they look ok, and i’m on my second pair, but they dont last more than a couple of months, which makes them very very expensive. I’ve since emailed them regarding the poor quality, but theyre not the sort that actually give a hoot. I’m now having to get my lawyer onto some court action… such a pain I’m going for Mavic next time, a brand to trust!

These shorts are the best thing that happened since buying my new bike. I wear them everywhere, they’re fitted and comfortable on and off the bike and also look good anywhere, even at work. I just bought a second pair. Prices are comparable for this market, stuff’s not cheap but you do get quality.

Best pants I’ve ever owned. The fit is great, the materials are quality, the details mean that if I forgot to bring a light for road riding, I can just fold a pant leg up and utilize the built in reflector strip. The shorts are the best shorts I’ve ever own. I do a ton of yardwork for my grandparents, and parents property the shorts hold up well and get me through the days, AND I can bike home after work no problem. Awesome stretchy material the fit is great.

I used to be Swrve’s biggest fan. I own 5 knickers, 1 merino sweater, 3 shorts, 1 hiding hoodie, 3 shorts. But sometime in the last two years they changed the way they size men’s wear. We all know if you wear a levis 34, that is not really your waist size, just what you wear. Swrve aims to fix that. They say measure your waist, then order that size. Sounds simple right? My waist measures a 37, so I order a 36… To Big. After countless emails and calls back and forth you would never guess what size fits, yep a 33 – 34. Exactly the same number that is on my levis commuter jeans. Sometimes people have a great idea, but they just can’t make it happen. I find it odd that before the new sizing I wore a 33 – 34 in Swrve wear, and so do I after the new sizing. Swrve wear holds up, and is worth what you pay for it. But they are not made to their own published sizing guidelines.

Urban cycling wear is difficult to come by because fit, durability, style, and versatility is a rare combination. Where Swrve goes above and beyond is in customer service. Included in my last purchase, I requested 2 swrve pants repaired and 1 non swrve pant hemmed. Without question, this additional job was precisely completed. A loyal customer created.

This place deserves 6 stars. Amazing crew works there, super responsive owners. I called twice and they were honest in letting me know when they would be available for me to come by. The staff there def. knows their stuff and are very welcome and friendly. It’s a shame they’re relocating to the Silver Lake area, but def. check them out before they move if you can. I’ve shopped at other local business, fashion designers in the downtown region, but by far these guys are heads and shoulders above everyone else, in terms of customer service, expertise, and just atmosphere.

Super friendly people, neat place to shop in the heart of the fashion district. you see the whole operation up close and personal. This is NOT a regular retail shop, but you can order their goods online if you’re not in L.A. The«store» is in their studio which is also a little factory. We like to buy local and since my DH got back into cycling, this is a good option. I rode my bike over to check it out back in December. I think it is kind of expensive, but he says compared to other brands it is a good value and they use similar fabrics. He wears the Milwaukee jacket regularly and recently got a wool double zip front sweater, which looks great on him and is totally functional! Not super cold around here, but he gets up early so it’s perfect and the Milwaukee jacket saved him during our super rains! The hats are cute and they do riding shoes too. Just gotta save up! Thanks Matt & Muriel! p. s. yes, I just wrote a non food related review!

Get your SWRVE on. In my hierarchy of people or companies I do business with, it’s the locally based ones that are at the top of the food chain. Time and time again, I find myself searching to do business with companies that are close to home or at the very least in the Los Angeles area. And while there are myriad reasons to doing business locally, personally, the one that sticks out is being able to put money into a business where the principals are front and center, doing the work. So, when I recently needed some new cycling shorts of the urban variety, my first choice was Swrve Cycling. Among the fixed gear crowd and other daily commuters, Swrve is known for making«bullet proof» everyday cycling gear. Not the kind you want to change out of once you’ve reached your destination. On the contrary, cycling gear that is both functional, as well as aesthetically pleasing. So with my decision made on what I wanted to purchase, I went to their website and placed my order. To my surprise, they had a «will call» option which saved me some money on shipping. Yay! So after calling them and finding out their hours, I went down to their shop during lunch one day. Conveniently located off the 110 in Downtown LA on Broadway and Olympic, Swrve is housed in a 10 plus story garment/textile building. Parking is plentiful on the street and the elevator ride up to their space is pleasant enough. When you walk in, you’re right smack dab in the middle of their clothes making operation. There were two people there when I went, who I can only assume were the owners as well… could be wrong though. Both were extremely friendly and open to questions. There’s a fitting room off to the side as well as a couple of racks of irregulars and b-stock. I get the feeling, you could stop by and purchase directly from them. When I left, I had a pair of the best fitting shorts I’ve ever owned under my arm. Shopping at Swrve Cycling was a perfect experience in both product and service. If anything, it solidified my position of trying to do business locally as often as possible. Good job Swrve.
