I had a burrito. It was pretty good… probably worthy of a 3.5, maybe 4-star rating, but damn did it take a long time to prepare.

Not gonna lie, we rolled down Abbott Kinney around 11:30pm on a Saturday night and were downright SHOCKED to see all almost all the bars closed and lights off on this street. Yeah, we’re from the city that never sleeps, but 11:30…really?! COMEONVENICE, WAKEUP! Rant aside, like a mirage on the street, there was one cool lounge/club open and this cool little TacoManiaco truck parked right outside! My friend and I ordered some silver dollar-sized tacos — an al pastor and a carne asada. Although they’re only $ 2 a pop, you get what you pay for… not very much. Service was friendly, but they score points for location, and for actually being open past midnight on a Saturday(I still can’t even believe I’m saying that last part!)

This review is for the food truck — worst burrito in LA seriously tho, I got barbacoa burrito and it had and I’m not exaggerating a tablespoon of meat, so so lame. Last weekend I got one from the Oaxaqueña on Lincoln and it wasn’t the best but for a 2am snack was okay. Now back to this food truck, lame lame, I can get a better burrito from whole foods or from la playita on Lincoln for $ 5, those are stuffed. Never again

ordered the vegetarian burrito…$ 7 + .50 for cheese and .50 for whole wheat and I am guessing $ 1.50 for guacamole… was supposed to have strips of poblano pepper, corn, rice, beans, cheese, gauacmole, lettuce(there was no lettuce)…not only were the ingredients sparse, where were the beans and the rice and the cheese and the guacamole???($ 1.50 for ‘what guacamole’…not even a teaspoon worth!!! and no poblano pepper strips… little pieces of poblano here or there… terrible!!! and, tasted bad… tortilla not cooked and ingredients inside barely warm… horrible…the only reason I ate it was cuz I paid $ 9.50 for it and they don’t even throw in a few chips!!! Rip off and bad tasting food!!!

This truck was on Abbott Kinney on a Thursday night — not sure how often they are there. Very solid, authentic mexican street style tacos for $ 2 a pop. My favorite was the Al Pastor and the Carne Asada was also good. Simple with really well cooked and seasoned meat. They have two salsas you can put on top which were both good and not overly spicy. I also got the ceviche tostada with fish which was $ 3.50 and really good with nice big slices of avocado on top. Friend had the veggie taco who also gave it good reviews. Excited to go back and try different tacos as well as devour more Al Pastor. Hope they are on Abbott Kinney a lot more!

As far as taco truck tacos go, I’ve had FARBETTER than this place for sure. One of the perks of having an office on the Miracle Mile is that we’re right next door to LACMA and this in turn attracts a nice assortment of food trucks maximizing on this recent fad going on in LA. Among this sea of trucks was this Maniac of Tacos with the painting of the crazy bandito guy with tacos lining the outside brim of his sombrero(seemingly because them tacos are just THATDAMNEDGOOD). Of course we’re reminded that when we were all young, our parents would teach: «Don’t judge a book by its cover»… Well, clearly our parents never grew up in the era of Tinder cuz yo, THAT’S ALLWEDO. lol Anyway, I digress. There isn’t anything all that unique about the food here to warrant repeat visits and even the job they do with the tried and true classics like the burrito de pastor was meh at best. The hot salsa was meh, the efficiency of the service was meh, the prices are meh… What does the CAP say? Meh meh meh meh meh meh… meh meh meh meh meh meh… What’s does the CAP say? Meh meh meh meh meh meh… meh meh meh meh meh meh… Also, unless it’s only a standard taco or burrito that will satisfy your insatiable lunch needs, move past this truck and try any of the other fusion trucks nearby that also have their version of burritos and tacos. Ya heard?! =P

These are hands down THE best chicken tacos I’ve ever had. I’ve only been to the taco truck off abbot Kinney but once I had my fist bite, I was hooked. Some chicken tacos at other places are all dry… No not these. Juicy little pieces of chicken with just the right spices. I get so excited when I see this taco truck!

I’ll have to give this truck another try cuz I obviously got the wrong thing based on the glowing reviews on Unilocal.I ordered a torta(which I usually like) al pastor, and while it was OK, it was definitely not in my personal top 100 of Mexican food entrees. The bread was kind of blah, and that usually makes the sandwich for me. After I got my food, I saw someone else who had ordered a soft taco, and it looked so much more appealing. Next time, that will be the selection.

My first visit to this taco truck didn’t go so well. They got my order wrong. However, the owner went out of his way to refund me and offer a re-do. So despite a bit of an initial stumble, I’d recommend TacoManiaco. The barbacoa buritto with all the ingredients(ask for guac and pico del gallo) was delicious, filling and definitely hits the spot when you are craving Mexican food. I’ll be going back.(they are on Abbott Kinney each Friday)

Not sure if Roach Coach or Gourmet food truck… I think it’s somewhere in between the two. But it was tasty! Their Al Pastor tacos were quite good… If I remember correctly I enjoyed the Barbacoa even more. Just don’t spill any of the oil on your pants– that stain is never coming out.

Wow. I have no idea why this truck isn’t more well-known! Everything I’ve had there has been amazing. Potato flautas and barbacoa soft tacos are a must-try. Authentic and delicious Mexican food. YUM!

Holy crap! Had a tostada de tinga de res. I think that’s what it was called? I had it with beef… it was unbelievable!!! Big tostada for $ 3, the salted meat was awesome! When they old me there was cheese on top I was a little worried but this is VERY authentic! They use the right kind of cheese ;) and there is cream and lettuce on top. Probably one of the best tostadas I’ve had next to the ones my abuelita(grandma) makes! DEFINITELY would eat here again! I want to try some of the other menu items as well. Next time I want to try the tostada de ceviche.

The truck is regularly by LAX weekdays from 8:30am-1:30am. It parks near the CleanEnergy natural gas station on Aviation and 104th. Best cochinita pipil tacos I’ve had so far! All other tacos are really good as well. Recently expanded breakfast items are delicious and not greasy. Be sure to check it out if you are in the area.

Tried this place out for the first time at First fridays in venice beach. WOW was that a good taco. When you order your taco it looks extremely plain, because it’s literally just meat inside of the tortilla. but it’s ssoooo good!!! the chicken was marinated to perfection and i could have easily had 3 of those. They’re really little so order more than 1 if you’re hungry!

So this review is a long time coming. I was there several weeks ago and visited TacoManiaco as part of a tour of some of LA’s finest food trucks making their way through Museum Row on Wilshire. I met the owner of this fine truck and he told me to sample his favorite burrito, which I cannot remember the name of now… bloody memory!!! Anyway, I did, and despite only planning on eating a little bit from each truck, I devoured the Burrito like it was brains and I was a hungry Zombie. This was the first and only item I’ve sampled from TacoManiaco, but the second I find this truck again I will latch onto it like a baby whale suckling on its mama’s… do whales have tits? I’m not sure… They must… they’re mammals, so that’s one of the defining characteristics of mammals, but I’ve never actually seen Whale boob. I feel like it would be huge but really nasty because it would taste like fish… I have digressed and now I’m back. Try TacoManiaco, it is rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdelicious!!!

$ 2 tacos. I tried barbacoa and pastor. They were tiny, but the barbacoa def had a lot of flavor. Also, one of the fastest food trucks I’ve experienced yet! Take card too!

Dude, this is so not your normal taco truck. These puppies are gourmet and freaking AMAZING! I have never had Barbacoa, and couldn’t even tell you what I thought it was, but this simmered beef taco was so damn good that I bought four more to go. They are a new truck on our block and thought I’d give them a try, and I’m on their Twitter feed so I know when they are near my work. It also helps that one of the guys working there looks like Gael Garcia — hot, but so super cute when he talks! I’m just saying…
