of Redondo Blvd and Washington. What I liked first off is that the parking lot was big enough so that I didn’t have to street park. The truck offers a short menu of tacos, burritos and quesedillas in the following types of meat:
Al Pastor
Asada
Lengua
Tripa
Cabeza
Buche
I ordered 3 tacos de asada and was happy to see each taco was only about a buck each. Directly infrtont of the truck there is a wide table with a do-​it-​yourself salsa bar. Three HUGE vats of salsa: Regular, Verde, and Avocado. Directly next to it are three again HUGE tubs: One filled with finely diced onions mixed with Cilantro, one of radishes and one of jalapeños en escabeche. There is another bin of small plastic containers to fill to the brim of whatever salsa you’d like, and then a box of sandwich bags for the other ingredients.
4 Stars because it was close, the tacos were amazingly good, and because the wait for the tacos didn’t take long. Which is good since the night was not getting any younger, and that whole area is pretty sketchy. Cars all careening around the corners and misc. things being thrown from the window of another. I grabbed my tacos and hurridly walked to my car lest I get surprise sexed (aka RAPED) on my way back.
