I’ve always enjoyed coming here. It’s good food for a great price. But that certainly doesnt matter when it comes to having HAIR in your food. I was utterly disappointed and GROSSEDOUT. As I said, I did enjoy coming here so out of respect to the times they did serve me correctly; I approached the workers with up most respect and patience. The cashier was very rude and hesitant to return my money when I physically showed her the very LONG and golden hair in my burrito.(which matches her own hair) my hair is black. She began to get very loud and refused to refund all of my money. What kind of customer service is that?! Especially after showing PROOF that they completely broke all health regulations. I advise anyone going to this taco truck to thoroughly inspect their food. Something you shouldn’t even have to do to begin with. I, as well as several other people I know will never return to this rude, disgusting, and disrespect place.

LOVE these tacos!!! Always the place to go when on a budget. Do not expect a fancy truck because you will be disappointed. Take into consideration that the prices are reasonable and they serve good food. We have been coming here for years and I have no complaints. Again take into consideration the area and the fact that it is a lunch truck. If you are a fancy person and judge based on appearance this is not the place for you. If you are humble and looking for yummy food and are willing to give this place a shot then ENJOY! :) :)

Awesome tacos. I love the Al pastor tacos. So f n good. Sucks that they took off the 2x$ 1 thing. Not completely tho, as they still have it for Tuesday’s.

This place has the best food for the price. 3 dollars for a big asada burrito? Worth it. Only reason i gave four stars is the area around the truck but overall i would recommend this place.

2 x $ 1.00 tacos any day of the week! Never too busy, always delicious. $ 3.00 burritos of reasonable size. Their salsas are spicy, temper your taste for it, by asking for it on the side.

If you feel like grubbing on some Tijuana dog tacos without driving all the way to Mexico, then come on down to el capitan for some tasty tacos de perro. jk jk this spot is ok, good prices and fast service but the run down truck and the fake cholos«kicking it» kinda throws you off. It’s a cool spot to eat good for a cheap price or when your drunk.

Great food, prices are off the wall … The best thing about is the church across the street. Cool people and great pastors …

I been going to this place for over 20 years and doesn’t change. They have excellent tacos and their best meat is definitely carne asada. Not to mention they are still the best bargain in East Los Angeles.

Great tiny chorizo tacos, with greasy tortillas, 2 for 1. But the mullitas are what we will come back for. Oozing cheese, greasy tortillas, spicy salsa, delicious meat. Not much more to it. You just can’t beat there prices.

If you love tacos with grease dripping when taking a bite this is the place to go. They don’t even give you cucumbers or extra salsa like they used to. No bueno

The taco truck that started it all is on Olympic and Ferris Ave. Tacos are 2 for $ 1 and they are delicious. I like to order asada and pastor also the burritos are a bargain for $ 2.50. For less than $ 20 I ordered 25 tacos and 2 burritos. You can also get a free cup of Tang or Kool aid with your paid order. This is a cool joint for the budget conscious or parents of a large clan.

Learned about this gem from a classmate, amongst his friend’s they call it the«Dos por Uno» taco truck. 2X1 is friendly to a student’s low budget and THEBEST50 cent tacos I’ve ever eaten! This truck offers: cabeza, lengua, al pastor, asada and carnitas. I didn’t get to try the cabeza since they ran out, but with everything else I had a total of ten tacos. =D Outstanding job with my favs. asada and carnitas, the lengua exceeded my expectations by miles. Reasons to love this place: 1) The meat is tender and juicy 2) They give you a good amount of meat 3) No fatty pieces are used as filler 4) The marinade and hot sauces they use are flavorful 5) Truck is on top of their sanitation(when I accidentally upended a plate of jalepenos and radishes it was swept up within minutes) 6) Service is fast 7) Free fruit punch is offered 8) Cheap! Let me spell that out D-I-R-T-C-H-E-A-P! Tired of seeing gaudy trucks shamelessly offering sub-par suggestions of sustenance for exorbitant prices, El Capitan restores faith in the food truck industry. Steadfast and humble, this truck will remain on E. Olympic Blvd. & S. Ferris Ave. through countless more fads providing food to hit-the-spot.

Bomb tacos and 2 for $ 1.00, such a deal. Stopped here after visiting a family member that was in LA county Hospital. The tacos and the Unilocal app on my droid really helped the evening. These little TJ street style tacos were really good. if your in the hood and want the real deal TJ tacos, this is the spot to hit.

Located in the taco hotspot of Olympic Blvd. in East Los Angeles, Tacos El Capitan can seem like just any other taco truck, and it is. But the reason I like this place is simple, it’s cheap. You get the same great taste and delicious salsa that you’ll find at most other taco trucks, but it will cost you alot less. How much less you ask? well, I’m seen tacos for up to 90 cents, El Capitan gives you 2 x $ 1. Burritos are only $ 2.00 Delicious food, mexican bottled sodas, and a great price. Bön apptite.
